Dimash comes by his charismatic, theatrical persona thanks to his parents. Both are professional singers with his mom being an opera singer. Dimash was raised by his grandparents (Khazak tradition) and his grandmother recognized his budding ability at age five. Dimash’s younger sister also sings but is rather shy and doesn’t like the stage. Dimash loves it and we can tell! He is currently rehearsing for his first concert in China on Dec. 16th. He is in high demand in China having gained 3 million followers almost overnight after his first performance on The Singer.

👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏 You ask whether he has any stage experience. Well according to an interview, when he was two years old, he got a small part in a local play. He was supposed to walk across the stage where another little girl was performing and get off on the other end. Well, as he walked onto the stage, he suddenly realized the audience loved him. So he started making faces, to the audience’s great joy. Encouraged, he kept on trying to be funny and kept getting laughter and applause...! He had to be dragged off so the play could continue! For musicals, there’s a YT clip of Dimash performing as a duet a song from Notre Dame de Paris, Tu Vas Me Detruire.
The complete performer...do try the Notre Dame de Paris duet, it's awesome. Sadly, the original link has been blocked so the only way I can find to see it is via the reaction videos some people got in early. But it is out there for your personal enjoyment. And post-Singer show, he performed (live concert) Memories from Cats - and plenty of fans had their phones going, so I'm sure someone can provide a link to a decent view of the performance. We have lots of treats in store :)

Another great reaction! DImash is still enrolled in University for the Arts in Kazakhstan.. I’m not sure whether due to his performance schedules whether he will complete .. from what I understand he has been on stage since the age 2, so performing on stage is very familiar to him.
I am sure as part of their studies, he would have also learn stagecraft.. but I think he is a natural and has worked very hard to connect with his audience. As for musical theatre.. agree, he would be a perfect Valjean! Although that might not be his direction.. maybe after his fame has died down a little (ala Josh Groban)

He started lessons when he was 3 and has performed a lot especially with his parents. All three are national treasures and he sings to massive crowds.

That is is the wonderful thing about Dimash, he truly loves music and puts every ounce of emotion into his performances. Now, I am not to fond of his next performance but the performance is for showmanship in which he does a great job in that. Looking at your posters, you have to be a sci-fi fan so I think you will enjoy the second part of the ninth episode. I see you are going in order so I will wait patiently, Haha!

World class performance by a world class singer. He's been singing/performing for many years on many dramatic stages with big local stars, opera and pop. He has had a lot of experience in his country but only since SINGER in 2017 has he been exposed to China and other country's. He became a sensation over night! You can see why. I can not wait to see him perform on broadway like you say. He has a style of his own that will become a new world trend. Just give him a chance!
