This is a great old Peavey amp from 1979, and it's mostly original. I'll give it a thorough cleaning, but mostly I intend to mod this one to run an external speaker. Follow along as I show you how to add an external speaker jack to any amp. Hope you enjoy.

Nicely done 👍
Thanks 👍
Cool! My first amp was one of those, back in the late 70s 😊
Those Peaveys are great!
Great mod! I feel like I have an older practice amp that I might be able to give some new life to now.
Nice!
Think I'll add an external jack to my '75 Marshall Lead 20 when I open it up to replace the burned-out lighted power switch. Was contemplating it, now I have to. Thanks.
It’s a great upgrade.
I appears I have managed to screw up this mod
Don’t get the speaker wires coming from the board reversed!
@ When you wired from the shunted jack to the speaker, did you continue the reversed dark and light color pattern? I’m new to wiring so I’m unsure what’s positive and negative on the speaker terminals
The jack to the speaker wiring doesn’t matter as much, but my speaker had a red dot on the positive terminal. If you don’t understand positive and negative, I don’t recommend trying this mod.
@@hacksguitarhobby Turns out I had just soldered to the wrong parts of the jack. Everything should be correct now but still no sound. I did turn it on when it was wiring improperly so perhaps I broke a part of the amp which isn’t a biggie. The amp was just sitting around collecting dust anyways. Although, I am using a thicker wire gauge from the speaker to the jack than the amp to the jack. Could that possibly be my issue or should I just call my loses?
Additionally, I did properly ground the amp and the speaker when I had the wiring wrong
