- Thousands of migrant families living in New York City’s emergency shelter system are being told they need to clear out, with no guarantee they’ll find a bed elsewhere. Homeless migrants and their children were limited to 60 days in city housing under an order issued in October by Mayor Eric Adams.

This is crazy, not once has American citizen families been given free shelter at a hotel, not during a natural disaster or homelessness

American veterans living with disabilities are on the streets. These people get free cell phones, $5000 gift cards and they've also had first class accommodations. Why aren't the politicians who wanted them here opening up their homes? Because they don't want them either.

What I heard on a podcast recent is doctors without boarders and two other humanitarian agencies are telling these ppl to come into the US. They’re given maps, contacts and money.

I am an American that has always worked, got laid off, was served an eviction notice for owing only the current months rent at the time (Minnesota Law), and was evicted with my 72 year old mom and 2 bunnies. I was never offered a night in hotel. I know what it’s like to be on hard times and have empathy for the migrants and their kids, but for the lady to cry thinking here would be different. How so? Then there is the pregnant one, I mean there is an American dream or an American nightmare, and there is no in-between.
I don’t understand why do they think that we’re obligated to care for this nonsense when we have so much homeless people in this country. They have choices to go back home

I’m living in a homeless shelter and working every day. This shelter has a limited number of beds, and Venezuelan illegals keep coming and taking up spots. I’ve slept on the streets a few times because I didn’t get a bed.
It’s deeply enraging and shameful of what this country has become. Americans are bending over backwards for illegals because of politics, while homeless Americans are staying homeless because their resources are being stolen.
I didn't know this was happening in the United States. I didn't know you Americans were going through such a hard situation 😢

They get like 5000 on a visa card and shelter in hotels for just a couple months. After their visa runs out that is it. U either have a job then or not. But it hard because some can't find a job w not being a citizen here so it mostly has to be a cash job. But we have actual homeless and veterans who are actually citizens here that can't get free hotel or money like these people are. Not even for couple months. Quito and Guayaquil are both very modern and clean cities, there's no trash or homeless people on the streets, the buildings are impeccably clean and well-maintained, and they have accessible and affordable healthcare. Nobody is keeping track of those migrants once they get to NYC. Even if we wanted to deport them, there is no way of tracking them all down at this point. Remember, most of them arrive without any papers, so we wouldn’t know if they are who they say they are, where they say they are from, etc., even if we were to keep accurate record of who arrives here, where they live, etc.

I was sleeping on the floor in a gym bathroom several months ago after I got out of the US Military, while these non-citizens have been staying in a hotel with free food and amenities provided by the government. Make it make sense. 🤷♂️
I do feel bad for these women with children, but I think this video trying to paint the whole situation in a sympathetic light by only interviewing two mothers is insanely wrong. Most of these migrants are ADULT MALES who barely speak English, and shouldn’t be migrating to begin with. I was born in America, I’ve never been to another country, and I was HOMELESS after I got out of the military very recently. I wouldn’t wish homelessness on anyone, but it’s not fair that these people come over here when there’s not even enough resources to keep VETERANS with honorable service record from being on the streets.

As an immigrant myself to the United States over 40 years ago had to work hard to integrate myself into and embrace its culture. So many of the immigrants new to the United States today don’t want to do that. Instead they want to want to bring their culture here which makes me wonder why they ever left their homelands to begin with.

Why doesn't the AP reporter mention the FACT that NYC has agreed to pay for a flight back to their home country. The report is manipulative. She is crying as though she has a sealed fate of living on the street, however, this is not accurate. She can go back to her family and homeland...FOR FREE!!

Those rooms a night must cost a few hundred bucks. I’m convince those hotel owners are getting compensated by the city for allowing people to stay for free. It’s insane. A lot of migrants come to this country in hopes it’s a socialist country. But once they’re here they learn first hand it’s not.
Of course the hotels are getting paid to take those people in - anywhere from $300 to $500 per NIGHT, depending on whether its one person or a family. The year before the Roosevelt Hotel was taken over for the migrants, I stayed there just ONE night for a trip and it was $326.

Our veterans who served this country and are sick were thrown out from their own shelters because of this. This is a multimillion dollar business benefiting the hotel industry and was paid with tax payers money.

Its terrible that inspectors and slumlords get away with dangerous building violations at the expense of the poor people. No help if American. Look how NYCHA residents have been ignored living on bad conditions. Red carpet welcome all free if migrant illegal. They are fed well, have better new clothes and phones than many here who are struggling or homeless. Expect luxury hotels forever have entitlement attitude. All are government/state/city funded free at hard working taxpayers expense. Plus our services are being cut to pay for them. Its going to get worse as more continue to flood here. Many people at first refused the tent shelter but now it is filled to capacity with no vacancies. Looks like they got off that high horse and now consider themselves lucky if they can get to stay in the tent shelter.

Nothing is free specially in this country even if you come with plans of staying at a family’s house or a friend’s it is always temporary then you have to start paying for rent and if you decide to do the trip bring lots of money to be able to do pay all of it while you find a job to pay for your own expenses! I came here at 16 twelve years ago, lived in a living room, worked and went to school. Learned english, got three degrees, now I work a decent job, married, pay my taxes, and I cant tell you how frustrating it is to see taxes going to waste towards entitled people who just got here yesterday and through illegal means.
Now I must say, I am not against supporting those in need, but you know what also breaks my heart, knowing that there are people out there who were either born here or got here through proper channels and had bad luck in life and have to sleep on the streets or have no support whatsoever from our officials.

We all know how long it took us to get here and how many jobs and night shifts our parents had to endure to put food on the table. We didn’t expect any handouts.
