I want to say that this is one of the best reviews of this camera that I have seen! I have ordered this camera and it will be here tomorrow. Thanks for a great review.
Great review. I will use this camera mainly for snorkelling and swimming, so the mic and sound are not really important for me. I am really looking forward to use this camera and take photos and videos of the ocean and its inhabitants.
Sounds like a great way to use this camera. Even though that camera claims to be waterproof, I recommend you use the waterproof housing just as an added safety measure. I actually had one of those cameras leak on me. The little doors on the camera have to be closed tightly. The camera itself is great in the rain, snow, boat splashes, but to be safe, use the included housing when submerging underwater.
11:44 If the audio in the small camera was as good as with a microphone that's twice as large as the whole camera that would defy the laws of physics, so although the audio on the camera is worse than with the microphone that camera still seems pretty fine to me
Hey there Yukterez...not really sure what you are talking about when you are referring to the 'law of physics" with sound recording, but let me just say that most of these low budget action cameras that do not have a microphone input jack do a very, very poor job at recording good audio, and unfortunately the Wolfang GA400 is no exception. So, the best way to get good audio is with some sort of external audio recorder and record 'double system sound' which you can then synchronize in post production during the editing process. This is the same technique employed in big budget, Hollywood productions.
I see from this review the camera produces pixelated images and noisy images. It is too late to improve this video review but be aware that the images maybe subpar when the lighting is low or under cloudy outdoor conditions.
Thanks a lot for the review. It fills gaps in user manual which is very superficial. Still I don't know how to hook up the camera with Wi-Fi but it is not that important for me. Take care.
Yes you can, however you'll have to power the camera from an external source such as a power bank, as the internal battery will only last about 2 1/2 hours. Also there is no 0.5 sec option, the lowest is one frame every 1 second.
Hello. Thanks to tour review i bought a camera like this. Outdoors is cool. Indoors is killing me. How can i set it so indoors to be clear as an iphone. What should i do? At the same settings indoors the filming is bad. I have wolfang ga420
Well it is an action camera, which is usually used outdoors. Unfortunately most of these lower priced action cameras do not perform very well in indoor, low light conditions.
I'm not actually using a "wireless microphone" , since this camera does NOT have a microphone input jack. What I am using is a separate "Digital Audio Recorder", specifically a ZOOM H1. I record the audio onto the digital audio recorder then when I edit my video I add this high quality audio to my video as explained in this how-to video: ruclips.net/video/sw914bw_pGw/видео.html This digital recorder is available from Amazon: amzn.to/3Oshx2a Hope that helps.
Yes, there are a lot of these ‘similar’ Chinese action cameras out there. I think one manufacturer supplies to different companies that re-brand them as their own.
I got a 200 and thought I'd add a wireless mic to circumvent the audio issues. Nope, I cannot find a WM with usb micro anywhere so bought some Usb C-Micro adaptors, none of which work so I'm resigned to having to find a wired mic, which I think sucks when we save and spend for things and they don't live up to expectations standing alone. 😂😢
If you are considering this camera, keep in mind that it does NOT have a microphone input jack. You have to step up to the Wolfang GA420 to get that feature.
@@TheOneCanoe Yes, I just mentioned it for anyone else in my shoes to hopefully prevent them making my mistake lol. But in my circumstances I have to put up with what I have, I can't justify a second camera, or even a newer phone that can use the mike I have :-)
Both cameras shoot the same quality video and photos, both are waterproof without a housing, but the main difference is that the GA420 has dual view screens and it will allow you to plug in an external microphone allowing you to record much better audio.
@@TheOneCanoe Thank you for your response :D . I doubt between Wolfgang ga420 and AKASO Brave 7le or Akaso v50x. Do you have experience with this Akaso's ?
@Brandon Mena I decided to buy the dji osmo action 3. Because there are not much video's with comparisons of the wolfgang ga 420. That makes it not interesting enough to buy for me. So I decided to spend a bit more money for better quality. And there are lots of videos.
No, this camera does not work with an external mic. However, the next camera up in the Wolfang lineup does...it's the model GA420. Here is my review on that one: ruclips.net/video/uNkCcDw4jbA/видео.html
@@comfortableshoesstudio unfortunately it did not work with external microphones in my testing and there is nothing in the owners manual to indicate that it is comparable with external mic’s.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope you enjoy your new action camera.

What app do you use to produce your videos?
I edit my videos on a desktop computer using Magix Vegas Pro.
Does it support an external microphone?
No, this camera has no external microphone support. You have to move up to the GA420 model for external microphone use.

How do you update the firmware? It doesn't work in the app.
Dude, your HD reviews for 4k cameras are useless. No offense!
No offence taken, , but considering that 90% of the review is shot @1080, it makes perfect sense to render and upload in HD.
