Hi Jenny, thanks for this video. It explained about a lot about international postage and assisted me in receiving the goods, as I found it difficult to understand when the seller said the goods were placed in the warehouse. All good now and paid for shipping and goods on their way.😀

Can you change the address at this stage to a local chinese address like a Guangzhou address After the items get consolidated?
for example: when the items reach Cainiao Consolidation Warehouse, Can I change the address to ship them to Guangzhou address instead of my address in Australia ?

hiya! there is usually a list on taobao detailing the prohibited items. Off the top of my head it is liquids (including makeup), perishables, branded items, flammable, wood, etc.!

one thing I could tell, most Chinese are probably like the process of shopping to that extent, that taobao intentionally make it a long, game-like process, so you have to spend quite a bit of time on the website. for me personally, it could be made Much more simple and efficient, if the interface were minimalistic!

Not Jenny but I live in China and shop form taobao! No, you don’t need to know any warehouse or shipping company to order from China. Since it will be sent by plane you will get a number and a link to track your order

When I first ordered from taobao I tested by ordering $1.00 tape. And I didn’t know that they are going to ask for shipping after order delivered to the cargo warehouse. And they asked for shipping to the USA CA $14.00. I was confused and didn’t pay for that and I just wasted $1.00 for nothing. And Im not gonna regret because that was just test.
Btw if you do have (hi dictionary ) you can translate everything

That simply means 'waiting for buyer to combine'- you need to select the items which you're planning to ship to your address from the warehouse as explained at 6:37

yes you can order separately! i think the items can stay at the warehouse for maximum 15 days before you have to pay extra. it will display next to your item how much longer :)

This video was so helpful, thank you! I have a question: I accidentally consolidated a single item into a shipment order before my other items had arrived at the warehouse. I haven't paid for international shipping so I don't think they have actioned it yet. It gives me the option to 取消集运, will this allow me to redo the consolidation with the other items, or will it cancel that entire order? I don't know any Chinese, so it's a bit unclear to me! :)
update: it's all good now, looks like they automatically cancelled the international shipment since I hadn't paid yet

a lot of people use shopping services but recently, it is possible to order directly from taobao. Though I think there is a list of countries/areas that they can ship to? I'm not sure, you have to check if they can ship to your place.

1. Does taobao not email you an order confirmation / recipe ?
