Now I feel like drinking poison for fun is pure insanity!! Glad I am out of that trap, its awful!!
It is definitely a poison. And we feel so much better when we quit. Well done!
Your wife and son are getting a "consistent version" of you. THAT ladies and gentlemen, is called "sobriety"! Physical sobriety, followed by emotional sobriety. I was a hopeless, chronic alcoholic who stood at the turning point in May of 1994. Three things happened...I went to meetings, (still do) cleared away the wreckage of my past, and tried to carry the message of hope to others.
I now have more than 27 years of "reasons" to stay sober. It has been the greatest adventure of my life! All the best to you Simon, and family! Mark
Thank you Mark! I appreciate you actively commenting on my channel. You've got great insights.
My name is Jim. I’ve been sober for 16 days now I was about ready to lose my wife to start sleeping upstairs. Losing all my grandkids no contact with them but I know I need help. I can’t do this on my own so I’ve been listening to your RUclips on podcasts and it’s out and I am going to AA meetings when my wife is not very ill.
Hang in there Jim, hope it’s going well for you!
@@jonnylons1 it only took you 10 months to reply. It’s been horrible. I’ve had no help now I’m back drinking again like I said, and horrible.
Sorry to hear that Jim, I just discovered the video today and I’m going through something similar. Try your best to make a plan and make a start at giving up. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
As Allen Carr said we were never really in control .we were controlled
I'm almost 3 months in. Blood pressure went from 160+/90 to a pretty consistent 110 or less/67....heart rate from 120 resting to around 70 or less....cut my BP medicine slowly and is pretty much off it now....I love it!
Thank you so much for this honest story, stories like this motivate me to walk away from toxic substances for good. I just turned 32 and I really thought it was 31, a friend had to remind me. My God I lost a whole year to depression, alcohol and smoking. I want to change. Thank you again for your honesty.
That's pretty bad. I hope you're in a better place now
How are you doing now? Did you manage to get sober?
You can do this bc I quit drinking 4 months ago after 10 years of heavy dranking. I'm 28
This year I noticed things that used to work have run their course , and no longer work . Alcohol is on the top of the list, it brings problems .
Nailed it. Everything you’ve said in this video rings true to me. 5 months in and happier than ever, more consistent for my children, etc, etc. Not turning back to the jerk I was.
Thank you for making this video.
I'm grateful to be sober !!! ❤❤
This channel and Simon made me realise what I already knew but pushed me forward to quit,it’s only been a month but my anxiety has gone and that is a gift in itself, knowing the choices I have I choose to stop putting this poison in my body and finally getting my life, personality and zest for life back.
Keep up the good work
So glad i found you! 1 month sober and counting!

Day 8 for me. Feel great physically but the emotional mood swings are killing me
I hope you're doing better this week.
@@besober 2 weeks now. Feel great! Thank you!
I had to take a leave of absence from work to focus on recovery. Best thing I could do for my self . Alcoholics anonymous works but it takes effort and it's a dailey reprieve . But its 100 percent the effort. I'm a alcoholic and I've come to realize I cannot do any drugs or alcohol

I feel so much better and feel better .
Dismissive, grumpy and snappy is my spouse in a nutshell and boy am I sick of it.
Drinking ruins your life for sure. I drank for 50 years and finally quit 5 years ago. I’m 70 now and glad I did quit I really couldn’t handle the hangovers after a night of drinking. I was a binge drinker and didn’t drink everyday but on the weekends or vacations I always drank heavy. I wish o had quit when I was 25 , quit now if you want a great life.
Alcohol is so bad for your whole body . Health . My life became unmanageable
Sobriety is 1 for me
