I remember when I discovered Curve, about '94, '95, it was a total revelation. Intensity and subtlety at the same time, and such a unique sound. Always on my playlist and on my top 5 list of all time favorite bands.
Doppleganger is one of my favourite albums of all time. "Horrorhead", "Lillies Dying", "Fait Accompli"... just fantastic. Toni was amazing and utterly gorgeous.
Two highly influential figures in my teens. Had a crush on Dave back then. Curve was my favorite band around that time, while still being drenched in such different genres of music that all influenced me so deeply. So much amazing music back then. 80s, 90s, beginning to gradually thin out in the 2000s. What epic times for underground and independent music and culture, while simultaneously our culture(s) were illusively being stolen from us with the corporate virus taking over and cheapening/ sterilizing our art through our media outlets. It goes beyond reminiscing, realizing how calculated and sinister it all has been. So much longing to be able to experience those eras once again, as well as something similar, but unique to these times, not so deeply tainted by corporate corruption.
what corporate corruption? sterilizing art how?? what you are saying doesnt make any sense... Artists in the 90s were still complaining about corporations and still making it big. The rock scene died out in the mid 2000s because you tube came along and mtv died, and once people had the power to choose what they wanted to see any time they just end up seeing what they already know and new music became harder to make it big. thats the peoples fauult really, there was nothing planned or calculated by anyone
I mean Gamelan music and Curve don't sound the same. Curve sounded like MBV (think Swallow but with straightforward vocals) and Curve wouldn't be famous if they didn't sound shoegaze.
This takes me back watching 120 minutes on Sunday night.
this was about the time I was loving Curve and crushing on Toni
Now youre an old failed boomer

Good god, toni is a solid 11/10 ❤
Dean’s bass line slides and thuds so well on Coast. Big influence on my playing.
And you are???
Toni ❤🩹💥😍
I never thought Toni was so much fun and laughed a lot, they were always very serious and dark in their clips. Love them
Toni seems very tough like Chrissie Hynde and her lyrics definitely reflect that❤❤
MTV 120 Minutes was actually a good TV platform for the alternative & underground music!
MTV Post Modern, 120 Minutes, Headbangers Ball ... MTV used to actually be good.
Great music,and a brilliant attitude!Ie,up for a laugh.😊😊😊
Toni and Dave: my favorite band of all time.
I met her in Toronto in 93 and she called me a hick.
Easily the coolest heartbreaker of the scene. If only I had a time machine.
Met tonight in a pub very polite
You didnt roape her???
SO BEAUTIFUL A DARK VERSION UK FROM GARBAGE THE LEAD SINGER ❤
Back when MTV was good
