@Multorum Unum no. The "Dub" in "Dubstep" comes from the "Dub" in "Dub Reqqae" which was a movement in the late 60s-70s which focused on using remixing roots reggae tracks, usually stripping out the vocals, bringing the drums and bass to the forefront of the mix, and adding echo and reverb effects to add a heavy spacy feel. lol ok, let's go to the correction, i will only mention the wrong ones and highlight some. 01 - UK Dubstep yes, this is UK Dubstep, and it is the main genre. 02 - Substep no, its not a thing. its just UK Dubstep, its on spectrun. 03 - Post Dubstep it's a great story, but it can be considered a sub genre. 05 - Drumstep yes, Drumstep by definition is Brostep with Jump Up DnB, but can use another genre like Darkstep or Hardstep DnB sometimes. 07 - BRiddim Brostep with sound design by Riddim or Riddim with Drums and Sound Design by Brostep. I didn't consider it, it's Brostep. 11 - Metalstep yea, its. 12 - "Wubstep" lol its Complextro. 13 - Trapstep Hybrid Trap (Festival or Dirty Trap with Brostep). but by Trapstep you can refer to when Brostep predominates, not Trap (Brostep with Trap infulencies 15 - Roobstep It is not a thing, just Brostep 16 - Vomitstep it's just Snails Brostep signature. 19 - Wobblestep just modern UK Dubstep. 20 - Filthstep its Proto Brostep technically, when Brostep was developing. 23 - Liquid Dubstep Liquid Dubstep is different from Chillstep, and this is Chillstep too. 26 & 27 - Melodic Riddim and Future Riddim correct. both are not the same, Melodic Riddim is Riddim with Melodic Dubstep sound design. Future Riddim is Riddim with Future Bass sound design. both use a production Techniue called Color Bass that is not a sub genre, and it can be used in Melodic Dubstep as well. 28 - Futurestep yes, Future Bass with Melodic Dubstep, better call it Future Melodic Dubstep. gr8 example is Illenium. 29 - Animestep lol, its just Brostep with anime sapmles 30 - Nightstep as u mentioned in the description, its not a sub genre. its just Nightcore in Melodic Dubstep. and you forgot Liquid Drumstep lel, but dope video boi u forgot some fusion genres like Dubstyle, Cumbiastep, but itsnot necessaruy

It sounds like what I made in the FL studio demo when I first downloaded it and needed to use 3x osc because I had no other vsts and didn't know sytrus was in FL yet 😅
Riddim ❤️
hell yeah my guy
He played geoxor let’s gooo
Amazing video as always Julian
i love orchestral dubstep :D
Dang I'm disappointed my favorite genre of music hasn't been on any of these, especially since it's following is so massive now
What genre?
Cool vid...but nobody remembers "Purple" as a genre anymore huh 😔 damn i miss that style so fucking much. Joker was an absolute king when it came to Purple dubstep
I am making a video myself of every single EDM subgenre I can name, think it will be 500 actually so could you please give me an example of Purple dubstep
@@n1thmusic229 The first and most recognized example for Purple dubstep would be "Purple city" by Joker also this link ruclips.net/video/jvBECpE8aNg/видео.html is really good if you want more examples for what "Purple" sounds like.
yeah, how tf do you include pseudogenres as "animestep" and blatantly ignore purple sound or wonky, ffs lmao
@@sol5038 These new Dubstep kiddies are probably 14 years old I swear, who listens to half the shit genres in this vid?
These are amazing, short and simple. Do more
00:50 this one is my favorite
2:00 MDK is the king of Wubstep :D
Agree
I mean he invented it and is as far as I know the only one to do wubstep, but yeah it's a bop
@@pamplemoo there's some people who does wubstep too
@@11_tjwho else makes wubstep?
@@JaredtheNacliFan I guess ColBreakz?
0:40 I didn't know Different Heaven can make dubstep like this! Beat dropped harder than my grandma down the stairs.
maybe one day he'd make more T_T
My Heart had a similar sound so it's probably why he was able to make a beat drop so hard
The examples are so GOOD!
