- MEET BONES! The newest little member of our family :) We adopted him from the Denton Animal Shelter last week and are already so in love with him. We hope you enjoy meeting him and following along on our latest dive - it's crazy that we ended up finding some cat items!

In England animal shelters find it harder to find homes for black cats as they are less popular, so I always adopt a black one and both my vet and I believe they are even more affectionate than other cats - they are the best!

I was thinking the same thing...the are out and about a lot as most young people and he needs someone to play with...older cats are more adjusted to being alone but Bones looks young under a year for sure. Lots of spunk to burn off.

I disagree, my sisters told me the same thing and my first cat has never liked the 2nd cat.

Yes, those “catios” people build for their cats to safely go outside are great, all enclosed and still lets them get some fresh air and sunshine😊
@@gayle8153 Yes exactly, they can have fresh air, play space and are still safe from other animals and cars. And when you are outside your cat can still join you.

Bone's is one lucky cat to have you as parents. Congratulations. Now that you put finding things for Bones into the universe - I bet you will find him all kinds of fun things. He might use your new wicker chair as a scratching post. I have 4 cats.
The Universe approves of Bones with all the cat goodies you found! Please don't let him roam outside, we care for feral and dumped cats and it is heartbreaking. Happy for all three of you!
I also feed a small fixed colony. I'm always worried for them though they are in a relatively safe place.

Congratulations! I'm so glad you adopted Bones from a shelter. If he isn't already neutered, please do so. He will be much healthier and it will prevent any accidental litters as well as preventing him from spraying in the house.. He's a handsome boy! Give him lots of love.
The hard shell carrier is useful cuz of the sturdy bottom. We add a pillow or folded towel to the bottom for comfort. I liked the harder one for our senior fur baby.
I like the hard carriers because it's easier to clean kitty accidents.
Bones is so handsome! I love his copper eyes and sweet meow. Male kitties are the sweetest. They are super chill and lovey. Congratulations!❤

Congratulations on adopting Bones! He is adorable! I love all animals and have been a cat rescuer. I have family members and friends who say that they want to come back as my pet! My last 4 cats (all special needs) lived to be 14, 16, 17 and 19. Be careful if you bring stuff home for him. If there is a scent, he may want to mark it. I also have promised that I will always have at least 2 because if you are out a lot, they have company. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

The litter box smell has alot to do with the kind of litter you choose not the kinda litter box! We have 3 indoor cats and over 20 outdoor cats that people just dumped in our neighborhood and we started feeding them and every winter we build the a winter house on our porch! As long as Bones gets fixed you want have to worry about him marking his spot or your house(bed, furniture etc....) He a beautiful cat! Goodluck being new cat parents, love your Video's ❤
Yes! Getting him fixed early is the best. Before he learns to spray. My boys continued to do it. Also, litter boxes without lids are best due to inhaling the dust causes lung issues. I too am a rescue mom. I'm bombarded inside and out. Bless you for caring for all of yours.
Yes I love Bones. Just be careful about him getting out when you open the doors. He is much too young to be wandering the streets alone😊 Thank you both for adopting Bones. For sure Pilgrim is jumping around at the Rainbow Bridge and barking to see a kitty in his home with his 2 favorite ppl❤ Thanks for sharing him also with us❤ You will enjoy every minute with Bones. We adopted a cat that was named Bones. We thought it was a strange name but we kept his name. The first time we heard him meow, it sounded like he was saying Bones! We laughed so hard and knew then how he got his name. My kids were tickled that he was saying Bones. Love your new addition. He is adorable.

So happy for you! I've been cat mad all my life, and while cats are very different to dogs, they give you just the same love and loyalty......and every black cat I ever owned was particularly affectionate!

I love bones!!! I myself have five cats all rescues. One of them is all black like Bones, he is the most affectionate cat I have ever ever had. Cats are the best. When they sit on your chest and purr or your lap, that frequency is actually proven to be a healing frequency- so essentially they are trying to heal you ❤

Very true. A cat is never safe outside. It's a proven fact that cats lives are shortened outside because of all the dangers.

They have shown the inside of their home. Kitchen & living area & their bedroom. They also have done lots of work last year on their back yard..

