Little tip for the final item-retention-in-the-event-of-Thorns-death idea: Put the Chest one more level down and a Hopper on top of it leading to it, so that you're standing on the Hopper, then enclose yourself in blocks. If you die your entire inventory will get pulled into the Chest.
Thank you for showing the item storage first. It's almost always an afterthought on a lot of other tutorials, and when you're building in survival, building down below something you've already build is usually not a great time. Building it first is definitely the way to go.
Yeah but he also should've built up from the Trident killer creating the tube before the spider killer. He could've still done this in creative but it would've been easier to digest and understand from a survival standpoint.
@@Prowl8413that is something you dont see much i am exited to make the farm bc it is rlly ez tbh to get everything except if you get the idea to get mud bricks as building blocks (definitely not me)
I build bases in the sky so for me it was easier. I always build 115 blocks above a decent village. Ive used this farm on 3 different worlds so useful. I recommend iron farm first if you can
I really like how you started from the bottom up with the storage system. Often people will add that to the end of the video and it's way harder to build when it's the afterthought. Nice video. I remember building one of your mob farms in like 1.12 or 1.13 (ages ago) and it was awesome. Thanks heaps.
Yeah, I wanted to do it the way that most people would do it in survival... if you don't have the storage, you end up with an overflow of mobs and nowhere for the drops to go.
I JUST finished doing this mob farm based on your older video, still glad for this update and thank you for showing the storage! I still haven't added in an item sorter so I still got a lot of value out of this one.
Mobs with thorns armor will spawn only on hard difficulty, if you are on normal diff, they will never spawn with thorns armor. Like that u can use this farm without beacons
And to expand on that, anyone unfamiliar with spawning mechanics, the same number of mobs spawn on all difficulties except peaceful, so if you are on easy or normal, you don't need to worry about the farm slowing down.
Man I am in awe at your builds and stuff. Always great to watch your tutorials and ideas, Prowl. I love your style of explaining and how easy it is to understand.
for the roof, I think instead of use tinted glass you can use solid blocks and then add 1 more layer of leaves. That will safe you hours of waiting for the amethyst
you unfortunately can't use solid blocks here because sole purpose of top layer is to capitalize on surface mob spawn cap you can however use signs and water as water reduces light level
I just finished building this using basalt from Prowls basalt generator tutorial. This farm goes hard. Gets more gunpowder than most dedicated creeper farms with the added benefit of all the other drops!
Could you do a tutorial for a mob sorting system instead of a trident killer under a mob farm like this? I specifically want to sort out creepers to get music discs and mob heads.
Only mob farm we ever build! But keep in mind on Bedrock not to build over a river biome you will have no to very little drops we found that out on our second build of this
Works great. Two things I'd like to understand. One, should torches be placed on the tinted glass. Mobs seem to spawn on top. Second, I believe spider eyes only drop when a player kills a spider. If so, you may want to sort on a different item as very few spiders die in the trident killer.
The spider filter is a much needed addition that I don't understand how it's overlooked in most tutorials. Spiders always always ALWAYS clog up the drop shaft with webs relatively quickly and just ruin everything.
I just built this in survival and it works very well! I was on a budget in terms of materials, so I only built three layers without a tinted glass roof, but it still works better than any other mob farm I have built. Thanks a bunch!
This farm is TOO efficient 😂. My junk chests fill up pretty quickly! After a bit of experimenting, I discovered that you can replace the bottom 4 blocks of the killing chamber with glass panes. The tridents and mobs don’t fall through, but items and xp do. This allows for the sorting system to be water stream based. Quicker, and bulk incineration. No disrespect Prowl, just my take haha
I just finished building your zombie/iron/trading hall farm. Absolutely love it! This is my next item to tackle. I love making a build out of farms. Any suggestions so it doesn't look like a floating box?
I learned from java players to use a hopper below you going into a chest so when you pop in the confined room, the hopper collects it all and you don't lose anything from being unalived for too long. Also, set the door in a way that when you interact with it, it's closer to the player and registers as open so zombies don't break in. Making the afk platform much smaller (just enough to cover the trident slayer and player afk spot) also helps reduce risk of mobs spawning. There really is no need to have a huge platform for such a small use area. That's basically what I would cut out and keep the rest.
Built this yesterday (11/5/23) and went afk for 3 hours and came back to a shulker box worth of gunpowder stacks and 74 levels🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I only built 5 levels because I was falling asleep towards the end but it works amazingly!!!!! (Xbox Series S)
Is there anything you did specifically besides following the tutorial like lighting up caves or decreasing simulation distance? I've left it for a little under an hour and I've only gotten maybe 20 or so of each item except spider eyes and string which I've barely gotten any. And I've only increased from level 27 to 34. I don't really know much about mob spawning or how efficient these farms are supposed to be
Is it the repeator that allows it to be item sorted with 1 item in each hopper slot instead of 1 in 4 and 41 in the first? Just curious. Haven't seen an item sorter that could be sorted with just 1 item of your choosing and 1 filler in each other 4 slots.
