Yeah, but you can hardly criticize them because it’s always the response that “ you just don’t want girls to embrace their sexuality”, or some shit. It’s really stupid. I was one of those teenagers impacted by this idea that my femininity and my value as a person depended on my sexual activity and sexualization of my body. As a result, it has done nothing but negatively affect my life. But no one will be accountable for it because there is still the mentality that open expression of sexuality (and even nudity in some insane cases) is prime female empowerment. Like literally just not too long ago there were so many scandals about adult women on only fans, encouraging there, underage viewers to sign up to only fans when they would become legal and use affiliate links to do so. I don’t understand why some think that sex and biology education has to also encourage overt sexualisation of girls. It’s beyond me.
Honestly, I just wish people would stop commenting on whether or not a girl’s clothes are overly sexual because either way it places pressure on girls to conform to certain/different misogynist expectations and terms (slut/prude, sexually liberated/sexually repressed, etc). This way girls can choose to wear what they want without having the entire internet and their parents in their head as they do so and just dress for themselves. However, this is unrealistic of me as we’d need to change our entire culture 😅
The ironic part about fans attacking music reviewers is when some of these albums they hear it for themselves and then they also hate it but sometimes they hate it more than what the critics did.
I agree so much with the part on gruesome content. This year in my country there was a terrible accident where a young woman was hit by a bus and her body was massacred terribly in the process. There was a lot of people around who recorded the accident with their phones, took photos of her dead body and posted all over social media, there were people who even found her relatives and decided to bully them with those photos in their dms and it ended up with some of those relatives going to a therapy. It felt like the whole country has seen these photos and videos and it was considered "normal" while I was deliberately avoiding clicking at any links that led to those contents. A couple of months later my friends from a group chat made a reference to the girl's name and I expressed that I didn't know who they were talking about and they were very surprised that I didn't know and immediately pulled out the links to those gruesome videos of her death and started sending to me (even though I didn't ask for them, I only said "I don't know who you're talking about" not "can someone explain to me who it is"). At that moment I remembered who they were talking about and didn't click at any of those links but the fact that they felt it was alright to share them among friends and they had them saved just to be able to pull them out within seconds months after the accident made me feel like we belong to two different species of human.
That is horrible i’ve always thought that taking pictures of/recording a deceased person or gruesome accident’s is inhumane. I have no idea what the thought process is.

It's so boring and so lazy and I hate every single one of those lazy sample songs, especially the one that sampled Never Gonna Give You Up...
I just hope that in 2023, the charts finally get out of this ridiculous lull that it's been in since the end of last year, and we actually start getting "interesting" new songs instead of relying on songs from a year or two ago that are still hanging around (or really old songs that get popular again because they were in a TV show or something) to be our "current" big hits

I do want some newer acts to actually blow up. I have heard a lot of amazing acts on tiktok and RUclips but you have to dig so deep to find them. The ones that blow up and have an industry push don't seem like they will have longevity but the acts that really feel like true artists are being pushed aside and are fighting tooth and nail to be seen. Idk I feel like the industry used to really scout for new artists, now that its more accessible it has become lazy and just looking for what 20 sec. sound is popular (for all of like 10 minutes)
super agree!! I’ve found some acts I like through socmed (ex. FLO), but I agree that we need to see the artists that fight for their place become successful more
I don’t know because a lot of the time when these good artist do get signed, it ends up being a mistake. The labels end up keeping them on retainer essentially. They don’t promote them or let them release the music that made them so great. Their careers fizzle out. This has happened to Tinashe, Normani, etc.
@@LoveK1 that is true. I guess I mean like I wish record labels would really take a risk and bet on new artists. If they make amazing music independently, give them a push in the right direction, see how there first album or two turn out and go from there. They give up on new artists way too soon.
Thank you for drawing attention to the gruesome videos, it’s disgusting! I deleted twitter because of the amount of animal and child abuse I was being exposed to.
Some older songs do this really well. The Next Episode by Dre and Snoop is 2 minutes and 41 seconds. Still holds up as a well-versed and well-produced song today. It's a matter of getting your point across in a unique way.

