Your whole entire channel is just one big Keeps/Raid/RuneScape ad. Keeps and RuneScape, don't care so much, but Raid is pretty annoying, not to mention your videos are, constantly, without fail, bloated with sponsors.
Idk about WoW, but the Orks examine text might be a reference to Lord of the Rings where Orks were created from Elves.

The sir vivan part reminded me of the old tutorial quest from 2009 "unstable foundations" with the white knight Sir Vant helping you slay a dragon in lumbridge. It would be really cool if you could do a video about the many iterations of tutorial we've had!

It's always cool to see stuff like this. I remember the party room being in Camelot, and where the current party room is was just a mansion (a really cool one at that). Keep up the good work my guy! I've been absolutely loving these nostalgia trips.
I remember when they removed the party room from Camelot too and I figured it was gone for good. Several weeks later I found out it was moved to Falador.
There was a bed upstairs in the mansion that’s now the party room. I would use this on my way to dwarven mine so I wouldn’t have to waste an inventory space on a sleeping bag

For those of you in awe of how rs2 beta looked, trust me, it was just that beautiful and MORE. There are many sprites and textures that were only used in rs2beta, especially in karamja that make osrs and rs3 look like an abused afterthought project.
It was a special time in history.
Seeing this, I really wish I had explored it more. The only memories I have are of the bridge (the awful stone one) sticking out so much in lumbridge.
I was there during the beta. Seeing everything become 3D along with the amazing soundtrack was an unreal experience. I still remember someone finding the first Dragon Spear ever seen, obtained from Shadow Warriors.
I just turned 30 this year. I was a part of the rs2 beta that was offered to members at the time. Loot parties were huge in classic. The reason they made the decision to disable telegrab in the party room is that in classic, telegrab was an instant spell - in other words, there was no projectile so you would basically pick up an item in a single tick. It became a non-issue with the addition of the animation.
Damn the nostalgia I wish OSRS still looked more closely to this

in the RS2 Beta in the character selection you could make your character a 'lesser demon' model by selecting the last clothing options. When you logged out and back in again you would have an old man face model with jagged beard, black torn top and black torn legs. I hope someone finds this in the cache somewhere. I remember running through fally like it when I was a kid.

I was aware this game and other Warcraft games existed. I just thought it was odd timing that they were removed a few months before WoW launched. :)

I dunno if you've heard of it or checked it out, but you should do a vid on Progressive rs2006, it's essentially a server/game emulator that works for every revision from 289-377. It's honestly a massive trip down memory lane and I hope that the beta cache can be implemented into it so it can be played, too. Seeing the beta again after almost 20 years is seriously making me feel nostalgic. Great vid.

I played the beta. When it first released, items were able to be placed onto tables but you couldn't take the item back off the table unless you tele grabbed it. People were literally scamming others using this method LOL. I also remember running around mining and smiting a full set of mithril armour to play around in. Good times.
Aaaah, yes. The Beta. I remember my DUMB ASS trying to pick up a stick on the ground for an hour because i didn't have a weapon and wasn't used to ground clutter in the game. I thought i'd put that behind me forever - thanks for bringing it up again.
Before they graphically updated barbarian village in 2005 there was a brick on the ground I tried to pick up for 20-30 minutes.
I'm so glad I wasn't the only dumbass who did this.
I got to play the beta back in the day. I remember training hard, getting 30 attack and 20 defense and managed to save for full mith and an addy scimmy and people were asking me how I got it. There were some players that managed to get up to rune during this period as well.
I like that the old Orc examine text refers to Tolkien's the Silmarillion's origin of Orcs.

I was 11 when the Beta came out, played it quite a bit, there was no modivation to play it for a extended period of time because all progress would be lost when it went live.

I played this. I spent the whole time mining coal in the mining guild, I was the only one there, there was no point in being there because I wouldn’t be keeping any of the coal when the beta ended
But since I spent all my RSC time doing exactly that I didn’t know what else to do in the beta
I kinda wish the beds were still used for something. Like restoring run energy and health or something
I remember as a kid loading up the rs2 screen for the first time and being super giddy, it was an amazing game at the time. I have some funny screenshots of early bugs like planting mithril seeds in the bank to get behind the to the teller
I was in the Beta. I was F2P and I still remember being disappointed that bats didn't drop member's objects in the final release (bat bones), or that you couldn't collect member's objects in the swamp anymore. (Swamp tar)
Drop parties used to take place in Seers back in RSC. I miss those parties.
Having played the beta as a 12 yr old, it was a pretty magical time, but I took a break from RuneScape after the beta ended because I had gotten so much done during the beta and I didn't want to do it all over again

My older brother played the beta and always told me how fun it was and of course….Very glitchy. Then I started to play when the beta finished.
Would have been nice to have a rainbow wieldable spice item from the pride event, could have even had an animation option to pour out rainbows or rainbow sprinkles!

