love the intro! I think that the thalmor have a reason to be angry well some guy came with a robot and fucked you up then made you bend the knee. the anti talos sentiment is understandable but the anti man sentiment is not because some people may not know what talos really did.
I just started a new game with a High Elf character and I wanted to give them a non-Thalmor backstory so this gave me a few things I could incorporate. I imagine her as a sort of spellsword who specializes in recovering arcane treasures and hunting down daedra/undead and evil mages. She is going to side with the Imperials because she knows the Thalmor are using the Stormcloaks to destabilize the Empire.
My Altmer had the backstory of being a rogue Thalmor agent. Was all on board with the racial supremacy rhetoric at first but after becoming an agent, he found out that he just didnt actually have the stomach for carrying out ethnic cleansing and such. He went AWOL from a mission in Hammerfell, fled to Cyrodiil, and set up shop as an enchanter in Chorrol under a new name. Fled to Skyrim after getting a visit from some Thalmor goons one day who were there to arrest him, and got caught by the Empire while crossing the province border. Sided with the Empire because he's all too familiar with the dossier and how the Stormcloaks benefit the Thalmor
If anything it's the High Elves that give Elves a bad name :| Thalmor or otherwise, they've always been assholes. Even bigger assholes than Dunmer which is an achievement in and of itself.

I have seen alot reddit threads talking about which race would side with the imperials or Stormcloaks and high elves are always neutral because misinformation makes everyone think they are all Thalmor. Hell the Thalmor are hated by the Altmer of the Summerset Isles too because the Thalmor philosophy is fucked up and the Thalmor subjugate other Altmer but they can't do anything about it because the Thalmor run the government. Thats why even as a high elf I side with the Stormcloaks because a government like the Empire who lets the Thalmor do what ever they want to their citizens is just allowing the Thalmor to have an easier time taking over when they feel like it.

Skyrim is the quintescence of an immersive RPG game, you can do whatever you want, have many styles of figting, the narration, the music, landcapes! You can install very cool mods and DLC! ;) All is great! I'm actualy writting a fan fiction with a high elf as a hero. ^^

I always find it amusing when pixies boast about how high and mighty they are, same with pinkskins boasting about their overrated empire. It matters not, just more mortal animus for me to fill my gem collection for that tool and weapon upkeep, and my general amusement. The only somewhat tolerable mortals are those cats, lizards and green things with the jaws.
This is why I am still glad that my first Skyrim character was an Aldmer. Having outstanding individuals from amongst them that both reject and actively oppose their influence is a most appreciable thing.
well I also know a group that opposes the Thalmor though not majority Altmer did include Altmer were the knights of the nine sine the order believed in Talos (that's right Talos worshipping Altmer if you can believe that) as the Ninth divine but we're most likely driven out by the Thalmor during the great war and invasion of Cyrodiil but that is speculation and of course there were members of the blades that were all races including Altmer but I think there needs to be a prominent Altmer faction that opposes the Thalmor in the game what do you think? Yes the Dragonborn High Elf would most likely be opposed to the Thalmor. Auriel would likely gift this particular Altmer to save Nirn and perhaps take the Thalmor down a notch. They wouldn't be the only High Elf to oppose them though. See the Imperial Legate in the Rift, South of Ivarstead.
Nope, most High Elves are non-Thalmor. If you read the in-game books called Rising Threat, and talk to Legate Fasendil about Night of the Green Fire, you'll find out that many Altmer are opposed to the Thalmor and ended up getting killed for it.
The most satisfying thing about playing a high elf is objecting and actively working against the Thalmor regime. My first Skyrim playthrough was a high elf for this very reason.

Absolutely. Akatosh once roamed Nirn as the avatar Auriel, the diety within the Elven pantheon of Aedra. So it makes complete sense that the Dovahkiin is a high elf. It also makes sense with delphine's high suspicions and seemingly racist attitude towards the Dragonborn.

