Just a technical note: Daisy chain ports on (most, modern) cabinets ARE wired in parallel. Parallel vs series wiring for speakers has a slight effect on tone, but the biggest issue is that adding cabinets in parallel decreases impedance, while adding cabinets in series increases it. So a solid-state amp where the output wattage varies with impedance will not be able to put out as much signal with a series-wired stack vs a parallel-wired stack.
There is no difference, however, between multi speaker outputs on the amp or single speaker output + daisy chain if in both cases the wiring is parallel.
I've had my t900 for three years, and it's the absolute best bass amp I've ever had the pleasure of owning.
Well done!!
Killer amps! Thank you for watching! T
have you ever owned any others? 🙃
How do you like it vs the TH? Love mine but my buddy owns one with a Schroeder cab (which I own as well) and his sound is incredible.
He lives in the Midwest or I would try it out.
Just wondered your thoughts, thx
Hi Tyler
Can you tell me the thickness of the four rubber feet on the Eich T900 or clearance under the amp ?
I have a new cab coming with a top mounted handle and I need to check if the T900 will clear the handle
Thank you in advance and great review
I turn the gain almost all the way up. When the red light comes on, then I back it off just a bit. This gives me my optimal sound. Most of the time I just leave the EQ flat.
Thanks for the video! Just wondering if you can get the volume low enough for bedroom practice? I have an 800w cab at 8 ohms but would want to use this head for both live and practicing at home. The master control on some amps I’ve had have a high jump in volume from it being set to 0 to turning it up so sound is audible so it can be hard to get a low practice volume. Thanks.
Also would the taste control be set completely to dry for a flat sound or 12 o’clock? Cheers
too me you just sound like a member of architects, but maybe cuz they are Brighton boiiz , a great review and description of the head
Haha! Brighton’s not at all far away from me! Thank you for the support!
Can't find any of these for sale used. It's annoying, but always a good sign that people don't want to let this go.
Have you made the switch to a Class D head? Which amp is your current favourite? T
TJS Bass I am planning on buying the Eich t 1000. Which class D head is your favorite?
Balaguais king the T900 is my favourite. Mostly because of the form factor, and power to weight ratio! I have a suspicion I’d like the Aguilar TH700 but I’m yet to give that a try. TC Electronic Blacksmith I’ve enjoyed too, but its size is unnecessary for what’s inside it, and it has a fairly specific voicing/colouration. The Markbass stuff is distinctly okay in my experience. I’ll use it as backline no problem, but it doesn’t excite me, just does a really solid job. The LMT500 was the Markbass I used.
Eich still wins for me! T
I have a TecAmp Puma 1000 that I love. My understanding is the founder of TecAmp left them and started Eich Amplification. The features on the T-1000 are so incredibly close to my TecAmp, that I wonder, how different are they? I'm actually very happy with the TecAmp, so do I just have GAS? I wonder if there are any differences of considerable note between them...if anyone knows I would love to hear!
I had the Tecamp Bona fide. It stopped working, and dealing with Tecamp was a pain in the ass! Sendt the amp to Germany for repair, and it came back without being picked up by the repair store. Shitty company.
But then I bought the Eich T-1000. Seems like much the same amp. Did sell it and bought a Bergantino. It's really good. But now I'm getting me a T-900 that slips in my gig bag.
@@basstor1 I had exactly the same experience with Tecamp a few years ago. Tomas Eich dealt with it personally at Tecamp (he was still there at the time), and even he couldn't get it working. They paid the shipping costs back. I eventually got it repaired by a tec in NE England (I'm in England), but it has now packed up again so I'm thinking go with a new T900.
Did you ever try the EBS Reidmar? I wonder how the Eich compares to EBS Reidmar head to head.
John Sousa I haven’t tried the Reidmar in recent times. What I remember of it was that it was a very punchy head but with harsher upper mids than the Eich. The Eich is slightly smoother and more natural sounding over the whole range with maybe a slight broad scoop in the mids.
@@TylerSpicer Cool. Any regrets on not going with the 1000? It does have a few more features ie. Compressor, bright and Deep switches I believe.
What would be the reason to get T1000 instead of T900?
Built in compressor and the ability to bi-amp your cabs so one handles just the lows… I think the 900 makes sense for most people and I’d rather have the portability! T
Yeah right!!! 100 gigs in one year. Mettalica doesn’t even play that many shows in under 365 days
Metallica aren’t grinding as session players with bills to pay! Thank you for watching! 🙌🏻 T
Bro, what’s wrong with you!! I play 100 plus in a cover band lol😅😊
@@RobMLyon maybe
@@RobMLyon I guess you’re right. Now that I remember a long long time ago I played about 100 shows in a year in my cover band, so yeah!
Oh look a bass amp that sounds
just like a person talking!
