    • @nathanlubeck6585
      @nathanlubeck6585 Год назад +1

      It’d be interesting to see. But to be fair, artistic gymnasts don’t train to rebound backwards out of their tumbling elements like a double layout or any other thing like that, so it’d be really hard to switch to that having never trained it. I don’t think they could compare to male tumblers, but I think they could give female tumblers a real run for their money.

    • @thetomcoe
      @thetomcoe Год назад

      @@nathanlubeck6585 Transitions (double layout to whip) aren't rocket science for gymnasts. The top Male tumblers start doing it around 10-12 yrs old.
      The top women only do one transition per run (sometimes 0). Simone Biles would have been top 2 tumblers in the world if she trained, even with a slightly dodgy transition the women have enough whips to regain power for final skill. She would also be better than a few of these men (top women already doing double layout to double layout or harder).
      Slightly harder for Male artistic gymnasts but no reason why some (eg Jake Jarman GB) couldn't be competitive with a tiny bit of training. To be top 3 in the world you really need 3-4 transitions over 2 runs and a triple so the power is the focus in tumbling. Artistic have to do pommel and flexibility for floor so sacrifice a little power, and will also have more unnecessary bulk for tumbling.
