    Imagine starting a channel, just to keep friends and family informed about what was going on? 😂🤣
    What I’ve been doing with my channel.
    But I don’t have any expectations of ever having 10K subscribers!
    Congratulations Wilma and Greg!
    You both deserve it 👍

      @@buildingthephilippines Like you, Greg, I started this Vlog channel just to keep everyone informed. It’s nothing like my big Y.T. Channel I had for 5 years. It was growing strong. But nobody wants to watch about guns, etc, so I let that channel die when my late wife died. This channel is for fun

    House and property are looking really good. I currently live in DC and have a Filipino girlfriend. We are planning on getting married and then I have about 5 years left before I can retire. At that point the gameplan is to move to the Filipinos and finish out our days. Any recommendations for moving all my belongings there? I would also be interested in knowing more about what vegetables you grew in your garden, what worked and what didn’t. Thanks in advance!

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  8 месяцев назад +2

      You can simply send belongings in balikbayan boxes. We shipped 35 of them. Go to any Filipino store in your area and most have a partnership with a shipping company like LBC or UMAC. If you want to ship large items, need to ship a 20 or 40 foot container. Balikbayan boxes cost around 100 dollars each, container is much more. Garden, hot peppers, scallions, okra, egg plant, lemon grass grew the best in our garden.

    Thanks for the update y'all. Was just curious, how does your front gate operate? Is it a sliding gate, or is it a pivoting gate? Would think its also operated manually. Thanks again and looking forward to the next video....Jim

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Jim, it's a sliding gate with 2 metal wheels that ride on angle iron in the cement. We will have a electric gate opener at some point.

    What’s the name of the solar company? And what was the size of your system

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  8 месяцев назад +2

      New company, Alpha solar. 10, 550 watt panels. 5000 watt inverter and 10.24kva battery. Lp top sun brand, except panels. They are Canadian solar.

  • @heywoodjablomee6551

    I have a solar question. How many shower heaters do you have and how does a 6000W shower heater effect your solar daily usage?

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  7 месяцев назад

      I have a 6000w and 4000w shower heaters. They are hooked to the grid only. Our bill last month was $7 dollars. I believe they would draw too much from the system, so I decided to keep the hooked to the grid. To add another battery to handle the water heaters is $3000 dollars. $7 monthly would take 36 years to break even. Not worth it.
