Hoffmans acting in this scene is just as good as the more dramatic scenes in the film. He just nails the accent, the mannerisms, everything. Brilliant.
RIP Truman Capote (September 30, 1924 - August 25, 1984), aged 59 RIP Harper Lee (April 28, 1926 - February 19, 2016), aged 89 RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman (July 23, 1967 - February 2, 2014), aged 46 You will be remembered as legends.
Perhaps with the exception of Robert Downey Jr in Chaplain I cant think of anyone who took on the role of a real life character and better nailed that person Its like Hoffman morphed into Capote
I know how this story ends and I know this story is nothing like the story of Truman Capote in the Swans, but coming from Feud to here I can't help but think - he seems more relaxed with Harper Lee then he does in any of the scenes with the Swans when they was still talking to him. Seemed happier with his old friend - and he threw it away because of the life he wanted...... I wonder how scene would go down with Harper Lee and with the Swans? A lawyer's daughter from Alabama who became a famous author and who by all accounts hated the spotlight amongst New York socialites who make a point of always being in the spotlight.
I think Capote would have ruled this times, he just have that kind of personality and he would have been clever enough to use Podcasts befoee anyone else

Yes. One of a kind brilliance.
This will possibly go down at the greatest biopic performance in history. Possibly the best performance in general, ever.
DDL-Lincoln
*True. But the other movie capote is better in my opinion because the actor not only sounds but also looks like capote.*
It's up there with Lincoln and Ray.
PSH Capote>DDL Lincoln. Gary Oldman as Sid Vicious was also amazing.
Agreed
She keeps/kept him honest.
A true friend.
".......How did you know!?"
That part always gets me XD
Yup. You think he might try a double down on it, but he saw Harper's face and just gave it up. LOL
He did a very good job on the voice.
Never knew you but miss you Philip. Movies aren't the same without you ❤
RIP, "Nell Harper Lee".

Sad to think PSH's whole life played out within Lee's lifetime. He had so much more to give
UGH this makes me so mad how good this scene is and two legends interacting like this

Dad hit me first and knocked me down...
It is known that Truman Capote struggled with mental health and would do things like this.
Great performance great scene
He looks like he would have bad breath
Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaat???
Well he was drunk most of the time, so probably
Drank like a fish and smoked like a chimney, so probably, lol
He did put alot of weiners in there
The world lost a real talent with him.
Actually I was thinking of Hoffman. Capote was a little before my time.
Both.
