@@AlexTeo are the TB shop discount worth the money compared to buying from ezbuy with Prime shipping? It seems to be more expensive to buy direct considering the shipping fee being more than the discount you can get?
@@sashime00 that's why its not worth to buy from taobao if you are just buying a couple of small items, go with shopee instead. Not a fan of ezbuy with their prime shipping.

thanks a lot Alex for sharing. one query, for direct taobao delivery, will we be able to know the estimated cost of shipping from the warehouse to singapore before the item is purchased? consolidated shipping will only lower the cost so that’s not an issue, just wondering if we are able to know the rough or max shipping cost we have to fork out before deciding whether to purchase the item. thank you!

Hi Alex, at 6.21 when you showed the shipping methods, what do those prices correspond to? It seems like i have the same prices indicated on my app as well but we have totally different items.
Also, why is the air shipment reflected here cheaper than by sea? Shouldnt it be the other way round?

Hello, would like to ask your opinion on the shipping method. I understand on paper, sea shipping is the cheapest, but I heard all shipping via sea from Taobao will be charged GST. Was it worth it compared to air shipping which only charges GST if the parcel values over $400?

However now when I try to consolidate my items to get it shipped to Singapore, I sort of is unable to locate my LED lights which is already received by the warehouse in China. Hi Alex, I’m stuck after consolidating my items at the warehouse (trying to ship out my items from warehouse). I can’t make payment, my credit and debit cards aren’t accepted! Other options are to use Taiwan banks or Ali pay… Am I doing something wrong here?

Hi Alex , there's some xiaomi products on taobao that are cheaper than overseas. But may I know if these products are compatible with the Mi Home App ( Chinese Mainland Region ) , for example the Xiaomi Air Purifiers on Taobao . Im unsure because there are some products such as the Roborock S7, which is known as the T7s on Taobao that would not work outside of China. And whenever I contact the sellers , they say that they are not sure and wouldn't recommend me buying it. I've seen your smart doorlock which was bought from taobao but you can still use it , which really confuses me. Would really appreciate any help / advices from you, thanks !

Actually the part where you select 海运 (集运)，空运 (集运) or 直运 is to determine what type of shipping the items will go through when enroute to Singapore. So if don’t mind waiting and the item is very big and or heavy, 海运 (sea shipping) is good, else select 空运 (air shipping) if need the items fast and or the weight and size are negligible.
I don’t recall I can re-select the type of shipping when the items reach taobao warehouse and pending the final leg to Singapore. Hence it is very important to select the correct type of shipping before checking out. If select air shipping for big bulky items, then prepare to get a shock when the item reach taobao warehouse and pending buyer action to pay and ship the items to Singapore.
thanks for the good comment input Sylvester. Let me pin this up. Yeah air is definitely going to be faster but more expensive. I always go for the cheapest option, if i really need something so urgent I will probably use shopee/lazada or find it locally
Yeah, just wanna give a heads up that selecting the correct type of shipping at check out is very important.

Best is always after the entire renovation so that they won't be dirty. Some lights can go in first that one not a big problem. You can ask your ID or contractor when is a good peroid to start delivering them, then you work backwards the time

Hi Alex, I have never purchased big items from taobao. Just curious, how do u ensure that by the time u click on shipping to singapore and get the delivery to the new house just in time after the renovation, fix the things up, before moving in. I'm abit nerd when sometimes i can't even find the tracking numbers to trace the orders. I can only view on taobao platform when it arrives singapore and from there estimate the expected delivery day to arrive at my door step.
its hard to estimate, I will say about a month. You can also hold the item at the sg warehouse if for some reason your reno got delayed. Free for a certain period of time, then maybe need to pay some rental fee if you need to extend further. For my case, its during the serious covid period, the whole reno is paused so I need to keep inside their warehouse for a long period of time. But luckily without any additional cost. I'm taking example from ezship, not sure about the other 3rd party forwarders.
For the bulky furniture purchase, in your previous video you mentioned using ezbuy. As such did you still buy it on taobao website ezbuy give you their warehouse address, or you bought via ezbuy platform? Wondering how much does the shipping for all your bulky furniture cost as well!
bulky items suggest u go for 3rd party forwarder, cai niao got tons of limitation. u will end up paying more for redelivery to another forwarder, suggest going oops.sg or ezbuy. simple to use.

depending on the length of the curtain track you buying, can check what's the max size allowed, if too long then you need 3rd party forwarder then

Hello! I’m a bit confused, so at the last step when you put your address - is it the Singapore address or are you supposed to put the warehouse address? At which point do you include your Singapore address- is it after the consolidation step?
singapore address at 5:30 , the one infront is just for you to add the items to cart
If I am able to put in cart during my step and putting my sg address at first step instead of guandong- dongguan, this is ok right?
Hey Alex, I realized that some Xiaomi/Aqara products sold on taobao does not appear in Singapore’s Mi Home app but is available in the Mi Home app once you change your location to mainland China. Are there any cons in putting your location as mainland China?
that's because those products are only supported on the china server. This means no integration with google, and you might encounter latency at times

Realise that while taobao allows direct forwarding, they have certain restrictions like power activated products/mirror ( easily broken stuff ) are restricted as they don’t want the risk of being rejected by the customs . some will ask whether you want wooden crate, just get it to play safe then. But remember to get uncrate services when they arrive
