- In this War Thunder Video I give my first gameplay impression of the event vehicle object 292 This vehicle is a russian 10.0 with a 152mm gun that has a pretty bad reload for the BR that its at of 10.0. You can get this tank by getting 45k score 8 times during the War Thunder event.

This vehicle has the same cool factor as the obj 279. I bet the value of this tank will go really high in the future.
When people are allowed to sell the coupon will be interesting if it is more expensive then past events.

Any long range map this tank will be an absolute monster, urban maps you'll want to rely on teammates and hanging in the background as a support vehicle. The HE round is insane so if you wanna go Ruskii9000 mode, this tank will bonk anything. Could see the value of the tank being pretty high in 4-5 years, have to take into consideration "Will the game still be as popular in that timeframe?" Regardless it's an insanely good tank, with very different playstyle. Must play a lot more cautiously rather than running in like a headless chicken, comparing what you'd normally do with a T-72 or T-80.

No thermals and 5 degrees of gun depression means the 292 will be a sitting duck in long range maps, if the map has low clouds or fog its literally useless since you cant see anything beyond 300m. Close range maps will also suck because of a 10 second reload, meh reverse and armour, if you see more than 1 person and your screwed.
@@llthk138 Nah if you see a tank and you fire the round velocity will hit it in a matter of less then 2 seconds.
Just the HE shell alone makes it worth it in my opinion. Its basically a better VIDAR.
Minus the Gen 2 thermals.

I play the object 120 at 11.0 so this will just be a direct upgrade for me tbh since the playstyle is almost identical

Russia always sends out the torture. The only thing Russia really suffers against is France and Sweden after rank 4

Almost all tanks that have decent mobility and good gun are worth keeping. Especialy compared to last high tier event vehicles this one I keep for sure.
Well I actually main the 10.0 loadout you pointed out with the exact components so I really need that 292 to upgrade it
When will this thing become available on the market? My pc broke down before the event and i wont be getting it back this month. Will buy it for sure bit need to know when its ready
I have grinded the US tank tree almost entirely and i used 10.0 and 10.3 tanks to do most of it and my favorite vehicle was the M1128, has amazing pen, great movement speed, reload is alright, but it has almost no armor except for the engine at the front (its a light tank). Having Gen 3 thermals and only a few things weighing it down in performance, i LOVE that vehicle, i think the Obj 292 is going to be the same for when i do my russian tech tree grind and that great armor and pen is just going to be SOO good for me, for me, the only bad things i can think of on the tank is the turret depression, reload speed, and no thermals. Which imo aint even that bad.
so it has great armor with downtier and becomes a glass cannon that can nuke anything up tiered. so you get 2 playstyles with it... nice

tbh i think this thing can be kinda fun as a HE lobber due to its gun caliber,we saw how good the vidar are already,this thing basically it but with 2 plane stabliser and some actual armor lol
The turms exist at the same br, mango has never been an issue for me it has a faster reload, thermals and citv. Era smokes and a machine gun to spot through smoke with. I seriously dont get the claims its gojng to be over powered. Now im juat waiting on the 477 so i can have my full 152mm line
The mobility+good turret armor really compliments the MASSIVE cannon

I’m just getting it to fill out my 10.0 lineup. For that, I think it’ll be great
I do believe that this tanks exists to be a "fun" tank, and not to be a meta vehicle or anything similar. Really big cannon, lot of pen, with many weaknesses just makes this a quirky but not unusable tank. Imma look forward to getting it.
Just think of it as a up armored VIDAR that also gets darts, that’s basically what this thing is

I imagine this is going to be a really fun tank with a powerful gun but you should still aim for crew due even though it is a massive caliber
well the velocity on snipping maps will be its biggest strength because that round is moving real quick

I think the price will be high because it has a really good lineup. Seemingly tanks in a good BR bracket will sell for a high price
Tip: You can have 8 shells in the tank hull without creating the exposed ammo rack of the vehicle

I’m keeping this, it’s effectively a modern KV-2 that happens to get darts… I also don’t have any top tier Russian tanks yet…
for 150mm+ cannon like this,always use HE.You will be upset more with apfsds isnt one shotting opponents,regardless of all cons you have said in the video,they dont always happen also this is one of the first stabilized 152mm with LRF in the game(there are m551 and m60a2 too but their HE arent very effective so i wont count them).for this tank play style,you should play it like a normal SPH.
HE muzzle velocity is only 980m/s you will trade way to often at range with the HE. Its good but still the dart will be the best option for 80% of engagements.
Top tier KV-2
Abrams don't care about your 6 inch KV-2. Not even about the improved versions HE.

Do we know if they will change the 292? From the research I've done I've noticed that you're supposed to have closer to 800mm of flat pen, and less turret armour.

