    Frankly my dream scenario is the boon dps gives might, fury and quickness/alacrity, while the healer gives protection, regeneration, vigor and quickness/alacrity, either can give swiftness. Every other boon is on-demand only. Every piece of boon and utility is so loaded onto the healers.

    All I know is I play necromancer to scrape people off the floor, and play with dead stuff. Minions have been dead for years, and this kills the last of my death magic class fantasy, I have no reason to ever touch scourge again.

      Minions where actually pretty busted right after release of Lonely Tower fractal due to condi transfer trait and condi on hit debuff.
      Also, Reaper is currently in a very good spot as DPS.

      they should stop outright removing unique mechanics and just nerf their effects instead. we are moving towards every class doing the same thing but in a different color

    I highly disagree with the philosophy of "first steps"
    When you take something away from players with no immediate compensation/wayout so to speak, you lose players (or move them to another class for awhile). This seriously hurts the player and class health in general because now you suddenly get a massive dip in players playing a certain spec or class because of these sort of balances.
    We still have SEVERAL traits which were left as butchered messes, things like Precision traits which are now 10s ICD 4s base duration Fury pulsing traits like what the hell are those even? When are those getting a fix!? They're basically dead traits which has no ETA on getting reworked and Transfusion being nerfed will end up as another of those because people may just drop the some pitiful 9% revive/ chip heal over time over something that can actually heal like Druid or Chrono.
    And heck, Necro doesn't even have a Healing weapon! All they have for Dagger is Life force generation, it doesn't actually facilitate healing! Minimally, straight up change one of the Blood Magic traits to Heal whenever you use Shroud 1. Now that would make Scourge actually heal because every instance of Desert Shroud skill is considered a 1 skill for trait purposes. And not only that, this will indirectly make Quickness Harbinger capable of healing too because they can just enter shroud and go 1 1 1 1 1 1 to heal

    Look, I say this knowing full well it's not going to change because it's too big of a project, but I hate the boon system at this point. All boons being a must-have completely removes any interesting aspects to the system. It makes it a vestigial piece of the game that simply adds to the complexity wall that new players face. If 25 might is baseline, why even have might in the game at all? If skills are balanced around alacrity cooldowns, why even have alacrity in the game? It feels like the only thing it does at this point is create boon support roles, which again just add to the complexity creep of understanding the combat in the game.
    In my opinion buffs are most interesting when they have to be used strategically. When everything is just spammed all the time and 100% uptime is a must or the build doesn't cut it, it makes everything boring and samey. Just my 2 cents.

    When it comes to a healer that is a Necromancer, raising up your allies is peak class fantasy. If they have to remove transfusion for balance, it should have come with an actual compromise improvement in the same patch.
    I can't agree with just removing it and then figuring out what the replace it with later. Feels sloppy. Blood Magic is also very thematic for healing, so maybe reinforce that and make dagger a healer weapon.

    As for the transfusion change, I think they should keep the teleport BUT give it a long internal cooldown. That would mean in PVE parts without much movement it is basically the same, but in every other case it is now a tradeoff to waste the teleport for an unneeded situation or giving up the revive from transfusion for a while.

    It’s like removing portals for Mesmers next. Removing fun stuff. Transfusion was just a powerful tool, like why not giving every class a fun tool instead of removing them.
    It’ll end up like wow where every DPS is just either ranged or melee in different colors but the same kit

      It's a powerful tool on a 15/20 second cooldown. That's a problem. Increase the cooldown to 45 seconds or a minute.

    You know what was fun? Shadow siphon rez on Specter. Anet said yeet and delete, and never looked back. But hey! At least they finally read the Specter beta feedback and made one whole skill not ally targeted 😂
    AND I am so sure they are STILL "keeping an eye on Specter's missing initiative"
    It's sad for necro but at least they still have a rez trait, and a good heal build!

    Scrapper needed fury not might... If you are a heal scrapper you have no access to fury outside of the midnight king relic. If you need might on qdps scrapper you can take blast gyro or pinpoint distribution

    just make transfusion reduce the CD on signet of undeath when triggered (and/or maybe retain the passive when the signet is used or something). This allows you to retain like the class identity aspect of it without it being so broken

    Honestly if they dont wanna completely kill HealScourge, buff its healing/barrier, and have transfusion give either 3 stacks of Stability or Aegis.
    Its not a great solution, but it would help take pressure off of the radical change, while giving it some of that defensive utility you would pair with a Herald or Quickbrand
    It could give rise to the HealAlac + QuickZerker offensive team comp focused on hard pumping

    Can they implement a balance to my carpal tunnel, which I get from having to click nearly 2000+ times on my mouse when trading for refined mats in the homestead? How a "Buy/Trade Quantity" feature for this was not part of the rollout is an absolute swing-and-miss of epic proportions on Janthir Wilds, particularly for what I'd argue was the most touted feature of the expansion.

