The number in yellow(or in the middle) means the number of sets for the match. Usually, volleyball goes to a best of three or best of five sometimes. A volleyball set ends when a team reaches 25 points or under a deuce situation at 24, whoever gets two points first wins. :)

Just found your video on my recommended! Haikyuu is honestly such a great show: the creator, Haruichi Furudate, grew up playing volleyball and did great research on the mechanics of volleyball (even studied in the men's national team in Brazil, I believe), there is amazing character development, the comedy is great, and the animations are SICK. I hope you get a chance to watch it (maybe do reaction videos to the series? I'd love to watch!) #Subscribed
That freak toss-spike combo gain popularity in that anime because it is done in minus tempo. Meaning the spiker will run and jump before the setter toss the ball.
The match with inarizaki was amazing. There was a lot of cool scenes. The growth in the team from the 1st season to the end of the 4th season (inarizaki match) is crazy!
The animation of the broken glasses was a memory from the past where they lost on that team basically it is showing that they are breaking or surpassing their past
The charm of the show its that it doesn't seem super over dramatized unlike other shows. To the uninitiated on the sport it seems and sounds legit with some obvious dramatization, but nothing super over the top (the sport aspects of course)
you should watch the entire series in full. it perfectly reveals the volleyball itself, the audience explains the techniques, serves and everything else. and also in the series there are many amazing characters, not only Hinata, they are all great.
for sure you have to check this! it's so enjoyable that in some point you get so immersed in the story you'll find yourself screaming at 3:00am every point in the game!
@@jumpguyty yeah, it was super cool watching your reactions on Hinata's attacks, i just typed the first thing that came into my mind whem i saw the thumbnail
This is a compilation of teams being hit with the monster quick, FOR THE FIRST TIME. That's the major reason for the "freeze" shown every time. Also, his best jumps, the ones when he's not being pulled around by his momentum, come much later. This story is originally a manga\comic, and the anime hasn't gotten to the point where Hinata figures out how to jump properly. This story is one of my favorites, so it would be awesome if those got analyzed, too, at some point! Thanks for the great reactions to Haikyuu!
The context matters a lot actually, the story is that the setter sets too fast for anyone's good except this kid and the setter actually waits for the kid to jump and then throws the ball into his hands in midair. It's a set faster than 1st tempo because of this
YOU NEED TO WATCH THE WHOLE SHOW, your gonna love it considering its a volleyball anime!! theres so many more teams and characterss, YOU NEED TO WATCH THE WHOLE SHOW!!
@@doni8174though I think its definitely higher since I’m 174cm and my standing reach is 224cm and my friend is 186 and his standing reach is higher than mine by 20cm, Thus when hinata reaches 333 at 164 might have a standing reach of 200-210 depending on arm extension making him at vert of around 48 inches and since after timeskip, he jumps a head higher which can be 20cm+, hence he reaches at least 353cm. When deducted by my standing reach, which is higher than hinata’s height of 171.4cm, is already higher than 50inches which is a underestimate.
This Anime is definitely not stupid. Not only athletics animations. Different teams, players and their psychology, motivations ,values. Last anime season was just goose bumps for me. Like in previous seasons Kōtarō Bokuto answers Kei Tsukishima question about motivations, how he trained, and then in real game saw the difference, and that was the moment he got hooked on volleyball and training hard. How effort and results disconnected by long spans of time connect for him at that moment. This is one of those amines that has insane depth towards characters, psychology and how it all comes together to form strong teams.
@@jumpguyty Yeah serves would be a good one. This is probably the only compilation that would be hard to analyse for you since Hinata's quick is probably the only that isn't realistic in the anime (although not impossible to do). So any other haikyuu video would be so much easier for you to analyse.
I definitely don't think there is anything stupid about Haiykuu and I'm sorry if I gave you that feeling. I'm very excited to do my 3rd reaction this week!
As for Haikyuu, I gotta say one thing Ive learned after watching some real volleyball after is that they really did their research on volleyball before animating it. Every position has a lot of great things. The libero is on point with his slides and his "poses", the ace(wing spiker) has the same beautiful form while jumping and the team got some badass serves(both brute force smashes and jump floats). All in all, superb and so glad it introduced me to the sport! :D All that has to happen now is for the Swedish team to get some golds! ;)
The scene where the glass shatters is representing their fears. The spikers were afraid of the blocks shutting them down, but they spike through it and shatter that fear. Finally, able to make it through.
Hinata actually plays the mid-blocker position and acts as a decoy. In his junior high years he was brutally defeated by the setter’s team and now he strives to be a “tiny giant”
Hinata's definitely best known for his reflexes and speed, which make his jumps incredibly hard to predict and his spikes even harder to stop. You can't help wishing even the biggest guys in Haikyuu good luck with stopping him, especially if they also have a problem with experience.
The shadowy moments like the one where the glass is breaking is more like a mental break, normally happens when his team is on the losing side and then they have some sort of revelation that pushes his team forward. Happens usually during their big games against some of the top teams.
The show was written by a ex volleyball player and he learns how to play smarter and even learns how to jump correctly.it uses a lot of really volley ball drills, terms and form
You completely right when you're talking about the center of gravity. In the anime, Hinata is basically just starting to learn about volleyball. Just imagine, he's not using his full potential to reach higher heights. Just means he can go higher
Also, the glass scene is because the previous time they faced each other, the team lost because of the block. But with the new and improved set, it's saying that he's breaking through their past defeat. :)
Hinata’s whole character revolves around his jump height, quick reflexes, and speed. He runs around super fast for a lot of these before jumping, but it isn’t because he’s coming from super far away. He charges at full speed to get to an open area whenever he can and not give the opponent time to react. And Kageyama, Hinata’s setter for all of these, isn’t one of the best setters at all, really. But he’s incredible at sending sets that take less than half a second to fly to Hinata from anywhere on the court and Hinata closes his eyes and hits them immediately. That’s what’s so powerful about those. Later Kageyama also learns how to use spin to stop the ball right where Hinata jumps so Hinata can open his eyes and angle the shot.
The reason he jumps like that is because he is an amateur who loves basketball and just started to play volleyball in high school, he doesn't yet have the control, the skill and the necessary techniques yet. He is incredibly talented and has an insane vertical that's why he was allowed to start. He gradually improves his skills. You can see his jumping improve in later seasons.
Thought I would give a little bit of context as to why Hinata is always running with his center so low. He has crazy good reflexes and speed, and so they use him a a decoy, he's running around the court constantly dragging the blockers with him as they're scared of his quick attacks. He needs to be able to go from one side of the net to the other so that he can also get around the blocks and have a mostly open area of attack.
just so you know, in the anime they say the hinata attack is not the first tempo, but they call 'minus tempo'. where the speaker has jumped even when the ball hasn't landed in the setter's hand

