It has happened though. In the book of Job it explains the earth had these creatures in verse 41:19-20. Whether you believe in the Bible or not, it supports this exact idea.
I don't recall dragons spitting fire in Job, but I agree there were large reptiles, megafauna that have been wiped out either by hunting, the Flood, or natural phenomena
@@CyrusOfNaias Job 41:1-2 ESV - Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook or press down his tongue with a cord? 2 Can you put a rope in his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook? Job 41:18-21 ESV - His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn. 19 Out of his mouth go flaming torches; sparks of fire leap forth. 20 Out of his nostrils comes forth smoke, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. 21 His breath kindles coals, and a flame comes forth from his mouth.
Using a made up book written by people high on mushrooms does nothing but only make the idea more stupid. Stick to praying to an old man instead of trying to prove science fact 😭
Could the real dragons described in history, spit poison like a Cobra, not fire, but poison that burns like fire? Think of how Beowulf died, and why Ragnar used pants coated in tar, and hair to protect him from the lind worm's poison...
I definitely love the idea of something evolving to breathe fire Like technically speaking you don't need to breathe fire or fly to be a dragon you just have to be a big powerful reptile but I'm wanting a huge group of people who don't really feel like it's a dragon till it has a breath weapon of some kind so I definitely like that there are people out here helping to prove that fire breathing could happen
Would it be possible for a creature to spit fire for an extended period of time like say a few minutes with out rest food or water and if so how long could it theoretically last with a human sized subject also would it be possible to eject this substance out of their skin and how long of a rest would a creature the size of a human to “recharge” their fire spit?
The bible isn't exactly a reliable source of information for someone that isn't catholic either way. It's the fact that what if fire breathing dragons could've existed at some point in time with the current knowledge we have about nature
They can exist depending on the enviroment. but not on earth or this dimension. Proably higher realms or different planets. Maybe deep within the earth that has a more extreme enviroment..
Could it fly, though? Because sure, a sentient flamethrower is already cool, but a flying sentient flamethrower is even better.

Makes fuel out of its stomach, cooks its meal, then fills its stomach with food.
Fire-breathing dragons are my favorite animal, bar none.

There's a description of one in the Bible.. but I cannot remember if it flies or not
Interesting that the Bible actually talks abut fire breathing creatures having existed in the past.

The Bible talks about leviathan describes a T-Rex, and then says that I can shoot fire from its mouth?? maybe we should look into that
