Well, what i would suggest is to use the metrics system. I never understood how it is possible to make a proper job using inches, especially for small job where even 1 mm matters

But its better to know how to use both.

It's only easier to use metric if lumber and material dimensions were based on metric, otherwise you end up with a lot of oddball millimeter dimensions.

Mistake at 0:40, 35 inches cannot be 3ft- 5in.

If I do use feet, I typically write it as 3⁴ as apposed to 34 for 3'-4". But doing it all in inches is still more legible when using blunt markers.
