I just got these yesterday, part number AD7318B, and they Do NOT have the Gold Clean Coat on them. I called 4 stores and they checked their stock of this part, and none of them had the gold coating. Just the ceramic pad. I guess since these are Made in China the quality in production went down
My truck pads were getting almost to the point of must replace. Didn’t squeal or anything like that, but we’re starting to make a lot of brake dust. So I go to Napa and ask for the premium top-of-the-line brake pads for my truck, since they do not sell AC Delco pads. NAPA hands me the adaptive one brake pads. I put them on my truck and I have never heard so much squealing in all my life! These pads are absolute garbage! I changed all the hardware that came with the brake kit and still squeals when you barely apply the brakes. Absolutely embarrassing! This is the second time in a row Napa has handed me garbage brakes. Last time I had to go back and get different pads because the ones they gave me were noisy. Looks like I’m going to have to change the brakes again on this truck, just like last time I’m done with Napa.
Agreed. Just put these on and they are garbage. Squeaking like crazy. I usually buy premium ceramic pads from Advance Auto Parts, got these because I was in a hurry and NAPA was close by. Big mistake. This is going to make a lot more work for me. I notice their website does not allow for customer reviews. I guess I know why.
I’m leaving them on for a few days of driving for a fair test. Maybe they need to “seat” with the rotors or something. If they don’t shut up soon they are going back.
@@ken12269 mine did burnish in after about two weeks of heavy braking from being so mad that my new truck and brakes sounded like like something Fred Sanford wouldn’t drive! But now, my front wheels are covered in heavy brake dust after two trips, to and from work. Guess I’m back to AC DELCO PARTS ONLY.
I am back to confirm that I had a bad experience with these brake pads. I’ve done many brake jobs on many different vehicles over the years, always using ceramic pads to minimize noise. I have always had good results. This is my first time using any pads from NAPA - described as “top of the line” ceramic pads. These squealed like mad from day one. After giving them a good test over about 100 miles, still squeaking and a ton of brake dust. To be clear these are on brand new rotors. Took them off, put on another brand of ceramic pads…problem solved. The NAPA pads are going back. I do not have any affiliation with NAPA or AAP; just an honest consumer giving an honest review, and hoping to save another person the trouble. If NAPA had reviews on their website, they do not, so I am saying it here. UPDATE: NAPA did take them back, no problem, bu the guy was surprised, he said he uses these all the time. Who knows, maybe I got a bad batch. What I DO know is that different ceramic pads from a competing store worked great with no squeaking.

The gold "clean coat" is just a paint. It wears right off.
What's the return policy?
Why are my pads squealing? The salesman in the store told me to upgrade to these pads in order to avoid squealing. Now I have squealing...
