Love Oblivions jank, the Highwayman was more upset that A Bard's Ballad had committed a crime after becoming one of the Knights of the nine that he didn't mug him, a highwayman took the time to stop mugging and murdering people for a day just to tell you that you aren't cool because you committed a crime and did a bad thing.
When you tell the highwayman you have no money: "Times are hard when a robber can't even make an honest living." Also interesting when you pay them: From UESP: "The Highwayman will then take 100 gold from you and walk away. If you pay the Highwayman, you can pickpocket the money back - and he doesn't care - nor will you have a bounty, because of the Highwayman's low responsibility." So it's just some mutual robbing. All in good spirits.
@@ABardsBallad If you want to give back to the site, the UESP has a patreon and sends out TES goodie boxes every year, including a calendar that has all the Tamrielic holidays. :)
Pretty much anyone that seeks powerful or hidden knowledge, does his bidding whether consciously or not. Knowledge is power, and ambition leads to power. And in skyrim, you can even see cabbage merchants having some sort of goal of control and expansion. It seems like tamriel is littered with an abundance of ambition. 😅
Because he knows that everyone does. You don't visit his shrine to oppose him. You go there to get something. Usually knowledge or power. And knowledge is power. So it' obvious that everyone who comes before him will do his bidding to gain knowedge. He would absolutely be the god of learning. Not teaching, but learning.
One thing I learned while playing the game is that, if you've completed the Thieves' Guild quest line, some bandits and highwaymen will not be aggressive anymore and even try to be your pal. That's even when you aren't wearing the mask.
Always enjoy seeing you upload! As someone obsessed with player housing in Bethesda games, I think a series covering all the houses from the base game and its DLC would be awesome to see. The various quests, lore, and upgrades. Keep up the great work!
Oblivion my first love a game I never truly explored because I got it the summer of 2011. Watching videos like this make me wanna play through again and actually explore better.
I always used to do this quest with killing bandits in Camps and marauders outside and inside of certain Forts/Ayleid ruins. I believe all races are divided 50/50 for Bandits and Marauders. Bandit - Wood Elf, Dark Elf, Redguard, Breton (Wizard), Khajiit Marauder - High Elf (Wizard), Imperial, Nord, Orc, Argonian Also I never met Casta Flavus. I always had that shrine already found beforehand, so Casta didn't spawn for me ever. I, for some reason, always remembered its destination, probably back from long ago when I used to watch my brother play this game. So Casta Flavus is something new for me and that is nice to find something new about this game!
This was the only quest I could not get, looked all over online back in 2010 but couldn’t find out how to start it, now it’s 14 years later and I finally got a answer lmao
I never get to this quest, because it would require me to complete the Clavicus Vile quest. Doing so would either cost me Umbra, or cause Umbra to weigh more than the 0 pounds it weighs while the quest is active.
Indeed they do. There is a very interesting part if you have done certain things: - If you have completed the Main Quest, there is a 2-3% chance (depending upon disposition) that a Highwayman will be friendly. Furthermore, if he is the first Khajiit you have met since completing the main quest, he will always say: "The bards will be busy composing songs in your honor for years to come. To think that we lived through such times!" - If you have completed the Knights of the Nine questline, there is a 20% chance that he will greet you as the Divine Crusader or as Sir Knight. The exact greeting will vary depending upon his Disposition towards you. This option can even be triggered if you have gained infamy since completing the questline (in which case he is disgusted by you). You can even pickpocket your money back without getting a bounty. And the highwayman won't care.
@@ABardsBallad It's actually rather OP in Arena. It gives you 50 points to boost your attributes at you own choosing. But there is an interesting twist. Arena limits the player to only one Artifact such as Lords Mail, Auriels Bow etc. per playthrough (without bug exploits). But because the Oghma disappears after using it, it actually returns the pool of artifacts and you can look for it again and again until you have 100 in all attributes and the cherry on top is after all that, with the Oghma gone again, you can then go find another artifact for your "One Artifact" for the rest of the game.
love the videos you put out.. they've gotten me to the cusp of inspiration.. close to getting back in to making videos for a couple of different channels i have good game stuff you do here
I like how he's supposed to look like this unknowable abstract lovecraftian monstrosity so hideous and overwhelmingly huge that merely looking upon his true form would kill you, but when he speaks he just sounds like a fat kid putting on his best monster voice to try and scare a younger sibling.
I know I've said this before relatively recently Bard but I really appreciate your vids, always calming for me regardless what I'm going through that day.
Ok, imagine though. You're living the bandit life, stealing petty cash from travelers. You see a rich target, and then your soul is being used to tell a horoscope.

Very true! I do believe you’re right that it’s a 50/50! I found Flavus very interesting! I don’t think we see him again at all for anything else!
The sight of an Oblivion gate is always quite shocking, especially seeing one next to Vilverin where you start the game!

Wes Johnson really upgraded his voice acting for Herma Mora in Skyrim than he did Oblivion XD

The Oghma Infinium was also an item in Elder Scrolls 1: Arena but it wasn't a relic of Hermaeus Mora since he hadn't been crated at that point.
Ahh interesting I didn’t know that! Cheers! :)

Speaking of the Infinium in Skyrim, does anyone think that Mora would be mad or amused by the glitch that allows the player to duplicate copies?
My my, what a clever mortal ... this one has managed to manipulate the facilities and fabrics of their known reality!
I bet he’d love the forbidden knowledge aspect of it 👀

7:10 This game is so goddamn stupid, I love it so much.
I have never done this quest before, why is he so hard to understand though?
I don’t think I’ve ever used the book, in any game at all. I’m always double guessing myself as to what I want to put the points towards.
i believe ive never actually seen this quest, i kinda dont wanna watch it so i can experience it myself...
I wonder if a Knight of Order would actually work for this quest.
I woulda just took the free 3 souls of 3 different races thats right by that statue lol. Or does that soft lock?

I use to think you were a hero. A holy knight and all that. I guess I should have known better.
