He always seems to be. He is one of the most accurate guitarists I have ever seen. Actually, this is one of the most accurate bands I have ever seen. They usually sound just like their studio recordings.
@@znet9452 I see ‘Is This It’ and ‘Room On Fire’ as being the same album. They are both very similar tonally, structurally, and even in length. It’s almost as if it’s a double album in my opinion. I hold both of them up equally. They both have such great things on them. I’m a pretty big fan of ‘First Impressions’ too. It was a nice departure and has a few of my favorite Strokes songs on it but it also has a few weak spots as well. Something their first two do not have. Quick question though: are you talking about the original release of ‘Is This It’ with New York City Cops and the salacious album cover?
Is This It (in my opinion) makes a very good finisher to the setlist. I wish to see Is This It as the second to last song in a future live performance though, simply because of it's title. :D

Saw the Strokes so many times. Glasgow Green 2001 - the day that changed my life. Amazing gig. Edinburgh 2002 - can't remember if it was the Corn Exchange or Liquid Rooms. Glasgow 2003 - Braehead Arena. Best gig ever. Just after Room on Fire. T in the park 2004 - Julian completely drunk as you see above. Glasgow Academy 2006 - not a great gig. Band seemed bored. Glasgow Braehead Arena (2007?) - when the barrier at the front broke and show was delayed. T in the park 2011 - crap show. Band not interested. Crowd felt it.
@@nadafro3116 some of the Glasgow green gig was shown on telly afterwards. Only about 2 songs - Hard to Explain and NYC Cops. I used to have it on an old video tape.

Yes indeed. Saw them in concert in 2003 and it was amazing.
@@attentiondeficitsquirrel7660room on fire and is this it are a lot different from each other. Same production but room on fire is a lot more complex
The Strokes are the best American band since The Doors Jules reminds me so much of Jim Morrison
No!!
dude thats exactly how i feel , just except a little poetic quality thats missing ever since Jim Morrison
Love u put doors and the strokes un the dame sentence
I was there 20 years ago today. This was the very gig that set me on my musical path and liking proper music!❤
But man I feel old 😢
Albert's fingers and guitar strings during Reptilia and Last Nite !!!! I'm amazed, fireeeeeeeeeeeee
You know this is 10 years old when... 4:37
couldnt agree more
It's funny because people are starting to reuse them in 2019
@Talorc MacAllan He's talking about the girl with the camera you genius.
19:03 :D

No! Now they always begin by the first and the last title of their first album : Is this it and Take it or leave it. And this is very intelligent.

Hermoso...
Grandioso tenerlos a ellos.
Estoy en 2024 y este concierto sigue siendo mi favorito de ellos...
This is for anyone who wants an extended versions of there songs haha. Great show!
the best rock band of 00's
Ah I remember this night. I was at the front.
doesnt matter that julian was drunk as hell that day, singing drunk is his style!
More than ten years ago and they're still rules
4:40 Someday
8:10 Reptillia
22:49 Is This It
This band is so good live
What a fucking great cover of the clash
im always here
So slow, so good!
Clampdown is now my favourite song by the strokes
It's a cover of a Clash song.
When the rest of the band has to play progressively slower throughout the song, because Julian is too drunk to keep up...
That would be the drummer....no band goes off the vocals..
@@tzing2589 I think the drummer did it for Julian. Maybe to help him pace himself because he doesnt look too sober
@@takemeout5687 Julian was sober in 2004

I've been surprised to see them playing Clampdown. The song just started and I "Well, isn't it The Clash?"
Clampdown, my God love them so much

Man - Nick must've been taking guitar steroids or something!
Proper music.
Fantastic concert!
Amé todo el video *-*
Buenisima banda. Lastima q ahora el rock ah decaido
9:17 jim morrison is that you?
I truly believe Casablancas is the Jim Morrison of this era. If Jim made music in this era, it would sound like The Strokes.
@@3rdeye931 casablancas repeatedly references the doors in his interviews and his vocal style is influenced (practically 100%) by Morrison

It is his style. Like Slash's style is very much based around cigarettes. even though he doesnt smoke anymore.

Why are most of the songs slowed down live?
Because Julian is usually rather drunk.
4:20 totally thought there was a swastika flag
Why are they playing so slow?....
Bc they’re wasted 😂

drunk?
