Do you love Dr. Martens boots? What age were you when you got your first pair? 👋😃🥾🥾
I love them! I got my first pair in grade six and was SO pleased! My poor mum as I grew out of them very promptly 😓 I have a pair again now as an adult and they are just SO comfortable! (After the notorious break in period haha!)
I got my first pair nearly 30 years ago. Loved them! Got 3 other pairs, but don’t have any left.
Lordy no! Stiff and heavy and awful! But enjoy them if you like them!
I had an aunt that had many pairs in many colors. I always lusted after them. I think I got my first pair when I was 12 or 13? Maybe a bit older. I opted for classic black, but always kind of wished I had gone for a color like blue, red, or green. (Makes sense now knowing that I'm also a DYT 1/4.😉 )
I like Doc Martens, but never had a pair.
But i love Duckfeed and buy a new once soon.

I’ve just got my first pair of Doc Martens for my 54th birthday in a few weeks. (I had a few pairs of lookalike ones when I was younger in the 80s). I’m super chuffed with them, they’re the soft leather Pascals, look very similar to yours but mine are a brownish/ burgundy colour 😃

I like the lighter yellow jacket. I never had Dr. Martens. When I was starting Jr. high school all I wanted was a pair of white "Go Go" boots like Nancy Sinatra. I got them and wore them almost daily. Guess I'm showing my age. TFS
I learned from my Mom to tweak my clothes as necessary. I’m always hemming, altering, changing details, dyeing, etc., to get the exact item I want. Now, if it ever cools down here in California, I really need to edit my bloated wardrobe. For the first time, I developed the terrible habit of buying fast-fashion online to combat lockdown boredom, and am trying to reform!
In the 90s I spent my first paycheck on a pair of Dr. Martens. My mum thought I was crazy, but I wore that pair every day all the way through highschool!
I love velvet hangers! Nothing falls off and they’re not too ‘fat’
I have a pair of Doc Marten brown tie shoes that I bought at a yard sale years ago. They are so well made and comfortable and I love wearing them in the fall with jeans and sweaters. Classic.
My current Dr.Martens boots are pink, they call it raspberry, had them for several years now. My son lives near the D M factory and factory shop my latest pair had them a year now are lavender sandals, enjoy your lovely white ones

Brilliant idea to bleach your jacket to tone down the bumblebee yellow.....I love the look now.
We love a trip to the Dr. Marten shop in Edinburgh and the bonus is that I have little feet so can choose from the fancy kids designs too! My favourites are black with white and red roses on!
You look fantastic; I love the fun flip on your hair. The flip is such a flattering way to frame your face.
Doc Martins brought back memories. My grand niece bought a cream colored pair and I did not dare tell her that they are vintage classics. I followed more New Romantic and New Age styles because creating vintage clothes combinations was so much fun. I spent only one summer in black, fishnets and safety pins.
Decluttered 6 skorts while watching. Wore the heck out of them, but life changes, and I had to buy more modest gym shorts to go to physical therapy and do workouts. Now I have a permanent home for the new stuff. The new shorts are soft and stretchy because they were designed as swim shorts. Bonus triple duty to wear them for swimming, kayaking and gym workouts!

I also like to have a wardrobe, that takes me trough all four seasons. It has taken me some years to build up, but I have learnt a lot about my preferences by doing that :)
Always wanted a pair of Doc Martens boots as a teen, but I found a pair of men’s Oxford style in oxblood at the Salvation Army, 20 years ago, (was in my thirties) still wear and love them to this day. When I was a teacher my students thought I was pretty darn cool with those. 🤩 my daughter, however, loves her big bulky Doc combat boots!

I haven't had a pair of DMs for about 30 years. My son got a pair this last month, so I decided I wanted a pair. Now I really want some. I'm a type 3, but I probably won't get white.
I am a type 2 secondary 1 in the dressing your truth system and finally have the got the feminine style I love wearing
My younger daughter wore Doc Martens.(We call them Doc, not Doctor.) My next door neighbor always asked her why she was wearing shoe boxes on her feet, but she loved those boots! I am happy to hear they are no longer so heavy.
LOL! And, yes, we call them Docs too! 😍
I love the yellow rain jacket. The muted down yellow now lemon colour looks so much better.
My daughters loved Dr. Martens! They wore them as their school shoes. I loved them because they were practically indestructible!

