Sometimes we sit in front of a Peak rotary vice and tie jigs and talk crappie. Most of the time, we are on the front deck of my Xpress x21 pro with our face stuck in a livescope catching crappie. I contribute to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's (agfc) weekly fishing report for Degray and a few surrounding lakes while visiting. I generally provide a visual representation of my weekly fishing report here. I try to show the bait I'm using along with the technique. The channel's goal is to show what I'm doing to catch crappie and to help you catch fish. Another winter crappie hunt on Lake Look and See
It's new years day and we are back on one of Arkansas's Tri Lakes. I'm generally pretty good about telling which lake we are on but this is a small lake and out of respect for the folks that live here, I'm not going to be calling any names today. This is a well known lake and if you have already fished this lake...well then you already know.
There were a lot of boats fishing a particular location. We decided to move away from the crowd and go up lake a little. They weren't jumping in the boat but there were enough targets to make for a good basket. Fish were really spooked. I could only imagine how spooked they would have been around a lot of other boats.

A few passes with the instructor. He comes back to the hanger and lets the instructor out. We move from hanger area to the main airport to get a better view. After that we are escorted closer to runway for even a better view. Very proud of Bradley. He will be graduating high school this year and is well on his way to being a pilot.
Craftsman 26HP 54" Mower - Carburetor cleaning using Sea Foam Upper Engine Cleaner

Mower wouldn't stay running. Would start and then die after a few seconds. Time to clean the carburetor. I was out of carb cleaner and had a can of Sea Foam Upper Engine Cleaner laying around that I have never used. It worked pretty good although it wasn't intended for this exact usage. I was up in a creek mouth during presidents day on Degray. It was rainy. Ended up firing up my corona cough...probably should have stayed home. Still ended up with a good batch of crappie, even having to wade through all of the hybrids. Fish were everywhere you looked in 20' of water and less. It was a fun trip. Hope you enjoy. This video captures the tie process that I use, especially finishing. I hope that it helps someone just beginning. There are certainly more advanced ways of tying but personally, I like to keep things simple. I hope it helps at least one person.

What's your rod and reel setup for throwing those small jigs. I'm about to go to bass pro and pick up my live scope setup this week and looking forward to trying something new even though we eat more than our fare share of crappie.
Hey, I normally use a 7' 6" ACC crappie stix with Pflueger presidential. I use 4 or 6 lb max. I like them because they are easy on the pocket book and last decent enough

I never paint any eyes on my jigs anymore, I done a experiment on it shooting docks 10 years and they didn’t care if it had eyes painted on them, as long as you had the right color.😊

I live in Indiana, but I have family that lives in Daisy. I use to go to Daisy (lake Greeson) when I was a kid every spring break with my uncles crappie fishing. I will be down there the first week of April and hope the crappie are biting.

what unit are you using? we are about to pull the trigger on one.
I'm using the gpsmap 1242xsv. I started with a 9". When I went to a 12" it really helped me a lot to see.