2. The middle number on their scoreboards is the Set they are currently on
3. Most of the spikes you saw were the opponents' first times seeing Hinata spike as this is his 1st year of highschool and he is an unknown in their volleyball community, despite having natural raw talent
Loved your reaction!

"Dragon ball Z- Volleyball edition"
*sNoRt*
bruh me toooo
I feel ya' lmao
The number in yellow(or in the middle) means the number of sets for the match. Usually, volleyball goes to a best of three or best of five sometimes. A volleyball set ends when a team reaches 25 points or under a deuce situation at 24, whoever gets two points first wins. :)
I realized that after lol. Thanks for explaining. You think I would have recognized that as I played volleyball in College 🤦🏻♂️
@@jumpguyty 😂😂
One of the reasons that everyone is shocked is because Hinata has already jumped and is midswing before the ball is even set
"my dude here is a ninja on another level"
*laughs in manga reader*

Me: that makes no sense-
definitely give this show a watch, it has awesome character development and definitely gets you in love with the characters, and matches are always intense and it has great humor too, you definitely see a team start from the bottom and build upwards. 10/10 show
"you can be doing so many other things but you're not" wow I being called out, I could be finishing my essay but I'm not
Lol nice reaction coach!👍🏽 This compilation didn’t have the full approach for some reason, but if you look at clips from season 4 the show is much more focused on hinata’s jump and the mechanics. There’s even a whole chapter dedicated to Hinata improving his block and ‘punching’ the ground.
That center of mass was actually address after.. Shoyo was able to improve his jumps.

