Berwick resident here. The Border Belle will go up the River Tweed to the stately home, Paxton House on some trips. The skipper keeps a close eye on weather and conditions and can tailor a trip between the sea, the estuary and up river and according to the passenger preferences. There is a lot to see whichever direction it takes, including dolphins and Minke whales just out past the pier. I definitely recommend it to visitors if you can get on.

Love the walk from Berwick up to Horncliffe Village. Its about 7 miles and takes you on the Union Chain Bridge along the River Tweed. The pub has been taken over in the village and now reopened with rooms available which makes it an even better walk.
We go a couple of times a year to get some headspace from the city bustle and Berwick is the perfect size and location for a getaway

I am glad I visited before I thought to look up videos. Not knowing what to expect of the town or know what was round the next corner was part of the enjoyment of exploring the place. Nice to see the video after though.

I am from Toronto Canada, my dad was born in Berwick 1923 he left 1943 on a ship WW2 and after the war migrated to Canada; he told me that in the 1930s Berwick was a close-knit and very tough place to be in.

Shame you didn't walk around the Town Walls, the only remaininh intact Elizabeathan Walls that provided defence for not only Berwick, but the rest of England. The old canons are still there, these were actually fired by a local David Noble to prove they could still work. Berwick is steeped in history byt unfortunately needs a lot of investment to keep the town alive. As recently as the 70s it was a busy, thriving town that people from all over the Borders and Northumberland would visit for ahopping and socialising. My grandfather swt up and ran a shop there, Joe's, that became a Berwick institution. They used to say if you needed something but didn't know where to get it, Joes would either sell it or Joe (my Grandad) would be able to get it for you, from carpets or furniture to fruit and vegetables. Sadly, those Golden Days of Berwick Upon Tweed (not Upon The Tweed) are long gone. There are still beautiful parts of Berwick which were sadly missed out on this video.

Thank you, we didn’t have a lot of time there, we were just passing through. But will definitely go back one day and stay a bit longer to do more filming, it’s definitely a lovely place.

The River is the Tweed, which provides the Border between England and Scotland further upstream.

Yet another interesting video ruined by the gormless background racket, and it's completely pointless. But it's intrusive and bloody annoying.
