- Belarus’s Ivan Litvinovich left the best for last to win gold on the final routine of the men’s trampoline gymnastics at Tokyo 2020. The 20-year-old wept when his score of 61.715 was revealed by the judges at the end of the event at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre.
All eyes had been on the People’s Republic of China’s DONG Dong who had topped the leaderboard on 61.235 before Litvinovich stepped up to take his turn. The Belarus athlete held his nerve to pull off an outstanding routine of multiple somersaults and spins, soaring 10 metres into the air, to claim the title. It was Belarus' first medal of Tokyo 2020.
Dong’s silver medal still cements his place in history as the first trampoline gymnast to win four medals in four Olympic Games. The 32-year-old, who has confirmed Tokyo 2020 will be his last Games, won gold at London 2012, silver in Rio 2016 and a bronze for the host country at Beijing 2008. As a 12-times world champion and two-times world games, he is also the most decorated trampoline gymnast in the history of the sport.
The gold medal win meant New Zealand’s Dylan Schmidt, 24, moved into bronze on 60.675 while defending Rio 2016 Olympic champion, Uladzislau Hancharou, and Litvinovich's Belarus teammate, had to settle for fourth.

Dong Dong has been a staple my entire life in following gymnastics. He got so close, but retiring after over a decade career with 3 Olympics appearances with a Silver is nothing to feel the least bit sore about.
What a save,Ivan👌hat's off.
He deserved the gold truely❤️
Thank you for posting full length replays. Really helps with all the boring days in the week.
Thanks you ! Men’s ring final please !
Long live Dong Dong
The sportsmanship between the athletes is what speaks the loudest. Fantastic job by all of them.
Wow, really beautiful form!
The commentators are wrong with their expectation of the Ivan's score and I give them 5 stars for admitting their mistake.
Belarus 🇧🇾 has another gold medal 🏅 🥇 in Men's Trampoline.

Dong Dong 4 position,
Dominic’s routine was actually pretty amazing until he got caught off guard. He didn’t travel that much and he kept his flight. I bet if he had finished that routine that he would’ve gotten a medal.
I bet i could do this (I do GCSE pe)
They really saved the best for last. Dong celebrated too early.
IS CHINA!!!! NOT KOREA!

I can't believe this is an Olympic sport...
My top "really??" events are curling and table-tennis.
I believe that those things take skill, practice and training, but each falls outside of my own perspective of what fits as an Olympic-worthy event. 🙃
@@First._.Last. table tennis is actually a great sport and a lot harder than it looks. but trampoline is... really i do not understand that one. :( maybe we are missing something.
what dont you understand about it? assuming you arent trolling, im just wondering, does their physical skill not impress you as someone outside the sport? I mean if you are not a trampolinist you couldnt even do 10 jumps in the box at half their hight on your first go...@@brittaperry7994
What???? : they need to wear the mask during their performance !! You never know what might be lurking in the air above the trampoline??
And the award for "Did not watch the video before commenting" goes to.....
Seriously. Not a single athlete had their masks on during the trampoline warm ups and during their routines. They had them on when on ground level next to other people. And even then, most did not immediately put them back on post routine while they were still cooling off and awaiting their scores.