I am too haha. Now that OSRS has an HD client, I hope we one day see a version that changes all the models to their older versions :)

I remember playing in the beta at the library when I was like 12 years old. You would start in the barbarian village if I remember correctly with a wooden shield a sword and a med helm. And it didn't save anything you did after you logged out.
I feel like I have a hazy memory in the back of my skull of a lot of this stuff... I must have played this when I was young

I still play a copy of 2006 offline runescape back before cows/imps/ etc were updated including the ditch at Port sarem, it also has hu dress of interactive chat and quest bots to make it feel alive

People say rs in 2006-2007 was prime time. For me it was 2004 when i started. Everything was new and i really was out in a land i didnt know what to do, and everyone was exploring the game. I had 2 santa hats and a blue hween mask. I still remember buying my first steel scimitar for 500coins at the farmer under falador. Never been so happy! Wish i kept the screenshots. I still have a hardwaredrive i think from when pestcontrol was released the first months

Is that true? That less than a few thousand of us played the RS2 beta? The beta was so fun that I completely quit playing the main game until the full switchover. It was an incredible shift trying to get through my dumb kid brain that everything I thought I knew about combat had just changed.

a friend of mine was on that beta it sounded so bizarre on how there was weapon speeds and slash and stab defence and all sorts of of changes from classic

The beta was so god damn fun. The fact less than a few thousand people played it is mind blowing, but makes sense with how empty worlds had been.

Omg I remember playing the RuneScape 2 Beta! There was a duplicating glitch for dragon medium helms. I had so many of them from the party room in seers village! Good time.
i still use an account that i played the beta on, i only played it for 2 days to try out the new runecrafting skill. but my account is sitting around 7000 days old so ive seen most of this but its nice to have a little nostalgia
I actually probably have an old cache on the PC in my cupboard. It's been sat in there for easily over 15 years because when I upgraded I couldn't get the HDD out, I've been hanging on to it to find a solution (other than drilling out the stuck screw). It was actually my first PC as a kid and a hell of a machine for it's time, it probably even has an old as hell version of World of Warcraft on it as well as many other things lol.
I remember the sleeping bag...god that was horrific. It's just as bad as it looks and sounds.

Beta was crazy but im glad i got to try it because you had a small window to transfer from rsc to rs2. So being able to try it before the move was great. It was awesome geting knees.
I got to play the beta! You had to have membership but my buddy let me log into his account to try it out. Was so awesome

Started playing in 06, and still have that account today for both rs3 and osrs. Around the time they added diaries, I made a new account cause I wanted to just do the early game stuff again, and was thrown off when the start was not tutorial island, but you helping someone with a dragon in their basement
I also remember orcs from a private server i played when most private servers were ran on mopar
Warcraft 1,2, and 3 had been around before RuneScape.
Also the idea of Orcs being disfigured and aggressive elves is actually from Elder Scrolls and other older fantasy novels
Tolkien and lord of the rings and the hobbit did orcs first. They were supposed to be descendants of elves that turned to the dark side.

Orcs straight up didn't exist period before Tolkien - he made them up. I don't mean just in the state of disfigured elves, I mean they didn't exist at all. Orcs are Tolkien's creation.
The rs2 beta came out about a month after I started playing rs. I was addicted to it. I kept playing and getting reset constantly with each update and as a 12 year old I just kept wondering why

I played the beta, and the initial combat level adjustment had me playing it all the time. The only thing was, I had no idea that any progress I made wasn't permanent. My pre-teen self was so disappointed when rs2 was finally launched. :(
Runescape might have had orcs before World of Warcraft, but Warcraft (the game which WoW is based on) had orcs before both.

Damn I kindof 100% forgot the party room was in Seers. I started in 05, have the chicken and yo-yo classic cape, etc, but this was one thing I 100% forgot about. I sort of remember them turning that into the court room or whatever it was.
Does anyone remember that npc named maxed with maxed out stuff over by varrock museum
Can't really replicate it and only someone else that I remembered from F2P at the time would remember but when accounts got migrated into the Beta, at least during the few weeks for F2P, items in your inventory would equip without levels. I remember having a rune pick equipped without having the attack level. The other guy I ran across that did this put rune on a level 3 and was pking in low level varrock wildy with rune on, at level 3. Pretty sweet time.
Castle wars is still an empty field.
Runescape prepared us for web3 and NFTs. We know what to do. Ty RS2!
Warcraft was around years before this and the early orcs look very similar, so they may have feared a fight with Blizzard.
EDIT: Just to clarify, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans released in 1994 and the orcs had the same red color scheme clothing.

@@tehmodestmouse6275 yes, but World of Warcraft is based on Warcraft: Orcs and Humans from 1994 and also made by Blizzard. The orcs from World of Warcraft came from the Warcraft games. So Blizzard still made them in 1994 and still would have tried to sue.
@@tehmodestmouse6275 it seems like you did not know, so to explain a bit further, Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 are strategy games that Blizzard made between 1994 and 2003. World of Warcraft is an MMO that they made based on the same lore from the 3 Warcraft games. World of Warcraft starts about 4 years after Warcraft III - The Frozen Throne ended.
