This guy "forgot" that US depends on Saudi Arabia and other OPEC countries for price. Too high - US will be hit. Too low - frackers are doomed (as you can read in texts ~15 years ago). Further, US can't provide CHEAP gas to Europe. Price was the catch of Russian gas. Fracking is way more expensive than classical drilling.
Indeed, for the gas part, US (and others) LNG is 4-5 x times the price of russian gas, who came directly to us by pipelines. Part of the cost is the liquifaction / regasification process, which consumes vast amounts of energy. Then, you have to find a tanker to transport the LNG, and they are not that many of them worldwide. During the winter 2022/2023 in Belgium, it wasn't unheard of to have an energy bill (gas + electricity) be more expensive that your rent.
Moreover, the US and even more so the EU, need OPEC trade surpluses being as much as possible recycled within their own financial systems and not somebody else's. They also need to export as much as possible to oil-rich countries. Control of oil-rich regions is the absolute number one imperative on global geopolitics.
