Hello and welcome to the channel! In this video I'll be listing off SIX predictions of things I genuinely think will appear/happen in the upcoming Paramount Pictures movie Sonic The Hedgehog 3, due for release in December 2024.
You may find yourself asking "Why?" and it would be a fair question. Meaningless speculation videos aren't my usual MO. But I thought it would be a bit of fun to go 'on record' with my predictions for the movie, so we can look back when the movie releases and laugh at how wrong I got it - or we can be in awe and how I was spot on about absolutely EVERYTHING!
Also, the upload date of this video marks one year since I launched the Hill Top Terebi RUclips channel. And seeing as my first ever video focuses on the Sonic Cinematic Universe, and seeing as I haven't talked about it in a while, I thought it would be fun to get back into it.

I agree heavily!!! Especially with the part of Gerald being an antagonist if or when Carrey is serious on retirement. Plus aging up Maria would be a great idea, I always saw her as a bit older than 12 anyway.

Having Gerald be a villain if Jim Carrey doesn't return is plausible, but I think we shouldn't forget Agent Stone. He's been a fan favorite and I don't doubt the writers would love to make him even more of a villain as the story progresses.

For Sonic 3 tho, i would like for Metal Sonic to be the actual villain this time, the big baddy, and then Super Sonic and Super Shadow battles Metal Overlord in the end somehow

Metal Sonic/Metal Overlord would be AWESOME actually. It could certainly be an option. For example, before Robotnik "died" he built and programmed a Metal Sonic to carry on his work/avenge him. I'd love to see that. Fingers crossed for Amy in Sonic Movie 3 too!
Metal sonic & amy wont be in sonic 3, maybe in sonic 4
Idk, I kinda like the Biolizard too much to have him be replaced by Metal. I also think a villain like Metal deserves a story focused more on him specifically, rather than the one introducing Shadow.

I can't wait to see Sonic Movie 3. Also, Imagine if Perfect Chaos and Biolizard has their designs similar to the MonsterVerse-Styled Kaiju-Sized monsters from MonsterVerse as well as having Shadow The Hedgehog's powers similar to Brixton Lore from Hobbs and Shaw and Bloodshot from 2020's Bloodshot despite that he has first power: Electricity. Also, I want Shadow The Hedgehog to be cyber-genetically enhanced hedgehog in Sonic The Hedgehog Cinematic Universe similar to Brixton Lore from Hobbs and Shaw who is a cyber-genetically enhanced human being cause I don't want Shadow to be a immortalized hedgehog despite that I honestly like Shadow The Hedgehog being a immortalized hedgehog from Sonic The Hedgehog's Videogames. And I also want Shadow The Hedgehog's blood to be nano-active blooded similar to Bloodshot from 2020's Bloodshot.

Big plot twist in the movie, MARIA IS ALIVE. And is the one to make Shadow remember what he was made for, to protect humanity from danger.

I'd personally Iove it if they actually adapted Maria faithfully. Though in this case GUN can't be involved, as they were only formed in the second movie.
I think Lexi Rabe would be a good choice to play Maria.
I hope Jim Carrey will return one last time. I honestly can't think of a better way for him to finish off his career than not only playing one of the most iconic video game characters in history, but also capping off his first and only trilogy.
After Robotnik is retired, I think the next logical step would be for Agent Stone to take up the mantle of main villain.
As for Gerald Robotnik, I think Anthony Hopkins would be a great choice to play him.
As for Shadow, I firmly believe Adam Driver is an ideal candidate to voice him.
There was only one choice to voice Shadow the Hedgehog and that is Keanu Reeves

Keanu has a more natural stoic sounding voice; perfect for a naturally stoic character like Espio.
Whereas Shadow has a more gruff edge to his voice, something Adam Driver could pull off just right.
Honestly I agree with your entire video. Awesome job man! Yeah I have the feeling that they’re gonna make a movie that surrounds chaos. The bigger question is are they going to introduce Amy or rouge(maybe both)? And how are they going to handle the human characters? Man I wish this movie would come out now lol 😂
I feel like the way they could handle Maria death is if they go the mr. Freeze route where they put Maria in a cryo pod so Gerald would have plenty of time to research a cure, but when G.U.N. attacked they accidentally turned off Maria's cryo pod which would presumably would lead to her death
If they need to recast Dr. Eggman for future films, then they should actually take a page out of Archie Sonic, with Eggman sending his conscious into a new robot body aka a new actor (Danny Devito ideally lol).
We'll definitely have chaos for the next movie. it just makes SENSE
Yep! Agreed! I should have mentioned the Chaos-based enemies on the Ark in SA2 in the video... It'd be a perfect set up for Sonic Movie 4 to bring in the actual god the enemies they had been fighting were based on.

nope, chaos wont be in the 3rd film, it makes zero sense for him to be there, its better to save chaos for another film
Sonic and Shadow battle in San Fransisco and we get a "Radical Highway" type action sequence. :3
Gotta be pretty close to hitting the nail on the head there Hilltop, I mean what sort of antagonist would shadow be without personal motivation and internal conflict? I know the movies have introduced new lore here and there, but hopefully it isnt tampered with and straying to far from Shadows/Maria's/Geralds dynamics. But somehow I have good faith.
I must admit on a personal level, I am a bit bummed out we never got to see the Death Egg on the big screen, or a Metal Sonic...

