I don’t have a history with Portal… But it DOES involve an AI that masters psychological torture… However, a human’s personality uploaded to an AI… Metal Gear Solid 4 mentions a specific character that, in between the events of the Cold War and Liquid’s Insurrection, left his entire legacy of maintaining world balance into an AI network that, little to even his knowledge of the reality he created, led to the rise of the war economy and the implementation of nanotechnology in soldiers worldwide that backfires when the enemy steals the keys. That led to overconfidence and massacre… Crysis 2 had a similar theme, but it revolves around a conspiracy that was planned for a century. Keeping the Ceph’s existence in the dark, let the world suffer, and unleash the most powerful weapon built by man. More of it is carried over to the events of Crysis 3. (Which, time gap or not, still left me more questions than answers…) Underground cities living lies… The Octolings in the Splatoon series can relate to that…