Nothing beats real dubstep like the stuff at the start.
i'm a riddim guy myself; but all of the real dubstep shit, the shit born from the streets of london, is unbeaten and still goes so fucking hard. you can't replace the emotion and history worked into that shit
For real bro.fuck riddim. Im a true dubhead
OG dubstep is good but that dubstep boomers... Oh god, they are annoying as hell
@@spillikyn9128 preaching the truth here. Still loads of old skool dubstep fresh off the press. London/Bristol are the places. Leeds too.
Sub Dub is a legendary Leeds night to go to which is still around.l
imo it’s minatory lol
3:30
Old Code: Pandorum
Code is so unrecognized from what ive seen, kinda sad, definitely my favorite
Yooo throwing a vocoder on your bass makes FUTURE RIDDIM lol
actually true
but it still takes efforts
this is really well made man, tnx
1:30 That is my fav song right now how’d ya know
this is probably the most solid video like this i’ve seen
The cool thing about dubstep sub genres is they are all very clearly dubstep
I explore and listen to Dubstep about for more than 8 years but I have never heard few subgenre of Dubstep on this video,it is interesting that how you find out them
@Aqsin Suleymanov rejoice man for finding me again👽
SOO surprised to hear WASTED! featured. I think hes for sure carved his own way in the "cute anime riddim" genre
If the future riddim example had a standard 4 on the floor house beat it’d become a sick uk bass tune
Wow, this is legend vids, you just really know what dubstep is!
epic, this is the best list on the topic so far
So many good artists. AYYY DESMEON ON HERE!
So is Phiso, Kompany, Wooli, HELASEXXXXX!!!, MDK, RIOT, snails, Geoxor, chime & Ace Aura.
Nice stuff! Would like a house or techno video next
WUbstep is fire!
I also like the melodic stuff
YES! YOU KNOW TALURRE (The one who made the Glitchstep in this video)! I’M SO PROUD OF YOU!
Thanks man, but could you tell us what's the songs that you used as example on each genre?
On video, not only description :(
i'm so glad you included Melodic Riddim (AKA Color Bass i think they're the same), and i'm even more glad it was Interdimensional by Chime and Ace Aura
I strongly disagree with some of this, but I still had a blast. Good job sir, some of these will be on my playlist!
pleasant surprise to see Culprate mentioned at least somewhere, dude deserves much more recognition considering his crazy talents and ability to create and mix so many genres, being able to make IDM, EDM and traditional music
also what the difference between this 3:50 and Future Garage?
Most underrated:

i love the sounds of those, that's the kinda shit i listened to after getting out of the skrillex/brostep phase that was everywhere
@@spillikyn9128 Skrillex wasnt the first dubstep producer bruh
@@spillikyn9128 when he started producing dubstep, among others Excision, 12th Planet, FuntCase, Borgore and Flux Pavilion were kings on the dubstep scene. So Skrillex suckz now
Riddim Gang!!!
YES!
Really cool video, i just wish you had used more modern examples, almost all of these songs are old
Riddim for life
damn straight man
Alright, I hope at least half of them don't get the attention of a broader mass. No need to make a new genre for basically every other track haha
Some of them are made up
@@micro6555 all of them were made up at some point, the only difference is how popular the get
@@leonpaul6198 but "animestep" is literally just brostep with anime vocal samples lmao
@@KapsalonGroot exactly
@@KapsalonGroot you're ruining the moment but whatever floats your boat that's on you :/
Next: hardstyle plis
There's not much to hardstyle, it's better off being a gabber subgenres video tbh, since hardcore and hardstyle both came from gabber
1:10 DAMN BOI HE THICC! love wooli😂
Needed this
"Dubstep have many sub genres"
Me: DUBSTEP IS DUBSTEP
All genres have subgenres tho
i just differentiate dubstep (old stuff), brostep, and riddim, because explaining to my friends that i like dubstep (riddim specifically) doesn't help anything. it's like telling someone that you like instrumental music when you actually mean folk.
