Why do carpenters in my area lock the saw’s guard opened and turn it upside down when they dont use it?
When i walk by the blade is still spinning opened.

Yeah I always wondered that myself. A lot of framers will remove the safety protocols on their tools and it drives me insane. It's one of the reasons I got a 16 penny nail in my knee cap. Nail gun just hanging on my hip and pop next thing I know it I'm driving myself to the hospital. This is actually one of the reasons why I use a left-handed saw when I cut rafters. From the angle of a right-handed person the saw guard opens much easier. It also keeps my fingers well away from the saw blade. We may make a video about it.

I've seen a guy rip decking boards with a circular while holding the board down with his right foot and cutting toward his left foot. Some people think the darwin awards are competitive.

Couldn't you just use the gauge upside to get a safe depth? Thanks for the video.

@@JandKCarpentryBros- I think he means to mount the tightening screw facing down on the speed square so that there would be more contact with the wood.

I’m gonna disagree on depth of cut. People say it’s preference but it’s not. The gullets are for cooling the blade so the blade depth should be to the bottom of the gullet.

Because looking at other different ways to operate or the effect of doing work, which you already know how to do; and simply looking if anything else you can pick-up to further hone their skills-set is not something any "Craftsman" would do? You sure sound like a young pup with oily lips.. . . . And it's not a 'Need' for everyone, either.
