    I was thinking about skipping the network + and getting the ccna, but I thought to myself that I might as well get it and then try for the ccna then some juniper certifications.

      I think having your network plus is always a good starting point before you jump into any vendor certifications

    enjoy the channel. here is my deal been in telecommunications for over 30 years. Have a old CCNA, studied the new one and a 50% of ccnp, have some linux experience, studying Python now. Next will be Security +.
    Want to work in the blue team. in a SOC I'm 60 now. After Security+ should I start to apply or wait till I have a SOC. also wanted to be an incident responder but not sure I have time, with my age.
    any direction from anyone would be great.

    What jobs would you recommend for someone just starting their career in IT? I want to acquire my A+ and Network + certs before I start applying for jobs. Eventually I want to get my Security cert. but I figured as someone thats new to this field , it would probably be better to start with a entry level job to get some IT experience before I switch into cyber security. What job or jobs would you recommend?

    From Your perspective do you think Microsoft Certifications or CompTIA Pat?
    Bcoz i did 3 certification in Microsoft till now but i never had any CompTIA

      Both certification companies are good. It all depends on what you want to achieve. But I think having those three are definitely a good start.

    It’s it okay to skip network + and go straight for security + 🤔? Since I already have the fundamental of network Security.

    • @InfoSecPat
      @InfoSecPat  8 месяцев назад +4

      I would not skip anything if you have nothing. Just take the 3 of them.

      FWIW from a rando on the Internet, I have the Sec+ and CySA+ and I'm going "backwards" now to Net+. Networking is foundational knowledge for basically any infrastructure or operational IT. You want to make sure that foundation is solid.

    Can you take the Network + if you've never done the A+ ? You think you'd still be able to pass?
    Edit: Ahh kk nvm. You mentioned that you should do A+ First? I just dont see very many higher paying jobs for help desk

    • @areeb2825
      @areeb2825 6 месяцев назад

      You can. But for me personally getting A+ first definitely made studying for Network+ easier because a lot of the material was covered in A+ as well (cabling, port #s, etc etc)