    39:43 Push is rough in NA on this mini season. Not a lot of interest, big queues, good amount of AFK players still. Hopefully more interest later this week in the trial.

    They need make up their mind, either utility increase and reduce heal or increase heal and reduce utility. I personally think necro needs to be utility and have corpse summon and let the healers bring them up. Use them as full healer support. They sit onntop of the healer and pull healer rez squad. They are killing the heal spec anyway. Maybe buff the lifesteal mechanics to stay true to a necromancer.

    We have to be honest with ourselves a bit. With Wing 8 on the horizon, ANET does not want Scourge hard carrying. If Wing 8 normal is too hard, though, it will kill raiding….again.

      Wing 8 normal mode will not be hard for good players.
      Raids are already super hard for beginners and roll over for veterans. This is a gameplay skill curve problem. It isn't really something anet can help more than the insane powercreep they've implemented already.

    in regards to the talk about spears. In regards to ranger it's tough to see where they want to go with it. It's not good for pve, and its not good for pvp either. And it's not just the numbers, the gameplay is extremely weird

    Stronghold has potential but the mechanics need to be reworked. I like the idea of having a GvG theme. Removing the supply mechanic would already be a good start as it’s just tiresome and doesn’t offer interesting strategy options. I’d be interested to try out 3 keeps with 3 teams pushing through each other’s defenses. Look back to what Guild Wars 1 did so well with Heroes Ascent.
    Another option is to use Guild Halls for a Stronghold/GvG type game mode. Would have to make a smaller space of course but if the map is bigger, one could even try 4 teams!

    Fantastic WvW move by eliminating concentration and expertise completely in the WvW celestial armor configuration; long overdue, should bring some much needed balance back to WvW. Removing transfusion's teleport completely may be a bit harsh, but that 15/20 second cooldown on Garish Pillar needs to be tripled at a minimum if that functionality stays. Period. End of discussion. Anyone who thinks that having a mass teleport with revive on a 15 or 20 second cooldown is balanced is delusional.

    I would put down good money to say that they won't actually go through with the scourge change. They've done this with warrior "previews" in the past; introduce an idea only to not implement it due to backlash.

    Why not have both conquest and push be available in ranked at the same time so people can choose. Playing one game mode day after day can be tiresome so this way you can choose. Instead of having Seasons with different modes, have them available at the same time and perhaps take away unranked. So PvP is just always ranked (like WvW already is) and if you want to practice you can go into the browser/Costum arenas. Other games have multiple game modes available at the same time and imo this keeps the experience fresh.

      It isn't an issue, it's an absolute necessity if they intend to keep the teleport/revive components of the skill intact; 45 seconds at an absolute minimum.

    WoW is very class forward in its design with keystone abilities that become iconic over time.
    GW2, despite ironically having Elite Skills, is not class forward. It's focus is on boons. GW2 patches aren't about giving a class a new iconic ability. It's about giving them might or alacrity. It's completely detached from the fantasy.

      if you're familiar with the history of the meta of the game it's easy to understand why anet has moved away from the type of unique buffs and stuff like that that essentially made some classes mandatory to be played and crushed diversity. You had to have a druid, a chrono, a banners warrior and those classes could only play those roles.
      I think they still haven't figured out how to make classes feel unique whilst taking away these class defining features, but ultimately the meta is in a much better place now than it used to be.

      I’m definitely aware of how HoT meta, and to an extent PoF, was stagnant due to things like Spotter, Banners, etc.
      It’s a damning reality on Anet’s creativity that their only ideas for moving away from unique buffs was to move to buffs everyone can use. Just as boring, and now even less special. GW2 isn’t a game that prioritizes class fantasy, and it is why its balance changes feel so sterile.

    Anet’s balance team strikes again. It’s almost like they hate their own game and the players who love it. Have they ever explained their balance philosophy and why they do what they do?
    When none of the players understand their balance choices, then Anet’s obviously doing it wrong! This pattern of behavior at every new release just frustrates the players and I’m sure that it is responsible for driving some players away from the game. Anet makes the new weapons (or previously, the new elite specs) the best options in the game and then they nerf them a few weeks or months later.
    We all know that Anet does this to incentivize players to buy the latest expansion, but then they have to nerf the new stuff in a lame attempt to balance the game. This time around they have gone after a long used niche build in addition to their usual pattern. Anet’s inability to do a good job of balancing the game is the main reason why PvP isn’t played by the majority of players in this game.