@@DawgIVLifeit has been bug reported but gaijin has said before that they don't go off actual penetration reports anymore and just plug values into their calculator. So I wouldn't bet on it changing

Hey there just found out bout you from this video, i agree with most of your point of view and they are make sense, imo this tank is nothing special really but how the way it looks.
also im not bashing opinion around but i wonder why people compare this thing with obj 279, is just an under armored T80 where even 105s will not have hard time going thru normal T-80s especially without the relikt and lets be fair here about the gun, ignoring the flaws, at the same br everything could penetrate everything anyway.
not to mention Russian T seriess survivalibility compared to leopard, AMX 32/40, and abrums, I get it, sometimes volumetric fked us all but that works for every other vehicles aswell but this time this thing also got bigger shells inside the tank. we can always shit on T series turret roof armor if they somehow "hulldown" with most 105 gun not to mention some 120mm at this br, also you will mostly ride a higher profile vehicles to do that to your advantage most of the time.
Im keeping it because havent decide if ill put extra effort to get the coupon because im enjoying other games right now, i know a person who get the coupon 4 days after the event started , and i know for sure if im enjoying long session of war thunder atm i could do that aswell, ill decide to whenever ill get the coupon or no on the last 2 days of the event :D
This a unique looking tank and i kinda like it cause i m a collector my self, might aswell keeps it and i got mirage S-5 to sell anyway, THE HE round sounds looks fun but ill do them as back up anyway like, the other T series also got p huge HE round and im sure you get what im implying. we still getting the aircraft and ship part of the event later so lets see about it.
Overall this event is so MUCH better compared to crafting event, imo if they allow us to get the vehicle reward just like how we could get the coupon that would be amazing, ofc with no increased point requirement and no daily interval kind of stuff simply because somedays i got full appetite for war thunder in one day and some weeks later i dont but improvement for this kind of event would be appreciated. thank snail.

You see the Vikas came stock with APDS this thing will have its main round stock so will be a bit rougher.
Dude, I don’t wanna sound like THAT guy, but I feel like that particular TAM moment would’ve ended at the first shot, instead of the third, if you hadn’t whiffed. If the first shot you showed was placed a bit lower and to the left, seeing the absurd post pen damage this apfsds causes, you would have killed all the crew at the first shot. Still I get your point, but I think it’s only a matter of getting a feel for how to place your shots
I mean yea aiming would make that engagement much quicker but to me I kinda expected it to do more then what it did. That was only 1 clip but the same thing would happen to bradleys M1128s where it would pen and the round would over pen and do pretty much nothing.
Given the amount of points required to get a sell coupon, it’s really not really a choice between keep or sell it, IMHO. Grinding it out is not too bad, grinding the sell coupon, we’ll let’s just say I don’t expect a whole lot of these on the market.
This is a really cool tank... sadly I will never get the chance to own it.

it has no thermal or machinguns of any kind and thats a huge deal making 10.0 the right br. if you play it like a tank and not Esports counterstrike with go karts it will be good.
This fully op is a t80 in much less br with a better barrel, the reload does not matter for someone who shoots well, not like you
I play 5.3 sometimes 6.3 so this thing going to market for someone who enjoys higher ranks and br.

@@Freedom9X It depends if my day is busy but weekends I throw a lot of hours. And this is just one event, I am not going to do bother for planes and ships until next tank. Just play with best lineup for you and it's not really that hard but ofc it's way to much points to grind.

Another thing worth noting: because of the gun's massive calibre, that barrel is thicc as hell. Enemies are gonna have a field day taking potshots at your barrel if they can't pen you outright. And good luck trying to defend yourself with nothing but a 7.62mm coax.

Even as a sniper I don’t see it being very good. The gun handling and depression will definitely hinder it. Considering this thing is guaranteed to go up in br, I don’t see any reason to use it over the T-80B in Russia’s 10.7 and 11.0 lineup.

The reload being a problem shows how bad the survivability problem is in-game. Gaijin really thinks tanks can just absorb APFSDS shells and continue fighting as if nothing happened as long as 2 crew are alive. APHE is really the only round worth using
This looks good for my play style. Unfortunate i dont have the lineup for it.
Could always be a vehicle you save up till you get a decent lineup at 10.0

I think you underestimate the power of the HE lol. If you hit a leo in the lower tracks, it dies, if you hit the turret face (almost anywhere for a 2a4, lower part for the pizza slice leos), it dies, if you hit the upper plate of any m1, they die. Type 10 is a 1 shot to 125 HE to the turret side anyway, 152 is overkill
fun fact : normal russian 125 HE already can 1 shot leo by shooting the lower track,i accidentally did it once
@user-sg9ql8nk1u It's not super reliable and usually only takes out the track. You have to land your shell between the roadwheels and as close to the hull as u can which is not ez from the front

R we really that pressed about a 3 second longer reload rate? If you can’t play around a longer reload rate than you have a major skill issue. Not everything is a frontline cqb brawler, use critical thought for a change. It’s crazy how salty ppl r ab this tank.

All event vehicle upset game balance tbh it messes with mm for about 3 months or so
@@DawgIVLife IMO, this one will prove to be more disruptive than most. The 690+ pen is not easily overlooked even with it's few-ish other shortcomings. You can probably run it in an 11.7 line-up as a last pull sniper.
I would still always take this over an abrams, the m1 is 0.3 higher and is worse in everything other than reload and movement
I would still take the M1 over the 292. Even with M774 you can still do really well with the abrams.
Try playing safe, i know the M1 lacks at armor and penetration but u have 5 seconds reload which very useful at the most situation
