Stoneshard is a challenging and unforgiving game that lacks hand-holding and quality of life features. However, once you learn the ropes, it becomes incredibly enjoyable. I highly recommend it if you want a good challenge.

I can personally vouch for Green Project. It's one of my favorite games. I'd also mention Keplerth, and Starbound. I will have to check out lona. It looks cool.
I don't think it's good to avoid telling people the obvious thing about this game. Like, constently getting raped or sold as a slave. People need to know these things before playing a game.
Night Raider is alot like Zero Sievert. its preety cool. I enjoy and stick around for games with good skill and gear progression. i think both these games do a good job in this respect. Also its $6 !!!

"The Last Station" is a good game, but the story leaves you hanging without actually explaining anything, and the very ending was extremely unsatisfying. It could have been a great game, but it tripped at the finish line.

The footage I saw here didn't look too interesting to me, nevertheless, but that bit at the end about it "not being on Steam because of the themes", and the fact people won't shut up about it in the comments tells me there must be something... not quite ordinary about it. Now my interest has been picked. ;)
