Its mindblowing that professional develepers can't do game like this. Star Wars ip is so big with endless ideas for games and still we lack games of this ip so much. Its literally money printer
They need these guys to help them make the next epic star wars game for sure, they have done so god damn well with the scale and design, IMO they have shit over these AAA companies with this
I don't like playing Squad. And thats the only thing stopping me from playing Galactic Contention. I love how this looks. I love the work they've done. I love the models and everything.. But f*ck Squad lmao
And to make this better, the devs actally talk on the GC discord as well. They give sneak peaks, and sometimes people from the community also works on a few things. Also the at-te can climb, and that is why it is jank and glitching out because it thinks it should climb but it should not climb. And the wait for combat its not bad. I highly recommend jointing us for the most awsome star wars battles
This is an amazing mod. Definitely what I want from an official game. It would be nice to see more 'realistic' combat games in the SW universe like this.

One of my favorite things to play atm, I have 150 hours in this mod I’ve never even played normal squad, it certainly has a large learning curve but when u get the hang of it it’s so much fun and can be extremely fast paced when a round gets going, if ur squad leader has a rally down u can respawn on them every 30 seconds so u don’t necessarily have to run 500m every death u just need a decent squad

He even called the Constellation, his Star Citizen take on the Millennium Falcon. And they didn't make that half hour video showing off the Star Engine for nothing. They intend to license it to people who make games.
@@paulallen2680 Since the StarEngine is done, a Star Wars, or Mass Effect, or Halo, or The Expanse, or any other scifi game could be made in around 3 or 4 years. It would mostly depend on how far they wanted to go with it. But, if they wanted to use the Assassin's Creed model, the first game wouldn't have to have every single feature they wanted to add. The second game could include more. DLCs could be sold to add some of the new features to the older games.

Galactic Contention is one of many reasons why we all messed up by buying AAA studio trash games... Battlefront 2 sucked, Battlefield 2042 sucked, COD warzone 2... And the only thing big game companies learned from those trash games is that they should just spend more on marketing rather than actually making a fun game...
It's a shame that the teamwork element of Squad is kind of missing in galactic contention. You can even see it in the video - no one is talking, no one is sticking with their squad, there is no strategy or plan.

This mod is amazing and the devs are still planning on adding a lot more! I heard they're working on an Umbara map and they're bringing Mandalorians in as well.
Wow, this is my first time getting a peek at this game, and I was imagining Umbarans being incorporated near the end of the video but thought, "Nah, these dudes wouldn't bother working for free to put _that_ in..." Sweet stuff, happy to know this exists and is being actively grown and enjoyed.
GC is great. If you do play it though, I'd like to ask to co-ordinate and listen to your squad if you can. It makes the experience 100x better for everyone, including yourself. Playing with your squad leader, helping to build FOBs and place rallies for your squad or team, sticking together, etc. means you end up dying less and even if you die, you don't have to wait on a transport or walk a thousand miles. I really wish the Squad devs got around to actually fixing bugs that prevent you from joining modded servers, some have been around since forever. edit: notable that you can deploy the bipod on certain weapons, like the clone gatling gun. It makes said weapons way, way, way more usable.
i hope we get to experience an official star wars game similar to how this mod is, it would be the perfect star wars game! and a dream game come true for many!
I really hope they can make a deal with Disney to develop this into a "real" Star Wars game, like they did with Starship Troopers: Extermination which started out as a Squad mod as well. Can we please have nice things for once?

It's honestly crazy that the best star wars game I've ever played was a mod. Sitting in the turret of a LAAT and coordinating with the pilot has to be one of the funnest things

The SBD had more detail than every single official SW first person shooter in existance. All of them had the blaster arm pointing forward even when you're running which is not right.
My only problem is playing as the clones it is real hard to see the CIS from far away. Unsure if there is a something I need to adjust, if anyome knows let me know, thanks!
I love the mod but it just makes it to where you have do to much. Battlefront is just way more accessible over the long haul. I’ve tried to get my starwars friends on it but they just don’t like all the super tactical stuff
I'd love for this to have full blown bot support, that way, people who like me, don't enjoy multiplayer could still play it and also, it will live on long after people lose interest in it.
What ruined DICE battlefront is that they wanted to do the same thing as Original SW battlefront 2 wich was shit compare to original Battlefront 1 .. The introduction of " Heros '" and Jedi etc.. has ruined the balance of the squad base gameplay and as made Battlefront shit to me i loved ORIGINAL BATTLEFRONT 1 and hated Original Battlefront 2 because of this .. I always dreamed for DICE to make a proper battlefront game base on Infantry and vehicles vs infantry and vehicules with ADS etc.. Not the clown casual game they have put on .. the aiming the shooting the Heros just make it a mess .. And its what ruined its popularity to please a small very vocal fan base of the Original SW battlefront 2 wich to me was pure SHIT ! All you do in the shitconcept Original Battlefront 2 is geting farmed by Heros and cheaters playing with Heros .. and it become a joke of a game ..Everyones should be Infantry and vehicles pîlots in SWBF DICE should have made a Star wars battlefield .. Instead of a Original Star wars battlefront 2 game sequels !

It just shows the impact of EA's greed and laziness and how it ruined an entire generation for an actually good Star Wars game. We could have had an absolutely amazing version of this. This mod is leaps and bounds ahead of battlefront, hands down

It just recently got a major update. I think the old version had become incompatible with modern squad.

EA was so close to something incredible with SWBF2. Everything was there but that sense of scale and sandbox is missing
Squad is only fun if you have friends to play with. If you’re playing with randoms you will have near 0 fun because only a small handful of them talk.
