The others are the contestants. The audiance is the judge. He was the best and you have to know that for sure because I'm sure you haven't heard or recognize anyone from the video. He didn't win because he was an outsider. But he did win us from around the world. He will be a big star soon enough. I'm sure of that because you can't pass by him and can't acknowledge his talent. The people in the back are the other contestants still in the running. The audience fills out their singer votes at the end of the show, and then all the ballots are counted for that show's rankings. The top winner of the episode often gets some input into the order of performances for the next episode.

very sad song based on true events. Dimash nailed it and was his fist time to sing in Chinese...this song led him to win an award in Hong Kong for best international singer!!!!! The audience of 500, votes weekly for their 3 favorite songs. Every 2 weeks votes are tallied and person with lowest points leaves, but 2 more come in. Not like usual competitions where it eliminates down to final 2.

Hair guy is the guitar player in a group called Lion Band. They are contestants in the show as well and are really good. The reason you see different faces back stage is because of the way they eliminate contestants and bring on others to compete as well. So some leave and then new ones come on giving the audience control of who stays and goes. I watched all the shows and there were a lot of great singers competing. Luckily, when I watched the shows, there were subtitles and you could see what the others were saying.

Its a competition for professional artists, who are here backstage, often with their own coach or contestants from former shows who are invited to either be there, or enter in the competition at some specific point. If you watch the original/complete videos of the show, you will be able to read translation of the backstage dialogues. It is filmed as in reality show format, and cameras follow the artists. It's very entertaining to discover their world, from their point of view, listen to their reaction after their performance, etc.
Maybe I got this wrong, but this is what I understood from listening to a pre-performance introduction to Dimash: ranking depends much on how the crowd reacts: the thumbs ups and the standing ovations. It's much more complicated than on the voice where the coaches decide. Here, it has a lot to do with the audience who is there almost as the jury, and this is why you see the same faces during the different episodes of the show.

Yes the backstage are fellow competitors! This show is a bit different in that all the contestants had successful music careers with large followings prior to the show. Dimash was a total wild card. The only one not from China, didn’t speak the language, and who was unknown! That’s actually why he opened the first episode they saved the performers they thought the audience wanted to see most last. But needless to say it didn’t take him long to completely win everyone over! This song he actually learned in a week, he couldn’t speak any Chinese prior!

I'm loving the way you enjoy Dimash as much as we do. The quartet was the Lion Band. The competition started off with a core set of competitors. New competitors enter the show, giving them the chance to progress further if they land in the top 4 on the night of their performance. If their ranking is lower than 4th, they are eliminated. At the end of two episodes, the cumulative percentages are tallied and the competitor/s with the lowest percentage leaves the show. It's a great entertainment show. Dimash has enter the final n it will be this year 2018.