Even the songs that are legitimately really good like a summer renaissance, 7 rings, etc. I just get so put off with the samples
I blame Melanie Martinez for the nursery rhyme pop, but the music she’s inspired is so much worse than anything she’s actually dropped herself. It is sooo creepy and weird. Why do you have to make sexual references while your music video takes place in a child’s room and you’re singing twinkle twinkle little star, Leah Kate? Keep your weird kinks out of your music. It makes my skin crawl
stans really need to chill, and i say this as a stan. at the end of the day, critics are just doing their jobs, and i don't get why people are so bothered by what a single publication said about an album. there are hundreds of thousands of people giving that same album a 10/10, so why be bothered by another person saying it's a 7/10, especially when it's not a bad score like you pointed out?! i feel like people have to take a step back sometimes. fandom is supposed to be fun, an outlet, not a reason to attack people.
I agree with the sampling I love a sample but not when it’s literally the same song a good example of a sample I heard recently was coco Jones double back sampling svw rain
THE LAZY SAMPLES omg YES! Leaving Blumenace and Crazysean in the Past YES YES YES. I’m so sick of them. They’re abusive towards each other and volatile.

Keep telling people stop looking in the gutter for gold cause all that’s there is trash. Radio and mainstream playlist
Mark Grondin who goes by the name of Spectrum Pulse here on RUclips actually gave up giving albums scores in his reviews this year on his channel because of fans giving too much emphasis on the score and not on the review itself like I agree giving an album a 7/10 is not "terrible" it's constructive criticism that's their job to give their thoughts and critique on an album whether it's RUclips music critics like Mark and Anthony Fantano of the Needle Drop or a major music critique publication like Pitchfork and Rolling Stone it's their job plain and simple music is subjective at the end of the day just because a critic doesn't enjoy an album doesn't mean you have to take their word and just because an album is not a perfect 10 doesn't mean they hate it and that you have to berate them either
Good that u speaking your mind. This world is definitely 90% fake driven and I hate the fact that people make credit out of nowhere. There's gonna be shit everywhere, always. But if u are open and real inside, the whole shit is blurry and u see real art somewhere. Meanwhile, real creative artists are living and I am happy that my brain isn't a dummy thing like the mainstream media/music wants to.
I agree so much with the saturation of these gruesome videos. People freak out over kids being exposed to dangerous ideas but no one is talking about that creepy childrens side of youtube. Kids are such a huge percentage of the people on this and much other social media.
I agree with you on the gruesome content! Just recently I saw a dead baby on my feed and it was absolutely heartbreaking...they need to do better with censorship or blocking that content.
I see an example on social media: pop stans rely so much on critics/media/chart/award show to validate their artists' existence, starving to be praised so hard. They always bring numbers to the table. While rock stans for example, just vibing the to music, debate the music quality according to their own taste and go to sleep.
Nah rock and metal fans are cunts mate. The second an artist changes their sound they get ostracized by their own fanbase and boycotted. Like all the metalcore gateway bands started taking an Industrial, alternative or punk approach to music and every metal subreddit and discussion space just fucking hates them now; hell Metallica's fanbase's gimmick is cyberbullying Lars for his entire career
the sampling one!! one good example of sampling is the song “feature me” by Flo. they took the instrumental of one in a million by Aaliyah and made it into their own thing.
It's good sampling its done right because everyone involved are talent, seasoned musicians that know how to interpolate music. Like Nicki's always been a creative person when it come to interpolating song lyrics/melodies/rythmns etc from other musicians and even genres. However, going into the discussion about sampling I think it's unfair to call it 'lazy', even for the examples given - i may not like them...at all - they are song that are written by producers and artists who just want to churn our a hit/single/whatever to get their names out there. Also their young, so obviously circumstances are this may be the worst music they released in their career as they are just starting out. I take for example alot of DnB + EDM producers who have watched the entire jungle grown and evolve over the years through the use of sampling hits and remixing them, in their inception it was incredible but nowadays taking a song and slapping a nice drum pattern over it isn't gonna cut it. TL;DR sample culture is good, Nicki is good. Young pop/celebrity artists will by default make shit music because they aren't seasoned and or haven't found their strides yet.
Leave bad concertgoers acting like they don't have home training or common decency at concerts in 2022. You pay a pretty penny to go see your favorite band. And then they have to stop the show for someone else's stupidity.
I want to add a trend we need to leave in the dust. Acting like Elon Musk is the second coming of Christ. Or acting like any regular person is infallible and verbally attacking another over that person not agreeing.
@Pink Pussy Records Lmfaoo I bet you laugh at “gaslight, girlboss” memes. 💀💀 Acting like the Ohio memes are bad, y’all goofy. There’s nothing wrong with the memes. The “boys” don’t have bad humour, especially since it’s not just dudes making those jokes. Y’all mad at jokes, LMAO.
Singers need to stop claiming they write their own music when all they do is change a word, it irks me so much and it’s kinda disrespectful to the actual songwriters who create a body of work.
Another trend: stop giving Kanye West any kind of attention and platform.
Ye West, not Kanye