Im a fan of my black steve madden with chunky soles 🤩 gives me a punk/grunge edge + they elongate my legs
Love the effect of covid on trends, the need for escapism from reality had such a good refreshing effect in the fashion scene 🤩 (gotta put some light on the positives too!)
Had my first Docs in the ‘70s. I wore them through many Canadian winters and in many punk venues. The right one actually did fall apart! I put clothes on probation too! My sister’s town just started a clothes swap box that gets passed around to a list of people for a limited time for each person. I love this idea and when it’s her turn we get together to check it out!

I bought my ‘Docs’ when I was 14. I think I still have them in the attic. They’ll be 30 years old next year 😬🤣 Was definitely a rite of passage here in Australia in the 90s. I wonder if my daughter will end up with a pair!

I was 19. They were black, I polished them inside with a bone handled knife as advised by my grandma. I adored them. I gave them to my sister as my to be husband hated them.

I wore black DM shoes about 25 years ago, nearly killed me wearing them in! Bought my first pair of DM boots about 2 weeks ago - special offer at local DM outlet shop - proper bargain and in a pale frosted lilac leather. Gorgeous soft leather I still can't' believe how comfy. Having help lacing them up as my arm in cast but well worth it!! Always bought them for my DD's but not for me, now they've fled the nest it's my turn!! Woo hoo!😂🥳
It's funny how the models are so different, Rosie - some are as hard as bricks, others really soft! LOL!
I had some DM boots at the age of 13/14 (early 90s) and I lived in them! I also had a couple of pairs of DM shoes in senior school - black with the yellow stitching! Very tempted to get some now I've seen yours!! X
Ooh! Love your Docs! I had several pairs in high school - green lace-up boots, brown nubuck oxfords, the fisherman sandals, and a pair of brown Mary Janes. Ah, the 90s. I have been thinking about a brown pair again - lace-up boots. (I’m a DYT 3/4!)
Loving those white Dr Martens! I got my first Docs when I was 18 or 19. I also had the shoes and they were really heavy, but I remember how comfortable they were in the footbed. I bought a few pairs over the years (mostly black with colourful stitching) and have been considering purchasing a pair of their Chelsea boots. I would like to try them on first, though!

Hey Diane, I got my first pair of docs when I was 17 back in the early 1990s and had them consistently for quite a few years and really loved them - I always wanted a purple pair but have never got around to getting any because of the price, but they're still on my wish list 30 years later 😉

My 24 yr old son has a pair of Dr Martens and loves them! I remember having many friends who wore them but I never did have a pair myself.
I remember how happy I was to buy my first Doc Martens when I was 16 and into punk music. I still have the same pair and wear them all the time (I'm now 38 and they have been fixed a couple times now). They have seen so much live music with me haha!

Those Doc Martens are beauties! I love the floral ones. Just to say they were part of the "skinheads" uniform during very late sixties/early seventies. My (boy) cousin had a few pairs but of course they were not pretty like yours but great, clunky things in dark colours.

One of my Dr Martens got chewed by a puppy. They were blue.
What I wanted this summer was vegan Dr Marten sandals but my foot isn't the right shape. They wouldn't fasten.

After having a tumour removed from my pituitary gland five weeks ago, the last two weeks I have been doing the TOTH doing little jobs around the house as my husband had just gone back to work. It truly is a life saver as doing a few minutes and then knowing the rest of the hour is spent resting up is brilliant 🙂
Oh my goodness, I loved my Docs!!! In my late teens/early twenties I wore them all the time until they were beyond rescue. I'd get another pair instantly if I could find a pair that fit me - either their sizing has changed since the 90s or my feet have...

