I own Rolex and Omega but my kids bought me one of these today (the moon one) for Father's day. I love it, and it'll be in my rotation. Real watch collectors ought to own Seiko, G-Shock and an F91W, so why not entertain one of these? It's all good. Folks need to get over their snobbery.

Good on you. That’s why I said, as long as you’re going to review, I’d like to hear your thoughts. Again, there are about 20 watches I’d buy before this one for the money, but buy what you want and enjoy it is what I always say. And thanks for sharing the personal examples.
I love these watches. I bought a super blue moon, bought my brother a black snoopy, and my dad a mission to mercury. Everyone loves them! I'm going to get a used omega speedmaster next. They're just a fun watch to buy...not a luxury product more of a hype product and celebration of branding.
The obsession with brand is part of collecting so I have no problem with MoonSwatch. But in this case you can get a full set of Pagani Design Moonswatch homages for the price of one original and they're fantastic , maybe the best quartz watches you can buy for the money.
I would wear the cheapest Swatch every single day over a Pagani Design. And if you don't understand that then you don't understand watches and watchmaking.
@@e28forever30 Let's say it this way: I would drive every single day the Golf 2 instead of a chinese copy of a Mercedes. Just principles dude, if you know what principles are.
"you only have to change the battery" Uhhh... No. Quartz movements are not eternal. In a normal watch you can at least replace them. Infact ETA sells the G10.212 movement as a replacement part, but not for Swatches. Objectively the watch is a standard Swatch Chrono with a fancy case that had already demonstrated to be quite flimsy (there is a reason we use plastic and not 1/3 plastic 2/3 inert powder), and it's overpriced like a standard Swatch Chrono (or more, since the pushers of a standard Swatch Chrono are at least made to not break that easily). Did they sold a lot of them? Yeah. They sell a lot of overpriced stuff.
Never "watched" a "watch" video of yours before... It brought a smile to my face. (Subscribed after one viewing, BTW) My most memorable car was a rusty old Vauxhall Cavalier, which I blew up on the M4... I had 3 passengers in it at the time (and) I had to drive it to the next exit, sounding like a jackhammer, where I abandoned it for 3 weeks (in a residential street), about a mile from the motorway, while I went on a sales trip to the USA. On my return, I drove it to the nearest scrapper! It wasn't my all time favourite, but it certainly was the one that sticks in my mind more than any other. I wouldn't personally buy the MoonSwatch, (it does zero for me and seems very expensive for a plastic quartz watch, IMHO) but I respect why you love it! Like you say, it's the emotions that connect you to your watch that are more important than the specs.
Great review. We know what's a Swatch, it's obviously not top quality, it's a plastic watch. But you have the design of the Speedmaster in many different colors and planets for an affordable price. People who don't like the MoonSwatch, don't buy it, it's more interesting than angry criticism. As you say in the video, if you are happy with the MoonSwatch, it's great.

I have one. I wore it once and if I ever get around to remembering to do so I'll sell it. It's not bad looking. It's comfortable because it weighs nothing. The strap looks nice, but is awful. But the very worst thing about it is the noise from the very cheap movement. I have a Timex expedition that costs nothing from when I started collecting. I no longer wear it but as its famed for being loud (something I found enduring at the time), I compared it to the Moonswatch. The Moonswatch is so much louder. My friend has a fake Mission to the Moon which is ironically silent, and keeps the same time. This is a £240 watch losing against a £20 replica. A £20 watch can be fun. Well done review. I waited on line in Times Square NYC store for countless hours beginning in the morning wee hours for the watch you reviewed. Cliques were forming all over and watch geeks of all kinds and from all countries were mingling and talking watches. Most of us wore some kind of favorite watch as Im sure many us anticipated the obvious question " whats on your wrist" ? Lol I made some good friends that day and a few I still have contact with. There was a very unique camaraderie among my group and we all shared which watch we wanted and made pacts in case of a trade. Everyone kept their word. Some guys traded for the colors and I left that day with a super fun, cheaply made , overpriced watch. Years later my thoughts , "I would still do it all over again".

