- Hi guys! Here's my reaction to Dimash singing S.O.S. After watching "Hello" and reading all your comments about him, i really wanted to watch more and I can certainly say i'm glad i did! I'm officially convinced!

Thank you for great reaction. Dimash was first time on stage when he was 2 years old. His parents are both singers and when they would finished the performance Dimash would run to the stage and bows down. He loved the stage and audience from early childhood. He started to go to music school when he was five. What you saw today is his love for music, gift, talent and hard work for almost 20 years. I hope you will react to all his performances from Singer 2017. This was the competition for professional and well know singers in China. He won second place. He said he was the winner anyway as he become famous in China and all over the world over the night.

Dimash has a ridiculously powerful voice... just wait until you get to Daybreak from his Bastau concert! And in every episode of The Singer, he brings something new and surprising. Cato Tønnessen You're very welcome! ^-^ Yes he definitely has many dimensions to his voice! Each episode he tends to highlight a different aspect of it. I'd like to give you a little background on the videos that are coming up! Everyone has been suggesting Opera 2 as the next video because that is actually his second appearance on his 2017 run of The Singer. The Singer is a very popular Chinese TV show where they bring in already established, professional singers to compete. I think that the audience are the ones who determine which singer they liked best during each round (each episode is one round, during which all the contestants perform one song, including Dimash!) If you notice, you have seen them show a back room with people watching Dimash; those are the other contestants! It seems like each season they bring in one "wild card" contestant from another country. Dimash was that contestant for 2017! He is from Kazakhstan, and was completely unknown to the Chinese audience when he debuted on the show with S.O.S. I won't get too much into that because there is a specific commenter who I saw posted a bunch of information about that episode haha. As far as I know, there are 11 episodes of Dimash performing on The Singer (episode 11 is skipped, I'm not entirely sure why, and it jumps from episode 10 to 12). People will most likely suggest the episodes in order, but if you would like a list, or any other information I would be happy to help out! Sorry for the text wall haha. I hope this was helpful!
Cato Tønnessen PS there is another person from the 2018 season of The Singer named Hua Chenyu who is also incredible! I would highly suggest checking his first performance on The Singer (I think it is episode 4 of 2018) if you have time, and/or as a break from or after watching Dimash! He is very versatile and also has many layers and dimensions to his voice.
Episode 11 is skipped, because Dimash did not perform in episode 11 having already qualified for the final.

That's exactly what Dimash is. He's a messenger through his songs and singing. He conveys emotions.....he connects with audiences, not only live audiences but tv audiences too. When he's on stage, he commands attention....he's captivating, mesmerizing. That's Dimash. And his powerful, clear and angelic voice.....just incomparable. Please continue on the Singer 2017 series of Dimash's performances.....It's like opening a pandora box.

This song was perfection. Dimash started training in music as 5 years old. He got used to performing in his home country, Kazakhstan. Later we can go backward and see some of his performances before Singer. Love your reactions. DKIFC/USA

This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode].
This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely.

Hi Cato, Another BRILLIANT reaction from you for Dimash !!! Btw its good to talk .. so don't be apologising OK!!! You are quite right he oozes confidence on stage but in reality being the unknown wildcard and at 22yrs old the youngest contestant ever in Singer competitions he was in fact terrified of this, his first performance, he had been rehearsed away from all his fellow contestants so this was their first time hearing him, hence their reactions also. There is a video on YT showing him and his friend arriving in China for the competition, none of them speaking Chinese and afterwards going back to their hotel with intentions to just go out the day after to shop and sight see. After the reactions Hunan TV received from this appearance they rang him first thing in the morning to tell them not to go out alone, until they sent four security men to accompany them. After his second appearance ( Opera 2 ) he couldn't do anything without having crowds following everywhere and he'd generated 1.6 Billion comments /followers on social media. Not bad for a 22yr old unknown!! I know I've asked you before but please follow his Singer journey, there is lots more like this to astound you. 👍👍😊😊😊

That is absolutely crazy- to have such a huge following at this stage in his career is just mind blowing. It must be such a blessing, but also a lot of pressure that follows as he got so big so early on in the competition. Loved your reaction and commentary. Dimash is full of surprises. He has taken piano and vocal lessons since the age of 5, after his grandmother recognized his singing ability. Both of his parents are singers. I think his mother sings opera. He recently graduated from his music school. He had a chance to sing opera with a well known company, in his country, but he wanted to go in a different direction. He calls his style neoclassical, others refer to it as popera. He said the reason he can sing so high, is because his music teacher made him sing all the female parts when he was younger. He hated it at the time, but now he is grateful for that training. Dimash is my angel of music😊😊..i never followed any singers in my life nor a fan of anybody til he came along. I get bored easily or tired listening to same style of singing but not with Dimash..he always add twist in the same song but different performances so it never gets old..he is full of surprises.😍😍..love ur reactions..and u r so sweet to take time to respond to all comments but the thing is u might run out of time answering each one coz our Di has lots of dears all over the world😀😀😀❤👏👏dear from canada

Excellent reaction my friend.. you just follow the safe path to enjoy this guy. Please be aware he is Pop Singer, he perform some songs not at this level (Screaming.. not the best) . Also if you do some research you will find non edited videos were he sing at very close level to this performances. Salutes!!!

It's nice to see you enjoyed the performance. :) I hope you keep reacting other performances of Dimash, because every performance of him is different. For example, he performed The Diva Dance with 3 different styles, he performed S.O.S differently in other occasions, there are 2 "All by Myself" performances of him with different runs; adds or changes some notes or runs and he makes songs...I can't say "improved" because every performance of him is near perfection...I can say "beautiful and different". I don't wanna give you any other spoilers; I hope you react every performance of him even if it is the same song. BTW welcome to the Dimashland and among dears. :)))

Dimash is really confident on stage (he can, let's say it x)) but he is so humble, full of respect and a hard worker guy out of stage, he's just amazing.
His second performance on "The Singer" is Opera 2. I can't wait to see your reaction on this one (and all the other, too). You still have so much to see about him, for now you see like 10% of what he can do so... x)

That's very true- He seems like a natural performer and look so comfortable on stage, like this is what he was meant to do! I want to recommend to you another amazing singer from The Singer show. He competed year after Dimash. He is Hua Chen Yu, the best Chinese singer last 6 years. Check his songs Nunchucks, Ordinary path and Child. Also I want to recommend child prodigy and Russian national treasure Diana Ankudinova. She was 14 when she sang Derniere danse and 15 when she sang Rechenka (River). Check also Human and Wicked game. For Diana and Dimash fans say they are from planet D. Btw u r cuteness overload.
I am late to the party. I know that this was his first performance on the "singer" in China. The judges and the other contestants were actually scoffing at him and some degree of bias i think because he is not Chinese ...... then he floored them body slamming them with his voice ... what a true unadulterated talent and hard work from Dimash the master of perfection.

OMG I thought you'd never react after the first one. I'm sooooooo glad you decided to do it again. He improved vastly not only on the way he sang this song this year but also his French has improved a bit, too. I'm sure one of the other Dears will be able to point you to to the link. It's amazing how much this young man works at his craft.
He's absolutely amazing, so I just have to keep reacting to him for a little while! The fact that he's so young and has improved already makes me very excited because he's got so many years to progress even further in his career! His discipline and hard work is really admirable! :)
