True. I don't know how old you are. But in the 80's there was a TV show called Star Search. It's known more for the people that lost the show and went on to become stars. While the winners went nowhere. Some of the famous losers on Star Search were comedians Sinbad, Ray Romano. And pop singer Britney Spears

They were selling an extra TV show to the networks and getting additional money from the phone votings. Also it is cheap additional promotion for WWE. If the guys on the show turn out to beThey Miz, Johny Mundo or EC3 - great, they've created a star, if not they can get rid of him easy enough.

I'll always have a soft spot for Maven. Here in Ohio, I had been up for a few days, and was very lethargic, and dehydrated. He noticed how uncomfortable I looked (nearly passing out) and immediately went into his gym bag, and gave me a Gatorade. He sat with me, until I was good to go. I had him sign the bottle, and we briefly stayed in touch, after.

Andy Levine had immense potential. However, it was pretty clear he lacked the confidence and the guile to really hustle behind the scenes. His confidence issues aside I think the "guile" factor is a major factor as to why most don't succeed in the WWE. If you've worked your ass up from smaller promotions and learned the business you are much more prepared. These kids are pretty fresh and bang! Put into the big show. Being a good wrestler simply isn't enough. There are so many angles and players involved in Pro Wrestling and the WWE it's pretty ruthless.

Patrick Clark from the last season is starting to pick up some serious steam as The Velveteen Dream. He always warned Josh that he wouldn't make it without having true passion for the business even if he won Tough Enough. Big Josh is gone. Velveteen Dream, on the other hand, is turning into a license to print money. Dude's really starting to put all the tools together that make a great sports entertainer--Charisma, Size, Athleticism, Storytelling, and Work Ethic.

Only two issues I have there are firstly, if he will be able to properly fit his gimmick into the more family friendly main shows and second, if once on the main roster he can avoid the dreaded touch of death that the main roster has meant for so many promising NXT talents. I have to say he really showed his potential at Takeover recently and I loved the play on the Rick Rude Gimmick with the tights, never mind the fact he and black put on what I felt was easily one of if not the best match of the night. I have to say though I didn't expect Elias to take off the way he did so you never know what might happen.

i prefer the tough enough competition being exposed for the joke that it is. daniel puder and andy leavine were the biggest examples of how stupid the whole thing has been. neither one of them ever had even a single one on one match in the wwe after they won the thing. puder didn't get the million dollars that the contest was supposed to pay him, and andy leavine probably got financially screwed over in that same way since he was also released only a year later as well.
a million dollars over the course of up to four years, yet they could be released after only a year, making them get only a fourth of it, that made the thing dishonest, but i guess all of the contestants knew that before they agreed to be in the contest, but it still made it dishonest. they may as well have made it a million dollar contract over the course of 40 years where they get only $25,000 per year while they were at it since almost no wrestler would never last that long in the wwe, so they'd likely get screwed out of the million in full. hulk hogan debuted in the wwe in november of 1979, so if you count hulk hogan as still being in the wwe even though he's only there once in a while these days, it still hasn't been 40 years yet since it's currently february of 2019. just think, if daniel was 23 when he won the thing, then he would have had to have waited until he would be 63 by the time he'd get that million in full. the wwe may as well have just made it that way while they were at it if the winner wouldn't be automatically guaranteed that million after they would win, despite them how they would go through all the crap that the wwe would throw at them, including having people like big show and kurt angle give them a hard time.
if they would make it a 30 year contract where the winner would only get $33,3333.33 per year, then think of the undertaker. he debuted in the wwe in november of 1990, so he still hasn't been in the wwe for 30 years yet. imagine the undertaker getting only $33,333.33 per year all this time time since 1990. imagine hulk hogan getting only $25,000 per year all this time since 1979. it'd be a joke, and that's exactly what the wwe tough enough contest is.

A success story would include them at least winning a major title like the WWE title or World Heavyweight Championship or Universal title. As far as I know, John Morrison has been the most successful WWE Tough Enough winner that there has ever been, and yet he never won any of those major titles. And yes, I know, I'm only talking about the Tough Enough winners, meaning, that it might not have been in the winner's best interest to have won the thing if them winning it was going to mean that they would achieve less success than someone who they beat in a Tough Enough competition.

@eddie LM it is kinda of how majority half of american voters vote for preisdent or gov or politcans at preisdential level on peronsonilty if they person is likeable from bill clinton barack obama etc personailty test. i vote on voting record what ur going to do for country not personailty. same with wrestlers in wwe or voting for american idol. divasearch was worst thing ever.