I hate the watch. Watches should be either tough and utilitarian or things of beauty. This is neither. It is cheap and poorly built. What it does show is that people are stoopid.
It's a 20 dollar watch being sold for 200 dollars. In fact the Ali Express fake 20 dollar Swatch is better than the real 200 dollar Swatch, and just as much fun, for 180 dollars less. I guess it proves that there are more than a million people who are dumb enough to buy one.
From the beginning of the brand Swatch (second watch) was supposed to be fun. A fun watch you can wear whenever you want, not to show off but to show something different, colourful, cool. So even collectors with Pateks and Rolexes got one. That's the Hayek spirit and I'm shure late Nicolas G. Hayek would be proud of the MoonSwatches success. He always said Swatch and Omega were his favorite brands, he shurely would've enjoyed to collab. Thanks for this video.
I got one of each of the original collection. Im not gonna wear them, though. I'm planning on making a wall display that mimics the display box, and I'll display that in my office.

Came to see what you had on your mind and then bonus learnt about Jupiter. I call that a win ☺️ (100% genuine). Haha, I bet when you first saw that car you were like, "Yes! It's a convertible!" Cut to sitting in a traffic jam in the p1ssing rain with a wet head! ps The watch is still garbage though 😁
I like you car and your watch!
@@79Hokie thanks!
Price kills silly.
Lucky I wasn't buying 😉
I think 90% of the sales are by ppl who follow trends/flippers and fashionistas. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.I just think it’s way overpriced and poorly made.Ill stick with my 5610.
I’ve also lost interest in watches, loved them since I was a kid,now I’m selling them all off.I don’t know why I’ve lost interest, but I just don’t care about them anymore.
Lol
I made some good friends that day and a few I still have contact with.
Sorry, I still don't want one. Good video though 😁👍
Thanks mate!
Wouldnt buy the Uranus one .
Imagine some one asking whats on you wrist down the pub , its Uranus !
🤣
Too many jokes, but at least people know a bit about a planet!
Sorry Dan😬 it's awful 😢
Yourll laugh at this, amazing how things bring back memories, I’m now 60 , when I saw your watch review ,,, very good it is and a different angle and light , on otherwise a lot of negative reviews , nr the end showing your old mg ,, took me to memory lane,, when I was 15 , I used to walk 3 miles on a Tuesday evening, I was quite advanced body wise for a male 15 yr old , I had muscles , and a good tan , etc One of the 2 girls who ran it , I think had the hots for me ,, and no matter how I tried to refuse a lift home she always insisted , her name was Jenny ,, I was shy of the opposite sex at the time , she was very pretty and tall ,,, if you put my old wise mind into that body of a youth all them yrs ago , the suspension would have been broken or at least worn , l o l ,, any how take care buddy , put a grin on my face 😅 shane uk 🇬🇧
Thinking about it , probably would have slipped a disc , very small in the cabin , me pocket watch would have got dented 😮l o l
@@shaneweightman what a lovely story. Thanks for sharing!
The only gripe with this watch is the price. 400+ euros for a plastic watch - you're being ripped off.
Are they 400 euros?! That is too much for sure
@@watchmewithwatches Price depends on the part of the world you're in. Different prices for USA/EU/Asia. But it's not peanuts anyway you look at it.
wrong talking about somewhere wife bad comment.about the watch sorry i agree whit others a bad investment great for just have it that all.greets from the netherlands
My wife likes the watch! Lol
@@watchmewithwatches ofcoulse she love it she is your wife she love everything you do eve if is not her thing is mean she is the best
I hate the watch. Watches should be either tough and utilitarian or things of beauty. This is neither. It is cheap and poorly built. What it does show is that people are stoopid.
It looks very toy like the kind of watch you probably find in the toy department of Walmart
Nice toys kids get now days!
Sentimentality aside, this watch is way overpriced, and the ridiculous amount of sales, sets a dangerous presidence for watch pricing.
I like how you look at the bright side of the moon swatch :)
The watch is over priced, if it didn't have Omega on it would cost £100 🤷
That's so cool!
everyone is wrong?
Yes and no
Chinese versions are about £30
@@johnadams-wp2yb and Omega versions are over £6000

Dunno about your cutting mate, got motion sickness. Unwatchable, sorry
Thanks for the feedback. Funny thing is, it increases viewers retention in general by over 15%. Weird.
@@watchmewithwatches Is that the only factor.? How many in your sample? that retention audience is what demographic .? . Im tempted to believe it demonstrates the goldfish like attention span of the milleniel viewer. Nico does it as well, the three second rule, anyway good luck.
That watch is really crap..
Thanks for checking out my video!
