It sounds like the Buell Blast I used to have. That’s what stands out for me which is why everyone is looking for aftermarket exhaust options. The sound was for me a safety feature if I heard it I looked for it, and got out of the way. I like it and I’d like to test ride one.
I had my Tri-Glide in for some warranty work when I spotted my first 975 Nightster. What a good looker. I like just about everything about it and I'd love to own one. But I have to ride a trike because my wife, who always rides with me, has battled cancer eight times and now walks with a walker. I have to help her on the passenger seat but at least we're still riding. My only concern with the new Nightster would be if I scraped bottom somewhere, like over a curb or on a rough road. I know it would add more weight, but I would feel better if it had a skid plate under the fuel tank. I once owned a Suzuki Intruder 1500 that had the fuel tank under the seat and the "fake" fuel tank housed the air cleaner box. It made that bike feel much lighter than it was. I think the Nightster is a perfect replacement for the Sportster and I think within the next few years we're going to see the 1250cc find it's way to the softail family. HD might increase the displacement to 1350cc or 1450cc but it will replace the M8 engine on the Softail family. I think it would be neat to have that same engine on a Freewheeler. I also think HD will hang on to the M8 on the touring models and the other trikes just as long as they can. These new liquid cooled powerplants from HD will keep HD alive for years to come. They had to step into the 21st centiry to stay afloat. The Pan Amercia seems to be selling because I see them on the road these days and I think the Nightster will be a big seller. If my wife could climb on one without kncoking it over, I'll own one. I would go with the plain NIghtster and then add the Long Haul package. I will also buy a luggage rack and a round leather top bag for the luggage rack. I need to find passenger floorboards to make it easeir for my wife to climb aboard. And I will have to have more foam added to the passenger seat so her legs will be more comfortable. When you watch the HD video with a lady on back her legs are going up hill. If I have to rise the height of the passenger seat to make my wife's thighs level making it much more comfortable for her. I thank you for this video, I've watched probably close to 20 videos on the Nightster and yours is one of the best.
Congratulations on your Nightster, I got mine last Memorial Day. Make sure you keep the battery plugged into a tender, learn how to read and clear all the check engine light codes ( most are meaningless, like the one that I got at high altitude ) and I had to add octane booster (the ethanol free 93 octane gas from my local gas station is not true 93 octane). For performance riding, I am adding the screaming Eagle air filter and plugs. The mode button will show tach readings on your display module.
Just caught this, thanks. I am looking at an ex demo Nightster shortly. It would potentially replace the Super Meteor. Comparison may be a bit unfair though.
I just got a Nightster Special as my first bike. Loving it so far as it is a very approachable bike with no bad behaviors- it shifts, stops, turns and accelerates very predictably, it also fits my 6'2 frame comfortably. No, it doesn't sound air cooled, but in person it sounds like a muscle car when you open it up, you won't mistake it for a scooter, thats for sure. IMHO, they are overpriced, but with it's only competition (mid-control sporty cruiser)is the ugly, cramped Rebel 1100 or the smaller, weaker Eliminator, it was an easy pick for me.
Honestly feel that the Nightster may be the funnest of all the current HD's to ride for sport. Very good handling and power too. Also, I love that new engine. Wahoo!
The bikes have similar styling and are sporty compared to the larger HD's. The Nightster has it's own sounds and a very good, though revvy, engine. I liked it a lot. Love the old Iron heads, the Evo's, and now, the new liquid cooled Nightster too. Wahoo!
Unfortunately the only real downside of the Revolution Max - it sounds like shit, even with new pipes. Nothing can be done to fix it, it's the offset crank and firing order.
I just learned of these, and saw one on the road in Grants Pass OR. I think it is going be the one I bring home.
I test drove this one yesterday. It was all I could do to keep from buying it. Absolutely amazing motorcycle!

Possibly the funnest new HD to ride. Wahoo!
This bike looks better to me than the Sportster S.
I'm very impressed with how this bike looks and performs. I really think this is a new beginning for the Sportster with Harley.

Unfortunately this was just a test ride for me. I really liked this motorcycle and wish I had one. Congratulations on yours :-)

You know, I've rode both these bikes. Buy the Nightster, for sure but keep the Super Meteor too. Both are great in different ways. Wahoo!

It's one of the funnest Harleys I've rode ( they're all fun) and would love to see it in a nice blue. Wahoo!
Just got my 2024 Today!
This is a fabulous motorcycle. Possibly one of the funnest HD's to ride. Congratulations and Wahoo!

Time for you to put a 2016 Road King in your garage. That’s the last year of their twin cam.
Love that twin cam.
@@forgottenmotorcycles Get a 2016 and keep it. It’ll be a collectors item
I’m waiting for a Vance and Hines 2into1 competition model
It needs a good pipe. Great motorcycle. Wahoo!
Love my 2022 Nightster
Beautiful & fun motorcycle. Wahoo!
How are the dash lights on the speedometer at night?
Good question, didn't get to ride it at night. Wahoo!
I'm guessing you liked it? :) I have a 1999 1200 Sportster and being that you have some too, how would you compare them to the Nightster?

PS I would like to own one of these.
I have a1200…sorry just can’t do it!!!
Would love to take the 1200 for a spin :-)
“ a real customized Harley Davidson.” 😂 What is the company gonna offer to make that thing stop sounding so lame?
I'm hoping that the aftermarket helps it out.

@@stevem4783 the sound is definitely a problem
