Yeah, I agree it is odd that the instruction has a black background,.
LEGO have a lot of testbuilders, (families outside LEGO System), that build and review everything on the sets - boxes, instructions building experiences etc. before it goes into production.
And I agree that the 18 plus is to high.

Great review. Today I received my Crocodile. Believe me or not, one part was missing and it was the big flanged wheel!!! They are packed in sets of 3, but one bag was torn and only 2 wheels left. My locomotive looks like a 3 legged table now... I asked Lego immediately for replacement part and they answered really quickly that part is out of stock and guess what they wrote... "Lots of fans sell old LEGO pieces online, so you may be able to buy the needed part second-hand"... I am collecting and playing Lego sets for over 35 years and this is the first time anything is missing,
and it is something so important for the entire structure... I am really disappointed.

Not because of a packaging error, although it ruined all the fun from building, but more of the customer approach in the complaint department.

Great review! Well I'm very confused about the black background for the instruction, in this particular moment where all are involved to reduce the pollution, a company like Lego use tons of black ink to print a book that is also difficult to read! And the other things is that use plastic for all the small bags to contain the pieces...why not to use paper??? Anyway the model looks good... I think that the hub and the motor are very expensive: to buy both you spent almost the same for the model.

One thing that bothers me about this set is the 3rd and 4th gauge axles aren’t supposed to be static under the cab and rather also swivel with the noses, according to the Swiss CE 6/8 II. Looking forward to seeing someone take a shot at making this set “more realistic”. There’s an interesting concept I saw a long time ago by a steam engine MOC creator where he swiveled the train bogie along a rotating axle to power a bogie. I could definitely picture someone doing something similar with this set with one motor for each of the noses. www.flickr.com/photos/steampoweredbricks/5272700291/