Just to help you out with sources you missed, some of these could open many things. Jeff Fowler (director of the films) did confirm the third film being darker due to Shadow's presence for obvious reasons. There is a way of getting away with PG/family-friendly work, there's TMNT (1990 film) which also had darker tone for kids film, and recently Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
1. Like Sonic and the Wachowskis accepting their fates. There's other things to remind: Pachacamac shot Longclaw, and Wade nearly shot Robotnik in the first film. They ain't afraid showing/using guns as having character at their demise. They'll either keep Maria the same age, or a little bit up so they can get away with it. But it's obvious they're gonna shot her off screen with Shadow's reaction as the break point.
2. Jim Carrey specifically didn't retire right away. He's likely to return for the third film depending on the script, and among other projects he would tap in. He does have ideas for Robotnik in Sonic Movie 3, his biggest request is Fat Eggman for the complete transformation/evolution, and includes technology evolution for nanotechnology, quantum computers, retinal displays. Eggman in SA2 has a very important part, and Jim done serious roles before like The Truman Show so he'll work well into it.
3. Chao does exist in the movie universe. When Tails was talking to Sonic on how he knew him, on his computer at Tails' Workshop does list "Chao Garden". Since the zones in the games are placed as planets, there's probably a planet full of Chao than just a garden. Not sure when that'll happen, even since the film is gonna be serious and darker as SA2.
4. One thing to add is playing "Live and Learn" by Crush 40 personally than anyone else. Producers and writers are aware of fans call for Crush 40 for the sequel. Which they're in talks for atm.
5. The writers will also be taking elements from Shadow spin-off since the plot is kinda similar to SA2 on Shadow's journey down memory lane. (Likely taking the hero route.) They'll place Shadow's fate to the unknown depending if they really wanna end his character to really move forward to Chaos or Metal Sonic in Sonic Movie 4. Chaos did appear in Sonic Movie 2 in Labyrinth Zone's mural where the M.E. is placed, and we don't know what Eggman will do with Sonic's quill.
I think the Sonic Movie Team will feature the most known/prominent and important elements from SA2 like City Escape, Sonic and Shadow's rivalry, Robotnik's family, the Ark, characters arcs, and more. The example from Sonic Movie 2 went nuts parts of Sonic 2 and 3 & Knuckles for the plot they mixed. I'm sure they'll lean much closer with SA2, but not a complete one on one since there'll be little changes to make the film original so audience who ain't familiar with this gets in the dust by fans. Writers did say fans should revisit Sonic Adventure 2 to know the story, but it's not required since the film will tell you almost all of it anyways. It's a big story that everyone remembers, and I'm sure it's pressure for the writers but since they're fans like us. They'll nail it.

Paramount better not kill off Shadow. I want him to get his own movie where he fights the Black Arms and Black Doom.
I hope Super Sonic and Super Shadow will be in outer space in Sonic Movie 3.

A) I'm of the "merge SA1 and 2" mind. Shadow will use Perfect Chaos to destroy the Earth with the ARK and Biolizard scrapped. Mobian magic is a heavier presence than sci-fi in this series.
B) Shadow will unambiguously survive, but retreat to Mobius with Amy (she's in the core four, she NEEDS to be here). He needs somewhere to heal and it can't be on Earth, what with the terrorism.
C) If Maria's going to die, it's going to be in an explosion. Instant, but devastating. GUN wasn't formed until AFTER the first movie, but there's a theory that Tom's father is the soldier who killed Maria because it was a Soviet base during the Cold War. There's also Black Doom or a character based on him, but that's a tall order.
D) Would love the Chao (even as axolotls with wings), especially if we see Cream do cool stuff with them.
Nope, chaos wont be in the 3rd film, they never said that they're taking inspiration from sa1, and cream wont be in the 3rd film

I always thought that Maria's death could be indirectly caused by G.U.N. rather than directly; Gerald's funding by the US government was because of the space race of the 60s-70s. However, when they found out that Gerald was using their funding for research of Maria's disease, they shut down the ARK and cancelled the project's funding. It's implied that Maria eventually lost her fight against her disease, and Gerald ended up using what was left of his research to create Project Shadow.

