Late fall crappie on Lake Degray - what's your goal?

- Another afternoon trip to Lake Degray. We are short on supplies and we are short on time. We have been off for a long time and we were almost out of fish to eat. Winter is the perfect time to go catch some. Not only because the traffic is low but the fish taste so much better too and are easy to catch. Deep timber is really productive. If your goal is to get some fish to eat and even have a little extra to share with friends and family then find fish balled up on a stick of timber around 25' from surface. Catch 3-5 and go to next stick. In 3-4 hours you will have enough to eat and possibly even enough to share.

Nice videos!
Glad you like them. Thanks for watching
Was you using forward mode on the stick -ups . Thanks great video glad to see ya back !
Yes. I haven't ever used down view. I like to keep my target 15' - 30' in front of me. It seems to me when I get within 10-15' they bug out or come right to me to wink at me 😁. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Just found your videos a couple weeks ago and enjoy the content. I noticed that you don’t use a transducer pole which I have been for the last three years but now for a few reasons I’m thinking of moving it to the trolling motor. Would you consider doing a video on boat control tips showing how to stay on the structure and fish and still be able to see what your bait is doing. Thanks and tight lines. P. S . Do this on a day when the wind is blowing at least 8 mph or better.
I'm glad you found the channel. I appreciate you watching! Next time I'm out on a pretty windy day, I will try my best to get something on there. For now though, my primary tip would be to put your nose in the wind. When it's really windy, you will not always be able to keep your bait in the picture. You have to sometimes go old school in combination with using the glimpses you have of your bait just make educated guesses as to where you're at in the water. It also helps to use just enough power to keep you barely moving toward your target. This will allow you to keep in the picture at longer intervals. A strong trolling motor plays a huge roll in this too. One that will keep you from loosing ground. It will take a lot of practice...especially if you are used to the pole setup. I've been using the trolling motor method since the original panoptics first came out. I have tried using a pole and I find myself frustrated for not being able to do it with my hands. This goes without saying though...when it's super windy, everyone's accuracy is going to suffer some. I don't care who you are. I hope this helps some for now.
@@paperlipmafia thanks for the reply
