Lovely. I agree with lots of your comments. @Anet : The action cam stuff is great as someone who uses both it and cursor as per the situation and class/buold dictates.... But!.. There needs to be a reset cursor to the crosshair position when transferring out of Action cam on the fly. This is the main thing that is needed. Perhaps even a keybind to recenter the cursor regularly, beyond swapping beteeen action cam.
The story shouldn't be a selling point for any mmo. Even ff14 if you compare it to the top story games would look like a joke. The writing in mmos are b tier at best.

But that’s not necessarily because mmos can’t have good stories. They just haven’t because of incompetent writers. same, I was so bored trying out soto. I just played for the strikes and metas. I cant get my self to have my character stand there in a story chapter and have NPCS talk for hours.
Soto has quite a bit of that retro korean-style mmo approach. The graphics and the atmosphere in my mind quite resemble some of the older iconic korean mmos, such as Aion and similar titles. I like it because I spent quite some time in Aion back on it's release (before it was complete p2w) so I might be a bit biased here :)
Amen to your views on Silent Surf. Doesn't feel like it belongs in fractal at all, more like a strike mission. I'm so scared to see the new fractal because they failed so hard on the last one.
The leaderboards will be fun to see. The UI will probably just be repurposed Adventures. Will it show the squadleader? or will it show the top 50 people being your whole squad with identical Timestamps. Will be interesting to see.

This is a game problem It's hard to play when all your interactions with your friends in game end up in the fact that after helping others for years, they stop playing after a month or two at most This is literally the life cycle of a player in GW 2

In my opinion, meta events need to have mechanics similar to what is found in instanced content. Why? Because it prepares them for instanced content. Have a nice open world -> meta events/world boss -> instanced content pipeline.
When you decide to just make sure to do a private one or play during peak hours, Because I have spent 30 minutes in a convergence only for it to fail and get no rewards, several times, lol.
I'm playing on a low end PC (integrated graphics) and it seems the maps lag just gets worse and worse each expansion, I can barely render in the mobs or do meta mechanics. Its to the point I refuse to actually travel from a waypoint, I'll just TP to friend straight to the bosses to avoid having to load stuff in
FPS dropped to 30 in Amnytas one of the reasons I uninstalled I think. Drops to 30 in WvW unless all character model detail and amount is at low/lowest. 8GB GPU, 16GB Ram, Ryzen 5500. The person saying their $500 laptop never dropped frames either does content solo when the game is dead, has every single setting at the lowest, is okay with 30FPS and doesn't consider that a frame drop or all three.
I think in WvW they should really nerf zerging. Right now there is not much you can do when outnumbered and you really should be able to, of course, provided that you can outplay them.
Aaaaand that's why PvP is dead, it's gate kept by people that only really play PvP, or have played the game for 12 years. So what's the point for newbies or less skilled players to get into PvP and learn when all that happens is a 500-0 thrashing, especially when doing the PvP events that actually reward good stuff (like gold from ATs). Only way to get better is to sit and duel or slowly grind your way up the ladder to get better. I think ATs should be split into rankings, so players that are rank 1 gate keepers should only play vs rank 1 gate keepers, and silver plebs should play vs silver plebs etc.
Isnt that the case with literally every competitive game or sport ever? It is true tho that the problem feels especially rough in gw2 with no proper Tier 2/3 infrastructure and the pool of top players being really small

What would incentivize less skilled or newer players to enter PvP after playing a few games of AT and losing 500-0. Nothing, that's what. Who really wants to get good at GW2 PvP at this late stage of the game's life? If you want PvP, and a game that focuses on competitivity, then you could play CS2 or LoL. For example, in LoL, you start with bots, and move your way up to playing better people, of course it has its problems, but at least you're not getting destroyed in every single game. But this is only my opinion, maybe I don't know enough GW2 PvPers to actually comment, but the people I do know in game don't even care about the PvP aspect of the game, and only chill in WvW where your individual skill isn't always so impactful.
It's not our problem that there isn't enough population to separate players into tiers arena net had 12 years to encourage players to populate this mode, if they didn't, it's their problem, not ours 🤦♂️ I remember that at the premiere this mode was dead from day one no rankings or awards.

I feel like I'm the only one who can see that he imitates Isgarren when it comes to looks. It feels like Flintheart Glomgold's relationship with Scrooge McDuck in Ducktales (2017). It makes sense he skips leg day, he wants to look like Isgarren so bad and since Isgarren has no legs he has no legs either.
Then there has to be significantly more story to each chapter. Right now, I feel like I spend more time doing all DRMs than I do each story sequence. "Blink and you'll miss it" story content is already bad enough. Having it artificially spaced out would be so bad.
Since last update to finish the soto story I didn't even just visit any soto areas except for wizards tower 😂 So annoying the soto update tbh. They were good to give away more or less a free skyscale here to get people start the storyline 😅