Just saw my velvet multicoloured doc boots on Etsy described as rare and vintage! I enjoyed wearing them for years, preferably with long flowing skirts! They were so colourful, all my clothes matched them😂
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦! Love your look today! I never had a pair of Doc Martens, but in high school and university I wore Chuck Taylor basketball shoes (We called them Chucks). I still have two pairs that I refuse to part with, even though I rarely wear them here - every office (dentist, doctor, chiropractor, etc.) you visit in this Canadian city asks you to remove your footwear. Because of the laces, removing Chucks is difficult, so I wear slip-on boots and shoes.
I love your Doc Martens. I've always liked such boots but have never owned a pair. When I was young, they were too expensive and also it is very hard for me to fit (wear) boots of any kind in the zone this week I can declutter so many things. I'll have to decide whether to do my dresser top or drawers. If I have time, maybe I can do a bit of both enjoy your week.🎉🎊

I never had Doc Martens, but I have similar-style chunky leather boots in a lot of colors. I love them. (Someone told me they were uncomfortable, so I bought a comfort brand.)
I bought my first pair of Dr. Martens at 16, for $110US, at Hot Topic... and I had to go to the city to buy them. I actually destructed them. Lol. Wore right through the back of the soles because I tend to drag my feet. Lol. It is crazy that I remember all that!
Got my first and only pair (so far) of Doc Martens in 1985 - black of course! I wore them for years, so comfy that I even wore them waiting tables. Only prob was they only came in full sizes, so were too big for me and I ended up tripping a lot 🙄.
I love how the yellow looks now much soft colour and it really suits you. Would love to know how you "Bleach Bath" your yellow jacket. I have a jacket similar to your yellow jacket but my colour is deep bright orange and thought if only it was a slight lighter/soft orange would look nice, I have changed the buttons from black to cream/white colour and it has made a difference. Could you please let me know what type of bleach and how to do it. Take care Ashwina

I saw the girls wear them when teaching in the high schools. I washed my other duvet and cover this morning, now drying. Nothing else to do in the bedroom, Washing bath rugs tomorrow. I am glad to be ahead, since it is time to be closing up the garden and my attentions are needed elsewhere. My fav jackets are the Chanel cut ones. I do not like lapels.
Re nail varnish. I worked out I had a zillion bottles of various colours and shades, taking up so much space, and guess what - I go to the nail salon 💅🏼 and have acrylic tips with gel colour! So my collection went out OUT!

Go for it!!! I just bought my first pair of DM boots and they are amazing, so soft! I have had loads of positive remarks about them. Am over 50 too, wasn't sure about the DM look/age thing but so glad I braved it now 😆💖

After doing DYT for a while and finding out I’m a 1/4 or 4/1 I now now why the type 3 colours I have just don’t suit me.
Mustard yellows, khaki greens, large brown animal print etc.
It also goes with my other colour match which is a deep winter so I can where the berry colours.
I’m going to get some dye and buttons and see where I go from there 🥰❤️

What will you wear your doc martens with. I’m 60 and have never owned a pair- I haven’t lived. Now considering them. I did buy Boden army boots (similar) a few weeks ago. But I fancy your white ones x

Do you wear white slacks/jeans in the winter?
No, no light coloured jeans in the winter but that's mainly because I prefer dark colours on my bottom half anyway (balances out my pear shape).

Love your boots. I've been trying to declutter my jewellery, but I don't know what to do. I lost my husband ten years ago. We were married for 34years. During that time I was lucky enough to have some lovely jewellery given to me. I have remarried and found that I don't wear my old jewellery. In fact I seem to wear more colourful costume jewellery. I know that I could sell my old jewellery I haven't got any family to hand it down to. But I just can't bring myself to do it. What would you do.?
Could you get some more of the pieces redesigned? If you’re in the UK look at Michelle dawn jewellery. She sells lovely pieces but also redesigns to make old jewellery into something that you will wear.

Hi Joan - perhaps you could trade some in at a jewelers and buy some new pieces that you will love and wear! You can take photos of your jewellery so you still have it for memory's sake.

Hi Amy! You don't need to have your camera switched on for Zoom (the default setting is OFF), you can use audio only, so would be like talking on the phone. Hope that helps!