@@RedDragon91The filters will pick up 40 more items after the farm starts working. This is a standard 41/1/1/1/1 filter. 41 is necessary for overflow protection.

It's a fair bit of time to build, a lot of string/blocks, but once you do (even without the sorting machine) it's infinite exp and items, so it's well worth it. Just don't build it over a river thinking the wide river that goes around a small chunk of "island" is an ocean, like I did my first time. Whoops. I highly recommend using a cauldron with lava in it instead of just a lava source. This prevents any mistakes, accidental spills or unexpected burning. Many more experienced players won't have issues, but they also probably don't need this tutorial as they have the concept memorized.
Is there any way that the tinted glass can be replaced by another block of some sort? It’s very expensive and I can’t seem to find and amethyst anywhere
Hi, you can use leaves. They reduce light by 1 per each block below them while still allowing surface mob spawn. Test in creative world how much above the slabs you need ti place it to have light 0 at the bottom
Amazing video I will definitely be making this in the server I play in. Just wondering about the looting. Does the person who threw the trident have to be the one holding the looting sword or can anyone show up with a looting sword and have the looting applied. I am assuming it’s only for the person who threw the tridents.
10:07 tip did you know after turning on trident killer of you flip the lever really fast off and back on you can spped up the pistons Only works 1 or mabey twice after initially turning it on
Built this in a realm shared by friends on Bedrock; the only issue seems to be that no xp drops when I am not online for friends. Is this because I am the one who threw the trident? I noticed I am the only one that incurs bad omen affect, so I believe I may be correct. Would a possible fix be to have my friends throw their own trident into the machine as well; in order to fix the xp problem we are having??
Question does the slab not count a block and prevent surface spawns or is it considered transparent would love to understand how the spawn rule works the glass with slabs under seem like it would make it cave not surface the Minecraft logic is confusing

I built this and it works great, I'm very pleased. Could you make a version that autocrafts the bone to bonemeal, to sugar, to paper and combines with gunpowder to auto make rockets? Essentially making it into a rocket and xp farm as well as all the rest. I fell like every step should work, but can it all be put together?
Hi , for the roof top can i use a regular glass (short on tinted glass) or leaf block and block all the sun light by building a roof using solid block?
The items stay in the hopper up to a stack of 41 and then proceed to go down into the chests. I'm not sure on the specific details of it, but that's how the sorter works.
yo so when I put my items to sort it immediately drop them including the named items. anyone know whats wrong. literally set up the same way he does it in the video
Many times the atrain drips through the floor and the hopper minecart disappears,And hopper minecart has been found in the chest. So probably it's gone through the hopper. Do others have the same problem
The build is really good, the mob farm is working, trident killer is working, but not the item sorter, the items that the mobs drop just stays inside the hopper, is there any way to fix this issue? Edit: i fixed the issue, i just replaced the(lets say rotten flesh) rotten flesh with 64 instead of 14, and it actually worked, stopped at 41, so, problem solved.
@@Prowl8413This looks like an awesome farm! But I have 3 questions. 1. How does tinted glass increase mob spawning? 2. Can't I just place solid blocks like cobblestone to cover the roof and place slabs on top of the solid blocks? 3. Can I also light up the area where I stand next to the trident killer?
Is this still working? I saw xisumas farm on hermitcraft broke bc they changed it so mind can't spawn on scaffolding did it change in bedrock too? If so can you do an updated video with a new method?
@prowl8413 thanks for this video i just builded it and it works perfect, the only thing that doesnt wanna work is the storting system even tho i followed it step by step but it keeps collecting inside the hoppers instead of in the chest, do you know how i can fix that??
I have spent several days building this, and not one mob has spawned. After several hours of running in hard mode, no mobs. The Trident killer running the collection system appears to be working as all of the stuff I had to knock out during construction is in the first junk chest. Is it block-sensitive, villagers? Are the beacons necessary? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Playing on Windows 10 bedrock addition.
