Awesome review! Cooler Master should have sent you a case for review before they finalised the design so they can iron out the kinks before shipping the final product.
My version is a push-pull configuration of two pentawave pf-p12 fans on the radiator (3000 lower+ 2400 upper), to do this possible i had to reprint a grill with CF PETG, but now cooling system looks and works perfectly 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The top radiator should have been a 140 mm model instead of 120 mm, like the one in the NZXT H1 case. Would this be possible with the case in its widened mode? Perhaps as a mod? Perhaps a future revision?
thanks for the review and i apologize for this long comment. I found it odd that CM quietly released this without much hype and waited 2+ weeks after launch to let yters review. I purchased this but ended up actually returning it. The thing I most liked about this case was the cables from the PSU, i don't understand why more SFX psu's don't provide nicer cables like the ones that come with this unit even a larger cost. I thought the mounting hardware for the pump block felt a bit cheap, compared to my EK AIO's mounting hardware. Aside from that my main reason for returning it was that the fact that i was not able to mount my nvme that comes w/ a heatsink in the back of my mobo. I'm using the z790-i it has 3 m2 slots, i have two drives. My m2.1 slot is my main "C" drive, while my m2.3 slot has all my work/games. There is a piece of metal in the case where you route the gpu pcie cable through that impedes anything aside from a non heatsink nvme or just one with a thermal pad to be mounted in the back, at least for this mobo. The issue with the z790i is that the m2.2 slot runs hot. When i swapped the drives around the c drive was running at 60c in the m.2.2 slot, and at 50-54c in the m2.3 slot with a heat pad only 1/2 being flush to the metal piece on the case. Usually they run around mid 40cs. With this set up i was getting some funky lagging on my mouse and keyboard. Not really sure what the issue was even when i ran the single C drive in the m2.1 slot and after re-connecting everything I was getting some weird noticeable lag. As for temps on my 13700k, i gave away my gpu so no gpu. I used it for 2 days and after working 9 hrs with programs like VS studio, VS code, thinkorswim, sql management studio, 20 google tabs opened, etc the CPU temps according to hwmonitor averaged in the mid 30s hit as high as the mid 60s. So i thought for me those were great temps. I did swap out the top fan for a noctua nf a12 and the side fan for a lian li p28. I wanted to use 2 p28s but the top fan area was not wide enough so the p28 would not go into the fan slot. it did look like a 30mm fan would work if it was no wider than a standard 25mm fan. I also have an aftermarket cpu bracket and used thermal grizzly paste so im sure that helped with the temps. Nice looking case, larger than i thought. Ended up returning it.
I can't tell if the Ncore 100 MAX can fit a mini DTX motherboard. Kinda cool it can fit the ROG Strix. I saw another review, where they put in the Aorus Master which is even bigger!
Awesome case, i wish it could hold a bigger radiator, love that it fits the massive Strix GPU, something I'm very disappointed about the 2000D is it's lack of GPU support for really thicc boi cards and while still being a large ITX case.
Been looking to move to sff from a 5000D and 360mm AIO. This case looks nice and can fit my rx 6800 thats 324mm x 141mm x 55mm long. I could probably get my 5800X3D to run without issues on the 120mm aio in this case, although im still skepticle with it still being a 120mm aio. I still would prefer the just the case to be sold but thats just me. Even though its on massive side for SFF I might end up buying a Corsair 2000D so I get to keep my 360mm aio. Or maybe ill just have to find a waterblock and go some other route. Nonetheless, great review on the ncore 100 max.
My favorite movie is The Fifth Element.... I'd love to see a reprint of the 4 stones into this case panels.... Looks very cool but 120MM rad is a concern seeing 7800X3D at 88c. They do boost constantly to that range thought. I figure that 120MM thiccc rad will get clogged quickly and lose efficiency in a matter of weeks and require a lot of maintenance. I have a none OC 4090 450W variety and power rail regularly shows 525W draw in HWinfo64. I run Revolt SFX 850 Platinum with 600W 12VHPR cable...
I will test it out at some point. The AIO would definitely work better, at the expense of the gpu but it’s probably worth it since a 120 is so stretched as-is. PSU exhausts out the top- straight into the rad, so that doesn’t help.
I got that case, first thing I did was switch both fans for noctua ones. Unfortunately the PSU fan is an always-on which is a bummer as the noise would be even lower if it had a zero rpm feature. Besides that I can silently cool my 5900x without any undervolt with the fan replacement for the noctua ones, in idle I can get 44ºC and max 79ºC CPU. GPU 75ºC I have a MSI RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio
@@cmochi6999 yes, but you'll lose warranty and also have to buy an adapter from 4pin to 2pin I solved it by buying a SF750 for a while but then I eventually sold the entire case.
Argh - Cooler Master! Come on! You've attracted a LOT of enthusiasts with your latest SFF offerings. Please stop bundling PSU's etc in to your cases bumping up the price. Provide standalone editions too. P.S, more 'boops' please
This still comes with the cooler master PSU that has the fan ramp problem. (Yes even though its the updated ATX 3.0). I bought one of these separately thinking that CM had resolved the issue, however it persists and is extremely loud. Quite disappointing and immediately returned it for a corsair SF750.
@@MachinesMore Perhaps? It's possible I just got a defective unit, but I also noticed similar complaints on reddit. When the fan turns on, it stays on at what seems like max speed and is noisy. I think you made a video on it previously for the original sfx gold 850w (non ATX 3.0), but CM eventually revised that model and fixed the fan curve which you also made a video on. This new SFX gold 850w appears to have the issue of the original product.
Given the small footprint, it’s already a bit dicey for balance, it’s really that and the extreme height that is the issue. The PSU and rad, while not inherently heavy, do add to the tipsy nature of this ensemble- this really should not go near the edge of a desk!
@@MachinesMore that's what i was afraid of. it's a gorgeous case, and i'd love to have it on my desk, but i have cats, so i guess i'll stick with my meshlicious for now. thanks!
I agree wholeheartedly and also they should stop with cases that are so limiting in cooling capacity because limiting cooling capacity also mean limited selection of CPU's you can buy
Sorry but if you got the case for free the review can't be considered independent. So many content producers get away with writing off getting product as free being not sponsored. Unless you put your own cash on it it can't be considered such.
While I agree that conflicts of interest in the online review space are rampant, review samples are a legitimate means of acquiring products for review. I’m glad that he at least disclosed how the case was acquired, that is the minimum. Credibility, ethics, and review tone should absolutely be taken into account when making judgments about how much a review/er should be trusted. Personally speaking, I rarely take reviews of anything at face value other than from outlets that have a long history of thorough, ethical, and objective testing.

Put a 7800X3D and 7900 XTX in this case with 6TB of NVME storage. I love it. CoolerMaster knocked it out of the park.

Curious how the aio works with the fan as intake, and how much the GPU is impacted. Also, is the PSU exhausting out the back or the top?