    Holy shit! Skipping the story as a new player in FFXIV would be so hype, that would be content indeed.
    I've been playing the trial of FFXIV and World of Warcraft and I gotta say I kinda prefer wow for the less cutscene heavy game, it took me 85 HOURS! before I got to the city that unlocked Machinist, I'm not saying the story was bad but I got into this game to try out certain jobs and it took forever to get there. ARR is big oof in terms of pacing.

      It's heavy indeed, but if you continue playing you will rank it higher and higher over time, since it's necessary world building that will pay off later.

      @@snowdropfox5754 Maybe, and I also know as time passes I will start to forget the pain that it took me forever to unlock the job that got me into the game in the first place.
      But still does not change the fact that I realized through playing FFXIV why I enjoy GW2, its mostly gameplay and its very light in cutscenes the game literally throws you into open world after a 10 minutes new player instance and then give you time to breath for the first 10 levels.
      I know some players will prefer hand holding that WOW does with their new player island, but I understand why I immediately clicked with GW2 when I started playing it.
      I will keep playing FFXIV until I hit level 70 in most if not all jobs and also do the last MSQ available in Free Trial, and then maybe I will actually subscribe or not.

      @@Mister5597 I encourage you do to it, Shadowbringers and Endwalker are supreme. You'd do yourself a disservice not to play them, if you enjoy the story at all.
      While I agree, I also think FF14 does one thing way better, it integrates content into the story. You don't even need to do a single dungeon in GW2 before reaching LvL 80 and the core maps are giga easy, which is very much reflected in the average player skill.

      @@snowdropfox5754 True, I had to do 8-man trials and alliance raids to complete ARR and the experience was pretty much on par with my experience doing any group content for the first time in GW2 where I go like "What's going on?", "Where am I supposed to be standing?", "What just one shotted me?"
      The chaos of alliance raid was the best, it was the closest thing to convergences and open world metas, the first one raid I was super confused where I was supposed to go so I just selected my tank and followed the arrow, and then immediately got one shotted by the "Don't stand here" mechanic from the very first encounter. It was also funny that we whipped 3 times on Behemoth because no one was killing the adds that blows up the rocks.
      The other alliance raids was way more comprehensive considering I watched a video on the basics of it, and I also noticed there were less sprouts on my squad.
      I am planning on playing all expansions in FFXIV, but I am still farming legendary armor in GW2 and also there are other games on my list to play besides these, and it feels like there is a mountain of content in free trial to get through, so it may take me several months before I get there and actually start paying a sub.
      I know that the very second I pay a sub my account will not be trial and then I won't be able to login anymore if I'm not paying, so I will look for a significant down time in other games before I pull the trigger and start paying for FFXIV.

    I didn’t even know scourge was a controversial change until watching this video.
    Transfusion has been a plague on the game for a long time. First it trivialised raids (especially when condi scourge has been good) and it has been LITERALLY killing the GvG/WvW scene for a year. I think this together with killing cele in WvW is one of the best changes they’ve ever made

      I agree 100%. People are whining about the transfusion change because they won't be able to play god every 15 seconds to basically cheese raids and ultra-challenging content, rewarding lazy play by giving groups a downed extract-and-reset button on a miniscule cooldown. Anet should 100% go through with the change, and if they don't, crank the cooldown on using it to the level of an elite skill.

    7:00 arenanet, it is I, your youtube commentator unpaid game balance consultant. Here's my proposed Transfusion changes: keep the function as is but reduce the number of targets to 1, and instead of proccing on shroud 4, make it proc on some necro skill type, like wells, your choice, anet.

      I've seen a good decision in one of the comments. Making cooldowns longer depending on how many people it resed. Some of the classes already have it and it won't make it hard to implement it in the game.

      Transfusion isnt getting as nerfed as people make it out to be. The main strength was that the teleport range was greater than the minor well of blood range. As I've read it, this change will eliminate the teleport but the minor well will still cast. At worst, this seems that it will require the healscourge to position better, but that won't be much of an issue with a well played group that stacks as they should anyway.

    they neutered Warrior banners a few years ago, and the Mirage dodge & alac builds. I'm okay with seeing this happen to transfusion, I've been waiting for it honestly.