I built one as well over land and just couldn't get it to work but when I copied the build I made in creative mode using a structure block and moved it over an ocean it worked perfectly
The 6 glass blocks you add to the sorting system at 06:33 - is that in addition to the 4 glass mentioned in the materials list, or is it part of the 361 tinted glass count? I have all my resources ready but just noticed this bit & not sure now whether I will need more :)
Great video. Will this build work on Java Edition of Minecraft? Since that is the version I have. Thank you for reading this, n replying a comment. :) :)
Just curious if you want to make this as an semi early game farm without observers pistons item sorting ect could you just make the drop chute to a 30 block drop so mobs just fall to their deaths instead? Also i would like to thank you for the spider extraction contraption you’ve showed now i can finally go back to a 2x2 chute lol
You won't get experience if you let them fall to their death. Item sorting isn't necessary. Observers are relatively cheap once you've gone into the nether once
Id like to point out almost anywhere means not over a river. Hostile mobs do not spawn in river biomes. Prowl if you make a new mob farm PLEASE say this cuz after building one over a river cuz she thought it looked good there my wife was really confused on why it wasnt working and we had to dig into spawning restriction rules to find out. I havent heard a youtuber call this out.
If i wanted to build like a base up to it would this mess up the spawner. Like i want to turn it into a tower or something to make it look more pleasing to the eye lol but i didnt know if like enclosing it in a huge tower would mess it up
So I just built this farm and I have a question. In the time I afk I had 8 pillager captions die in this farm. Is there a way to also do a raid farm ties into it???
1500 gunpowder an hour is basically impossible with bedrock spawning mechanics. Those are java level numbers and we simply don't have any way to match them currently. I'm sure the gunpowder rates are fine for this farm but there's no sense in stating rates that aren't accurate. 10 stacks of gunpowder an hour is what most good creeper farms produce for bedrock. I would be surprised if a mob farm could match those rates since there's other mobs also spawning with the creepers. Unless mojang changes the amount of mobs that can spawn at any given time then the bedrock farms will always be stuck at the awful rates we currently have to live with.
Hello, would this farm still function if I were to build say 80 blocks above the surface rather than the amount you did? And thank you for this video it's nice to see someone who explains every part of the farm piece by piece.
I'm really struggling with the water flow , can't get rid of these dead spots, any tip but skip 2 on each side... does the orientation of the corner water source matters?
I had an issue with my water too with the first layer not sure if it's the same or not but I had built mine 1 block wider on each side oops almost worked lol check that maybe
My Minecard won’t suck the items through the stone. Any idea why that is? The items will be left in the killing chamber. How could I fix it? If I put down a hopper instead of the middle stone und the minecard, will the trident killing chamber still work?
grea video, awesome build. works great excep for the fact that pillagers spawn in it and my village is constantly under attack. i hate to tear it down because it took me an entire day to build, but i don't know what to do. can i stop them from spawning or do i just have to build it in another location away from my village? anyone know what i should do, anything would help
Raids are triggered when you enter a village while carrying the bad omen effect, which you get from killing the banner pillager. You can get rid of bad omen at anytime by drinking a milk bucket, which you get by clicking on a cow with an empty bucket.
On the layers with scaffolding, if you go to the corner and let yourself drift with the water current, you will find a deadzone on the 3rd diagonal block where you don't move anymore. 100% triple checked on water placement, does this affect the farm at all? Or will the mobs eventually move a little and get out of the deadzone?
Is there any way to fix the items going into the extra chests. I noticed that occasionally some of the items I want sorted don't go into the right chest.
I mentioned this in another comment but water stream sorting seemed to work for me. I just replaced the bottom 4 blocks of the killing chamber with glass panes, to allow items and XP to drop through, while keeping the mobs and trident inside
Me: wants to make mob farm to get string so I can make scaffolding

For the part where u made a bunch of hoppers to get to the storage, can I use a minecart hopper to save resources?
Yea but it takes way longer
I built this and it works great, I'm very pleased. Could you make a version that autocrafts the bone to bonemeal, to sugar, to paper and combines with gunpowder to auto make rockets? Essentially making it into a rocket and xp farm as well as all the rest. I fell like every step should work, but can it all be put together?
Hi , for the roof top can i use a regular glass (short on tinted glass) or leaf block and block all the sun light by building a roof using solid block?
You could always come back and redo the roof when you got more amethyst.
Bedrock slabs allow light through. The whole purpose of tinted glass/ leaves was to make it surface spawn instead of "cave"
What do I do if the item sorter doesn’t rlly work and the items stay in the hoppers ?
The items stay in the hopper up to a stack of 41 and then proceed to go down into the chests. I'm not sure on the specific details of it, but that's how the sorter works.
yo so when I put my items to sort it immediately drop them including the named items. anyone know whats wrong. literally set up the same way he does it in the video
I built this early game and it took forever but works very well
Update: left it on overnight and got almost 200 levels and a full storage system.
Many times the atrain drips through the floor and the hopper minecart disappears,And hopper minecart has been found in the chest. So probably it's gone through the hopper. Do others have the same problem
I just started having the same issue. Have you found any way to fix it?
@@thebignasty143 I'm not
Could you list the addon (or addons) you use for redstone on your site or add it to your description ?
rotton flesh is good for trading with clerics at least
You can breed dogs with it too!