12:44 I always love that one sso much
13:17 People also like to say that the "Huh?!" right before that was also very appropriate
14:45 "Bye~" I _need_ your reactions, sir (when/if you have time!!)
oh man on to the next one
Just found your video on my recommended! Haikyuu is honestly such a great show: the creator, Haruichi Furudate, grew up playing volleyball and did great research on the mechanics of volleyball (even studied in the men's national team in Brazil, I believe), there is amazing character development, the comedy is great, and the animations are SICK. I hope you get a chance to watch it (maybe do reaction videos to the series? I'd love to watch!) #Subscribed
When you said “it’s a cartoon I get it” I was like oh no the weebs are gonna attack him
I love watching experts react to anime relating to their profession
Haikyuu: Oikawa's serve there's alot of footwork in his serves it's just amazing to watch
That freak toss-spike combo gain popularity in that anime because it is done in minus tempo. Meaning the spiker will run and jump before the setter toss the ball.
If you want to see someone with a lot of power in the anime, take a look at Ushiwaka/ Wakatoshi Ushijima
P.S He's the guy at 13:10
The match with inarizaki was amazing. There was a lot of cool scenes. The growth in the team from the 1st season to the end of the 4th season (inarizaki match) is crazy!
10:28 predicting the future LMAO
The amount of times you've made my day is unreasonable
I loved when he said "its like dragon ball Z volleyball edition."
And i laughed when he said "161?! Thats too many points!" 😂
Watching a montage of these moments is cool, but without the context of the episode/ match, it loses some of its impact
him: was he in the bathroom
me: wait-! WAIT WAIT WAIT- *laughing* hes always in the bathroom before a match tho
lmao
Omg, the comment on Satori was amazing, I think I'm dead
Hinata has some great jumps!! Oikawa’s jumps serves are my favorite though. You should definitely check out Haikyu!!
The animation of the broken glasses was a memory from the past where they lost on that team basically it is showing that they are breaking or surpassing their past
u forget to zoom out xd
I realize that now! Hopefully you still enjoyed it!
Lmao glad someone noticed it too,
The charm of the show its that it doesn't seem super over dramatized unlike other shows. To the uninitiated on the sport it seems and sounds legit with some obvious dramatization, but nothing super over the top (the sport aspects of course)
I honestly would love to see you react to the show!
you should watch the entire series in full. it perfectly reveals the volleyball itself, the audience explains the techniques, serves and everything else. and also in the series there are many amazing characters, not only Hinata, they are all great.
You finally did it coach! 😂
Dudes just having a good time doing this, making jokes enjoying the show and just vibing out right now
Nothing but respect
Definitely check out more
for sure you have to check this! it's so enjoyable that in some point you get so immersed in the story you'll find yourself screaming at 3:00am every point in the game!
Can't believe what I'm seeing!!
I take it that’s a good thing!?
Thanks for the great reactions to Haikyuu!
pls watch the whole anime on Netflix!!!
If I get some time I'll take a look!!!
The context matters a lot actually, the story is that the setter sets too fast for anyone's good except this kid and the setter actually waits for the kid to jump and then throws the ball into his hands in midair.
It's a set faster than 1st tempo because of this
Watch Oikawa´s Serves
Haikyuu has a lot of symbolism used throughout the show. The glass bit is just an example of that. I highly recommend watching the whole thing!
The fact that he said:" It is a cartoon. I get it." Makes me a little bit mad but allover nice reaction and analyse!
YOU NEED TO WATCH THE WHOLE SHOW, your gonna love it considering its a volleyball anime!! theres so many more teams and characterss, YOU NEED TO WATCH THE WHOLE SHOW!!
Sir, does hinata has 50+ inches vertical jump??? We really wanna know....
At least!!!
no, his vertical is like 45 inches
Hinata has around 45 inches after 3 season and most likely have a around 52 inch vert after timeskip since he jumps a head taller
@@jaden-ling5998 he reachs higher, but he's also taller. His vert is like 50 inches, no much more
@@doni8174though I think its definitely higher since I’m 174cm and my standing reach is 224cm and my friend is 186 and his standing reach is higher than mine by 20cm, Thus when hinata reaches 333 at 164 might have a standing reach of 200-210 depending on arm extension making him at vert of around 48 inches and since after timeskip, he jumps a head higher which can be 20cm+, hence he reaches at least 353cm.
Do serves from Haikyuu
Serves huh...hmmm...
@@jumpguyty Yeah serves would be a good one. This is probably the only compilation that would be hard to analyse for you since Hinata's quick is probably the only that isn't realistic in the anime (although not impossible to do). So any other haikyuu video would be so much easier for you to analyse.
His reaction on 12:45 was also my reaction when Hinata quickly hit that ball straight down and ask myself "WHAT WAS THAT?!" wagaahaahaahha 😂
Plzz Watch all seasons nothing is stupid about Haikyu Or volleyball
I definitely don't think there is anything stupid about Haiykuu and I'm sorry if I gave you that feeling. I'm very excited to do my 3rd reaction this week!
@@jumpguyty 💜💜
"He's got a lot of power" i want to see him watch Oshiwaka
Hinata actually plays the mid-blocker position and acts as a decoy. In his junior high years he was brutally defeated by the setter’s team and now he strives to be a “tiny giant”
Hinata's definitely best known for his reflexes and speed, which make his jumps incredibly hard to predict and his spikes even harder to stop. You can't help wishing even the biggest guys in Haikyuu good luck with stopping him, especially if they also have a problem with experience.
“Was he in the bathroom?” Lol knowing hinata that wouldn’t be surprising
"Dragon ball Z Volleyball edition" That was the best description of Haikyu Ive ever heard