The one thing I have issue with is the statement that ALL the refugees were killed. while I know that this isn't RL it bothers me the idea that in the chaos that nobody escaped. But even if so i believe that there should be other groups of refugees elsewhere across Tamriel or the Empire.

Dark Elves will be the reason why the Thalmor falls. Why you ask well they will think Morrowind is very weak which they aren't they have a formidable military in the time of Skyrim. Anyways the Thalmor will soon realize they picked on the wrong elf. I say this because the High Elves have a hatred so much for the Dark Elves it's greater than the Men

I think Skyrim brainwashed several people to hate the Thalmor and high elves but its usually because of their individual personalities. In reality, they oppose Tiber Septim who is praised by most skyrim fan boys as a hero... but this guy went to every single province and practically said "join my empire or die" and so many were killed NOW if the Thalmor did the exact same thing, there would be riots everywhere by Skyrim fan boys. Its all perspective but I actually believe Bethesa have made the Thalmor the good guys but perceived them so badly so that it sparks continious debate in the community. My theory is that ofc the Imperials beat the Stormcloaks, the worship of Talos remains banned and the next TES game is in Summerset Isles, hence why that area hasnt been opened in ESO and doesnt seem like theres any plans to anytime soon.
The Thalmor have completely legitimate reasons to do what they do. You may disagree with their methods, but the empire does the same as them with their Penitus Occulatus.
I like that the storylines are flexible in this way, it leaves room for future fabrication. Unlike the Wolf Queen. As I like to call Queen Potato (Potema Septim boggles the mind abit doesn't it. Who's baby was that) We read half of the books in Cyrodill of the Wolf Queen and we finished her story in Skyrim. Dragonborn literally had to beat this bitch back off the Mundus. Now her story is 100% finished. Nope ain't coming back. The Altemer well it's gonna be a long time before their story is ever gonna be truly over. Maybe it will be in Elder Scrolls 6 hopefully we get to put the hammer down in Hammerfall. Ah shit this was 6 years ago. Lol

History will repeat itself with the Dragonborn born. He will mantle Talos by conquering summerset isles. It's just my opinion.

Dark Elves will be the reason why the Thalmor falls. Why you ask well they will think Morrowind is very weak which they aren't they have a formidable military in the time of Skyrim. Anyways the Thalmor will soon realize they picked on the wrong elf. I say this because the High Elves have a hatred so much for the Dark Elves it's greater than the Men

Saying all altmer are thalmor is like saying all germans are nazis or should I say the waffen ss. Its pretty ignorant and downright idiotic to think that you could judge an entire race from a group of genocidal maniacs that happen to be of the same race.
I think Skyrim brainwashed several people to hate the Thalmor and high elves but its usually because of their individual personalities.
In reality, they oppose Tiber Septim who is praised by most skyrim fan boys as a hero... but this guy went to every single province and practically said "join my empire or die" and so many were killed
NOW if the Thalmor did the exact same thing, there would be riots everywhere by Skyrim fan boys.
Its all perspective but I actually believe Bethesa have made the Thalmor the good guys but perceived them so badly so that it sparks continious debate in the community.
My theory is that ofc the Imperials beat the Stormcloaks, the worship of Talos remains banned and the next TES game is in Summerset Isles, hence why that area hasnt been opened in ESO and doesnt seem like theres any plans to anytime soon.

I like that the storylines are flexible in this way, it leaves room for future fabrication. Unlike the Wolf Queen. As I like to call Queen Potato (Potema Septim boggles the mind abit doesn't it. Who's baby was that) We read half of the books in Cyrodill of the Wolf Queen and we finished her story in Skyrim. Dragonborn literally had to beat this bitch back off the Mundus. Now her story is 100% finished. Nope ain't coming back. The Altemer well it's gonna be a long time before their story is ever gonna be truly over. Maybe it will be in Elder Scrolls 6 hopefully we get to put the hammer down in Hammerfall. Ah shit this was 6 years ago. Lol