What are you talking about how you fixed it it doesn’t make sense to me and i would like help sorry
Nice one thanks Prowl
No problem 👍
@@Prowl8413This looks like an awesome farm! But I have 3 questions.
1. How does tinted glass increase mob spawning?
2. Can't I just place solid blocks like cobblestone to cover the roof and place slabs on top of the solid blocks?
3. Can I also light up the area where I stand next to the trident killer?
Tip for everyone
Remove the scaffolding and place 2 blocks on all 4 corners and fill up every block.
Cold biome change the drops? Cherry tree biome?
Wasn't it so, that an axolotl in your vicinity will cast regen on you?
Is this still working? I saw xisumas farm on hermitcraft broke bc they changed it so mind can't spawn on scaffolding did it change in bedrock too? If so can you do an updated video with a new method?
I second this question. I would also like know. If anyone has built it and it's still working let us know haha
Is this a 4 simulation world?
Want to build it too. But had the same problem with another mob farm on a different world
I built one as well over land and just couldn't get it to work but when I copied the build I made in creative mode using a structure block and moved it over an ocean it worked perfectly
What is your sim distance?
@@BlckMoonstone_ I don't know if this is the info you want but the FOV is set at 60, render is set at 32.
@@emperior5416 mine is over land but near other facilities but it sounds like this makes no difference.
Now i really feel like o need to make that bamboo farm ive been holding off for too long. 😂
Nice thing is, Bamboo grows so fast, just start planting what you have, you'll probably have all you'll need after an hour or so
The 6 glass blocks you add to the sorting system at 06:33 - is that in addition to the 4 glass mentioned in the materials list, or is it part of the 361 tinted glass count? I have all my resources ready but just noticed this bit & not sure now whether I will need more :)
my junk chests fill up the first row but get stuck up and dont fill up the rest what do i do
Will i get tridents from this or should i build drowned farm separately?
Great video. Will this build work on Java Edition of Minecraft? Since that is the version I have. Thank you for reading this, n replying a comment. :) :)
on java, make an enderman farm, its much more efficient and easier to make. gives you a lot more exp too
Just curious if you want to make this as an semi early game farm without observers pistons item sorting ect could you just make the drop chute to a 30 block drop so mobs just fall to their deaths instead?
Like i want to turn it into a tower or something to make it look more pleasing to the eye lol but i didnt know if like enclosing it in a huge tower would mess it up
will the trident break like normal by loosing durability?
Tridents do not lose durability in a trident killer :p
@@Prowl8413 Ok thanks for the help.
Awesome tutorial, Prowl keep the great content coming!!!
Will do!
the storege doesn't work
So I just built this farm and I have a question. In the time I afk I had 8 pillager captions die in this farm. Is there a way to also do a raid farm ties into it???
So do you need to replace the tridents overtime?
No you don‘t have to
Any rates on this roughly? I have never seen the scaffolding used before
I think total items is around 10k/hour maybe? I want to say gunpowder is about 1500/hour.
These are so nice to have. And you make it so easy to follow.
Hello, would this farm still function if I were to build say 80 blocks above the surface rather than the amount you did? And thank you for this video it's nice to see someone who explains every part of the farm piece by piece.
it does
Can I build this next to an iron farm + trading hall? So that I can make them both activate at the same time?
just asking - what's the height coords for this build?
what texture pact allows you to see the direction of the hopers?
Bedrock tweaks
I'm kinda new to Minecraft, how do you make the other layers on top?
I accidentally made it into 7 layers will the 7th layer still work?
May you share with me your texture pack, that has indicator on a hopper
you can get it from the bedrocktweaks website
@@Prowl8413 ohh thank you sir😊

Can I use any tinted glass or only black tinted?
bro tinted glass is a different type :-:
Do u need to cover it up with glass or can I use normal blocks
mobs will spawn on normal blocks
Mal blocks with slaps on it?
Is there any way we can get an update for ur skeleton farm if it changed
@probablyaparent I understand that, my spawner is in my village, or above. Friend Was afk and the pillagers just kept spawning.
@@thomasmurphy3699 ah - probably easier to move the villagers than the farm.

Will the trident de spawn?
On the layers with scaffolding, if you go to the corner and let yourself drift with the water current, you will find a deadzone on the 3rd diagonal block where you don't move anymore. 100% triple checked on water placement, does this affect the farm at all? Or will the mobs eventually move a little and get out of the deadzone?
no this will not effect the farm.
If a mob gets stuck in that spot they will eventually move and get pulled out.
Loved this video keep up the good work
P.s would love to have you on are realm to play some time 😊
Can you build it above water
Yes, but if you are in a cold biome you need solid blocks above the water on the top layer
Prowls spider solution is genious! This mob farm is a beast, highly recommend.