I am 68 and have had cats in my life since the age of 4 when my Mom gave me a kitten for my 4th birthday! I now have a black and white cat with black spots looking like that seen on Holstein cows! Her name is Cookie. My other cat has 3 colors on her! Black, white, and a golden orange color! She is Calico! Her name is Cal E They are sisters! I am a cat lover! One time I had 14 cats in my apartment for many yrs. back!

Yes, you can re-freeze the ice packs you found. Since they were in a box they probably haven't been thrown around or crushed but, check for leaks anyway. I use them in the ice chest and they have been a life saver for keeping things cold in the frig and freezer a bit longer when the electricity has gone out!
P.S Bones is adorable!
At this age, it’s a great time to get them, used to taking baths and taking them with you in the car because once they get older, they freak out . 💚🦋

Aw, little Bones! Congrats new cat parents! You can refreeze or refrigerate the ice packs. They can be used by local sports teams (I've donated ones I had to the high school near me). Re: litter boxes for cats, any shallow tub will work and clumping litter is best. I like the scented ones (they also have lightweight litter). I remove the clumps/poops in the morning and before bedtime, which keeps it from smelling. If it starts to smell, add a little baking soda. I use any plastic bags from empty veggie or bread packs to keep the clumps/poops (instead of dumping them into your kitchen trash can - it can get heavy) - then drop the full bags into the large trash can outside. Bones will probably use the chair as a scratching post and he might love the fuzzy pig basket! Love you guys! You're so sweet!
Exactly. Clumping high quality cat litter is the best for keeping smell away. Type of litter box less significant. As well as cleaning the box twice a day I also recommend washing the box thoroughly every couple of weeks. Having more litter boxes than cats is good too, I have two cats and four boxes.

When they are tiny litter box with out a top is less intimidating to them. But litter is more important than the box. I love the multi cat clumping cat litter. It’s less smelly and way easier to keep clean. And if you are able kittys really like having a buddy to play with. If they have a sibling that’s best buy around the same age is great. They like to snuggle and are much less clingy if they have a buddy.

The ice packs can be used multiple times from my experience with them. They are great in coolers and to use if you have a bump or swelling.
Black Cats 🐈⬛ are the absolute epitome of a purrrrfect pet! Congratulations on finding your beautiful 🐈⬛ Bones! Also… the dumpsters seems to know exactly what you need! That is so cool!
How wonderful! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't let him outside! Make him a cat cage outside (my husband made a great one if you want a picture, let me know). I lost 4 cats outside before I finally got some sense and they are now 8 years old! I also agree, 2 cats are MUCH easier than 1 and you will get double the love!!!
Yes! Definitely no outside for cats!! They are just as happy and a heck of a lot safer inside!!

Welcome Bones!! Cats are wonderful pets. I have had cats all my life and have always enjoyed their company. One thing to consider is that they are very social animals and enjoy having a friend. Two cats will keep each other company, clean each other,, play together and curl up together. Having a playmate will keep Bones from getting bored and out of trouble. Well, mostly out of trouble. :)

Also make sure you disinfect all your cat items carefully before giving them to Bones. I am also begging you to please do not allow him to be an outside cat because people are especially cruel to black cats. They are to cats in general but particularly black ones 😢

Love the brown chair, and i have repaired a similar one. Just ordered Wicker Replacement Kit. 120 ft in brown is only $8.99! Bones is so cute! Our cat Meg lived till she was 21, and she was so awesome! we made little balls from tinfoil and she'd chase them and play fetch! Enjoy!

I completely second that. I won't have plants in my house because of that and yes, definitely don't buy any pet related item from ANY dollar store. They're poor quality and from China. Feed him a good decent kitten food.
Rescue animals are the best. They know they have been saved and are extra loving. My own cat was, enjoy your lives together Bones is beautiful.

You could drape a blanket over the chair. You have an adorable cat ❤
As I type, my cat, Tater, is on my lap. Cats are great companions. One thing about the litter box, all cats are different, of course, but I have found mine didn't like a cover over their box. Also, I my Tater has an "elevator butt". When she does her business, she starts off squatting, then raises higher as she goes. I found a tote that had higher walls worked best for her. Cheaper than a litter box, too. Best of luck with Bones, he's adorable!