2022 was kinda meh in comparison to the previous two in pop
It was crazy in pop culture in general tho.
Totally agree
The only pop song that wasn’t cringey and was a breathe of fresh air, was Bam Bam by Camila Cabello
@@jordanhaller8973 No. 💀
@@jordanhaller8973 not Cameltoe-
I feel like the other two were kinda dragged down by how many duds there were
Last year had some great highs and many cavernous lows
In comparison to this year where weve had some nice highs but not so bad lows
I do want some newer acts to actually blow up. I have heard a lot of amazing acts on tiktok and RUclips but you have to dig so deep to find them. The ones that blow up and have an industry push don't seem like they will have longevity but the acts that really feel like true artists are being pushed aside and are fighting tooth and nail to be seen.
Idk I feel like the industry used to really scout for new artists, now that its more accessible it has become lazy and just looking for what 20 sec. sound is popular (for all of like 10 minutes)
super agree!! I’ve found some acts I like through socmed (ex. FLO), but I agree that we need to see the artists that fight for their place become successful more
that or they're talented but end up in scandals
@@yona4121 Oh my goodness I love FLO (I found them on my spotify discover weekly) I really hope they blow up big we need new girl groups
I deleted twitter because of the amount of animal and child abuse I was being exposed to.
that’s insane i’m sorry that you were exposed to that, i’ve had twitter for almost 8 years now and have never came across anything like that 🤢
You’re so on about the gruesome videos on social media, I feel desensitized and hate when stuff like that comes up on my feed.
There's 2 songs named after DOJA? She really is that girl 💅
they are about two different dojas
it wasn't about crusty musty doja cat
☠️☠️☠️☠️
I guess that’s it
That’s the reason I left Twitter I would randomly come across videos of ppl dying in horrible situations.
They’re not even trying with the nursery rhymes songs, Melanie Martinez is the only one that actually does it right and these “artist” should learn
songs less than 3mins need to GO. i need a second verse, a strong bridge and an outro instrumental PLEASE.
THIS
some songs do it pretty well tho
Some older songs do this really well. The Next Episode by Dre and Snoop is 2 minutes and 41 seconds. Still holds up as a well-versed and well-produced song today. It's a matter of getting your point across in a unique way.
I kind of want more creative music videos and actual album projects from artist. Not everything has to be a single.
well what artists are you listening to that only singles
Thank you for pumping out so much of this quality content. I’m here for every piece of commentary, addressing everything we are thinking is so refreshing
You’re good-hearted and compassionate. Your words and videos make this evident. THANK YOU! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How about we just leave TikTok in 2022? That app has become too much. Makes me glad that I don't have one.
@@pinkpussyrecords, I agree
Same. I only have youtube and Tumblr 😭
Only instagram, RUclips and Pinterest should stay ❤
I still believe that Facebook is the worst one though...
Or leaving the artists make their own music instead of forcing them to trend on TikTok...
#1 TREND: Pay for nominations, awards and chart positions and BRAG ABOUT THEN
I'm going to plan on doing that

I think we should leave the “obese/being fat is healthy” trend in 2022
And can we please stop calling everything that's popular overrated?
I’m glad you mentioned sampling cuz that’s the first thing I thought about when I clicked this video. The lazy ones are the worst like you mentioned but I honestly personally hate all of them. Even the songs that are legitimately really good like a summer renaissance, 7 rings, etc. I just get so put off with the samples
the Kardashians thank God are fading