Yessssir
@@PlutoniumSlums You can make literally every track a new subgenre. I put some metal guitar sounds in a dubstep track - tonk, metalstep. Really? What's the point of doing so? Like 50 subgenre of classic music, 50 subgenre of Reaggae, 50 subgenre of Pop, 50 subgenre of Soul, 50 subgenre of - you name it. Yes you can. But does it make sense?
@@Duke49th yes
this is amazing!
The Kawaii Dubstep one took me out
Lol
U picked some good tracks. kudos to u especially the briddim, tearout, etc., ones
Y no xtruller 4 orchestral dub?
there were just chill sounding dubsteps and then brostep came on and i was like WOAH
tearout and minatory are so harrowing. love them.
I like pretty much all of them. Dubstep is one of my favorite genres of music especially dubchestral, robobstep, melodic, trapstep, and riddim. On a tired day after work some chillstep, liquid dubstep, reggaestep, or the first 3 subgenres. When destroying shit such as demoing a room for remodeling for example or punching a punching bag some tear out, brostep, or minatory. When driving on a morning commute to work some Melodic, Dubchestral, Filthstep, Trapstep or Drumstep fits the bill.
lol ok, let's go to the correction, i will only mention the wrong ones and highlight some.
01 - UK Dubstep
yes, this is UK Dubstep, and it is the main genre.
02 - Substep
no, its not a thing. its just UK Dubstep, its on spectrun.
03 - Post Dubstep
it's a great story, but it can be considered a sub genre.
05 - Drumstep
yes, Drumstep by definition is Brostep with Jump Up DnB, but can use another genre like Darkstep or Hardstep DnB sometimes.
07 - BRiddim
Brostep with sound design by Riddim or Riddim with Drums and Sound Design by Brostep. I didn't consider it, it's Brostep.
11 - Metalstep
yea, its.
12 - "Wubstep"
lol its Complextro.
13 - Trapstep
Hybrid Trap (Festival or Dirty Trap with Brostep). but by Trapstep you can refer to when Brostep predominates, not Trap (Brostep with Trap infulencies
15 - Roobstep
It is not a thing, just Brostep
16 - Vomitstep
it's just Snails Brostep signature.
19 - Wobblestep
just modern UK Dubstep.
20 - Filthstep
its Proto Brostep technically, when Brostep was developing.
23 - Liquid Dubstep
Liquid Dubstep is different from Chillstep, and this is Chillstep too.
26 & 27 - Melodic Riddim and Future Riddim
correct. both are not the same, Melodic Riddim is Riddim with Melodic Dubstep sound design. Future Riddim is Riddim with Future Bass sound design. both use a production Techniue called Color Bass that is not a sub genre, and it can be used in Melodic Dubstep as well.
28 - Futurestep
yes, Future Bass with Melodic Dubstep, better call it Future Melodic Dubstep. gr8 example is Illenium.
29 - Animestep
lol, its just Brostep with anime sapmles
30 - Nightstep
as u mentioned in the description, its not a sub genre. its just Nightcore in Melodic Dubstep.
and you forgot Liquid Drumstep lel, but dope video boi
u forgot some fusion genres like Dubstyle, Cumbiastep, but itsnot necessaruy
Dubstyle is a hardstyle variation with dubstep drums. Dubstyle feels more like hardstyle than dubstep though. Cumbiastep has a mix of reggae and brostep, like Omar Varela.
@@brixxconnor3411 R WHOOOSH I know man lol, after all this do you think i dont know?
and I mentioned "FUSION GENRE"...
cuz as he even quoted Drumstep in the video and thats DnB subgenre, but have Dubstep too
and Cumbiastep is obviously Digital Cumbia with Midtempo Brostep, its not regae lol. but it can also be based on Glitch Hop or Moombahcore
@@juanedm1707 Dude, dubstep has reggae origins, and I'm only elaborating on your idea. I didn't disagree.
@@brixxconnor3411 I know bro, got it but youre talking about Cumbiastep, u didn't say anything about Dubstep's origin lol
I woudnt say that for Vomitstep. Teminite - Energize is vomitstep too. Maybe was he inspired by Snails?
An addition - ThunderStep