Well…you see,how I picture the movie going down would be kinda like a mix between Spider-Man 3(2007) and Alvin & The Chipmunks The Squeakuel…As it would have Sonic,Tails,& Knuckles meeting Amy, ,& Princess Tikal like The Chipmunks meeting The Chipettes..and Sonic becoming The Werehog and The Team-Up of Dr.Eggman(Dr.Robotnik),Metal Sonic,& Shadow The Hedgehog like Spidey Turning Dark(literally) and The Spider-Man 3(2008) Villains New Goblin,Sandman,& Venom…
I think Maria will still be a young girl but they could show her getting shot by making it very flashy so you can't see it but enough to where you can tell she died since you can have people die in a PG movie.

My big hope is that Paramount doesn't censor elements of Maria, since that's what happened in the Sonic X english dub by baffingly changing her fate from dying to apperantly being "taken away", accidentially implying that she's basically imprisioned forever. Yeah.
In kids movies like Spider-Verse and Puss in Boots The Last Wish, you CAN get away with dark and scary moments. Even if it's Live Action.

I would only just let Eggman b alive and all goes well for Jim to improve the Sonic 3 movie script and comeback as Eggman for the Gerald, Maria, and Shadow stuff. Maria Robotnik will still b a kid and maybe she might die from an accident instead of getting shot by a G.U.N. soldier. Besides, the mid-credits scene of the Sonic 2 movie still proves that Eggman faked his death and disappeared since G.U.N. couldn't find any trace of his body after falling off the Death Egg machine. Jim is sure to return as Ivo Robotnik but it's all up to him if he reads the script. The retirement hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

I have my own predictions involving around Amy. At the start, she’ll be clingy and annoying like in Sonic CD, but over time, she’ll be independent and thought of a bad a@#.
I think Tom's father killed Maria So Shadow is Mad at Tom for killing Maria so this is my theory:Shadow is Obviously Angry at G.U.N so he wants to kill tom and I think tom died in the movie because of Shadow so movie sonic is angry at shadow
I have high expectations from Sonic 3, it better hold true to the lore of the world of Sonic, It must be written based on SA2 events and Amy and Rouge must appear because why not they’re so important to Shadow’s story arc.
I hope they don’t shy away from shadow’s tragic past,fans are expecting to see flash backs of what he’s been through in the arc with Maria and Gerald Robotnik.

Here's this one prediction I have for the movie:
Tom & Maddie will expecting a baby soon, and that alone would raise the stakes for Sonic & gang to save Earth from the Bio-Lizard. 😅
The two most important people in Sonic & gang's lives took them in when they lost their loved ones, and they want to lose their child & vice-versa.
As for the baby's gender & name, I have a strong feeling that Tom & Maddie might have a girl, and they would name her "Maria Rose Wachowskie", in honor of Shadow's sacrifice.
Plus "Maria Wachowskie" does have a nice ring to it (as for the "Rose" part, it's just speculation if a certain pink female hedgehog was to appear in the movie).

i think gerald will have the same role as the game, a broken man who with his last moments makes a plan to destroy those who took his grandaughter from him modifing shadow's memory to put the plan in action, gerald won't be alive but shadow it's gonna make sure his plan success thinking it was maria's idea and using agent stone as a puppet to move the plan foward to destroy earth

@@raptorzeraora2632 well heres the thing 100% tails and knuckles will just mainly be main side characters like tom and many witch makes room for amy to be in it a the main female lead and her role in the story would be more like how they did with tails in sonic 2 but just a little bit more to do in the story then tails that way they can be in the story with taking the focus off shadow and remember in sonic 2 eggman still has the sonic quill from the first movie so he can use it to make metal sonic who can replace the biolizer in the plot as the final boss in the movie and seens metal sonic can become stronger because he can copy everyones attacks he can be the thing that makes sonic and shadow team up at the end of the movie aspesaly if in the movie's metal sonic becomes even stronger by taking and haringsing the power of the master emerald going super metal sonic and if rouge is in the knuckles series I see her being a main side villain like agent stone

We don't know if they will be a 4th one and if they did they might do silver or chaos for sonic 4. 2 sonic fans will be upset if the movie is just a guys club only. 3 pat casey and josh miller said in a Q and A that they have plans for amy somehow if they didn't have plan for amy in sonic movie 3 they probably say no she not going in sonic movie 3. 5 that's like saying that tails should not have been given a role in sonic movie 2 because he's role was very short. 6 you have to remember that amy plays a important role in shadow's story she was the one to make him remember Maria's last wish for shadow to do save humanity and if they change it to someone else to make him remember you saw how people react when they change it to crist in sonic x and not amy people mad. 7 the movie has sonic growing up though out the movie so the next big step of him going up in sonic movie 3 left is four him to learn what romantic love really is because in sonic movie 1 was about him opening up to a new family and not run away from you problems and to face you problems head on sonic movie 2 was him learn what friendship really is and that he has to be more mature and services when the times come so it makes sense in the 3rd movie he learn what it truly means to love someone he sofar know what friendship and family love was and now what romantic love is yet