**Cough** Chrissy wake up **cough** corn song **cough**
😅 I kind of liked the corn song
@@MeMarcusTheCreator me too😭
I like both songs lol
Heidi Klum doing the worm was THE halloween costume of 2022. and thats just a fact
THE LAZY SAMPLES omg YES!
Leaving Blumenace and Crazysean in the Past YES YES YES. I’m so sick of them. They’re abusive towards each other and volatile.
I feel like this year was amazing for music, especially rap music. So many great albums this year
Rap was complete shit this past year. 😂
@@DrewRueDoomainstream rap was but everything was good
@@DrewRueDoo nah there were a ton of good projects and songs. Kendrick, Denzel, JID, Vince, Smino, Roddy Ricch, etc.
There were a lot of great projects, but also a lot of BS. Kinda ran neck and neck, but I’d say it was a decent year.
@@nbabackcourtmediawhile I don’t know about Roddy cause I haven’t listened to him after LLF, but the others I fully agree with you! That list is just the surface too. I feel like so many artist go unnoticed for the good projects they put out and people just say rap is bad now or there isn’t good music.
Melanie martinez is the only one who should and can use Nursery rhymes shes the only one who does it right..
I agree.. Remember that reference in Tag, you're it?

Loving your videos lately!
And there's the legend Taylor who interpolates her own song in her new song, a freaking genius
You mean Out Of The Woods in Question?.... ? 😃
I agree with you on the gruesome content! Just recently I saw a dead baby on my feed and it was absolutely heartbreaking...they need to do better with censorship or blocking that content.
Chloe's Halloween Photoshoot made sense due to needing Storm's weather powers to pop out.
I’m always so early to these without post notification 😅😂
Thank you so for mentioning Blueface and that girl. happy you said this
ive been waiting for this
I see an example on social media: pop stans rely so much on critics/media/chart/award show to validate their artists' existence, starving to be praised so hard. They always bring numbers to the table. While rock stans for example, just vibing the to music, debate the music quality according to their own taste and go to sleep.
Nah rock and metal fans are cunts mate. The second an artist changes their sound they get ostracized by their own fanbase and boycotted. Like all the metalcore gateway bands started taking an Industrial, alternative or punk approach to music and every metal subreddit and discussion space just fucking hates them now; hell Metallica's fanbase's gimmick is cyberbullying Lars for his entire career
imma keep it a bean with you. ion think the gruesome stuff being exposed in the internet is ever gonna stop. not with the year numbers getting higher.
The video we didn't know we needed right before 2022 ends🙌🏽
the sampling one!! one good example of sampling is the song “feature me” by Flo. they took the instrumental of one in a million by Aaliyah and made it into their own thing.
How do you feel about Nicki Minaj’s freaky girl in terms of samples? I’m genuinely curious what’s your opinion on it
It's good sampling its done right because everyone involved are talent, seasoned musicians that know how to interpolate music.
Bruh. Thank you for that nursery rhyme thingie. I didn’t know how to even put it into words lol
No one does nursery rhymes into songs like Melanie Martinez
What is/are your favourite(s) off of midnights, honest?
A clever name-drop must put a spin on the name used. None of the songs mentioned in this video do this.
this is indeed the list & baby you nailed it!!!
Leave bad concertgoers acting like they don't have home training or common decency at concerts in 2022. You pay a pretty penny to go see your favorite band. And then they have to stop the show for someone else's stupidity.
OMG, the gruesome videos.... thank you for that!
Honestly sampling has been a problem for about five years now.
I totally agree with the gruesome video part. Especially on tiktok
Evermore was so good ❤❤❤😩
Anne Marie’s song phyco is legit one of the best examples of sampling I’ve seen in a while, obsessed with it
‘Carry your own weight’ 👏 couldn’t have said it better myself.
the halloween one is so true lol internet/social media used to be all about "random fun" but now is all about "contentification" of everything 💀
beyonce and nicki are the only artists that have been using samples the right way i believe
this is gonna be good
I want to add a trend we need to leave in the dust. Acting like Elon Musk is the second coming of Christ. Or acting like any regular person is infallible and verbally attacking another over that person not agreeing.
it’s that time of year again
Lets leave the ohio trend in 22 too

Acting like the Ohio memes are bad, y’all goofy.

Here's a trend in music I hate and hope stops: whisper singing. For God's sake, just sing!
Singing doesn't always have to be high pitched. It's the artist's choice what and how they wanna sing. If you don't like it stop listening to it
What exactly do you mean by whisper singing?
there is something called tone... not every singer needs to belt out all the time
