How I almost lost my first Shiny: I found a Shiny Floatzel in Pearl, my first ever Shiny, I was really excited, after catching it and saving, I went to tell my brother about it, and I made the terrible mistake of leaving my DS on the couch... When my brother and I came back, so I could show him the Floatzel, I found my little cousin holding the DS and said "Your game was glitched there was this weird color in your Floatzel, so I released it!" I was on the verge of crying but then he said that he didn't saved the game, I reseted the game and I was back on the save point after I caught Floatzel. I almost fainted that day...

So I would just start a new game and be unable to save . I would get pretty far even to beating 3rd gym and then my dad would run out of power and I would lose all that progress.
My brother got pokemon red as a 5 year old. And since he hadn’t learned english yet he didn’t know you could capture pokemon and ended up killing everything with his (in the end) level 100 blastoise.
Here’s a couple of mistakes and both were during my Nuzlockes bc I'm currently a Nuzlocker: 1. During my X Nuzlocke, I was battling Siebold, I had Gogoat out during this. When he was about to send out Gyarados, I was planned to switch to Charizard to set up Sunny Day, and then switch to Snorlax to tank a hit and use Thunderbolt. However, because I sped up the game, I accidentally misclicked, keeping Gogoat in. I then switched to Charizard, while Gyarados was setting up Dragon Dance. And then, he outspeeds Charizard, killing it. (this was the only death I experienced in this game) 2. I was nuzlocking Black 2, and this was during a time where I didn’t know you can delay evolutions. After defeating Elesa using only Drilbur, I accidentally let Drilbur evolve into Excadrill instead of delaying it. Why? Because I didn’t realize until too late that Drilbur learns Earthquake at level 33 and Excadrill learns it 3 levels later. Check your Pokémon's movesets guys!
Imagine being that one guy who missed it because you thought you were supposed to battle him after reaching hammerlocke for your gym badge later in the story And he screams as you kill all his pokemon
@@walkingtowersyndrome Yes because there is barely any difference. If I were to see a shiny Leafeon, but not see the shiny effect, i wouldn't care and kill it and still shiny hunt for it.
One of my biggest mistakes from when I first started playing diamond (and ruby) was I thought that the buffer that occurred while you were poisoned was a glitch and my game was broken whenever it happened and restarted every time that happened Suffice to say, I have played up to Floroma town and Dewford city more times than I can count
My dumbest mistake was that I did know much about stats, and when I was playing Silver for the first time, I had leer on Totodile, and it's animation looked as if it's a damaging laser-like move, but it always said that the opposing Pokemon's defense fell. I kept spamming it for a long time, until I realized that after I used it, my Scratch one-shotted the enemy. I was like WHOA! That is so cool!
My dumbest mistake is between two things. The first: Catching zangoose in a masterball because I didn't have any other pokeballs left and it looked cool The second (same save file btw) : I restarted my game with an event meloetta in it.
4:57 that remembered me a funny story I was playing Pokémon Emerald with my cousin and all of her Pokémon fainted but not one, a lvl16 magikarp against the Norman's slaking, and you know what happened in the front of my eyes when i said her "This battle is over, you lost, just give up" but Magikarp's tackle did take the slaking out and i am to this day surprised of that magikarp that defeated a Norman's SLAKING WITH A LVL16 MAGIKARP, THATS INSANE!!! Did something like this happened to you if one of your family or friends? 7:11 When i completed my team in Emerald (while my cousin of the mythical magikarp, was playing too) i had 3 fighting types: Blaziken (because wasn't any fire types that i like to use Breloom (because wynaut?) Hariyama (because i had a hariyama on Pokémon Go that i really liked its strenght) (This happened in August of 2019 because it wouldn't make any sense to be 2004)
I used to think that GameFreak could look at me through the ds camera so I would sit there in front of the camera and prey for them to give me a good Pokémon encounter....
When Patterz said “ Some people don’t like Platinum” I gave him a death stare through the screen because I was shocked and he said “ Those people are wrong.” 😂
My dumbest mistake was thinking that second seedbomb wouldn't kill the only wild shiny I encountered to this day in 9 years of playing, not knowing about highrolls and lowrolls
In Pokémon X, when I got to dendemille town(to proceed the game and get to the next city you have to ride a Mamoswine through heavy snow), I thought I had to catch a Mamoswine to proceed. So then I caught a Pilowswine, with a masterball, obviously. I then realized that I couldn’t figure out how to evolve it and shortly after evolving it(with some help), I proceed to the next town. It was only after that I beat the game that I realized that I only had to complete some story before that npc lends you his Mamoswine and also I caught that Piloswine after I beat team flare at Frost Cavern.
During my second playthrough of emerald, i rushed through the gyms and was at the 7th gym, forgot to train all my Pokemon and lost 5 of my team during a nuzlocke
I restarted my game of Super Mystery Dungeon because I had no Oran Berries or Reviver Seeds left to tackle the Voidlands and I thought there wasn't any ways to get more back at this point in the game, not realizing I could have just gone to Pelliper Island to get more of them.
The dumbest thing I ever did was train a Pikachu to level 100 in emerald completely baffled as to why it wouldn't evolve. It wasn't until a couple years later I realized I had to use a thunderstone but my 8yo self thought every pokemon evolved by level up.
Dumbest Pokémon Mistake I made: When I was playing Pokémon Sun, I encountered a Shiny Yungoos but didn’t know it was a Shiny because its Shiny Animation was a Firework and not a Sparkle so then I accidentally made it faint
The biggest mistake I made in pokemon was in Oras. I had completed the 7th gym and thought I had to just go to the 8th gym as I now had dive. I was 8 at the time so I forgot the cutscene and couldn't find the magma base. This lead me to having an over levelled team for when I was finally smart enough to find the base 5 years later. 20 plus hours went down the drain. Thanks Oras. 👍
I know I’m late but the dumbest mistake I made was that I didn’t know I needed to train my Pokemon and just fight the trainers on my way to the next gym and my Pokemon would be like 10 levels apart. This made me think the plant type gym had the best Pokemon in the entire game.
when I first played platinum, I never knew that you had to save. I always thought that it was some sort of journal. So, for the past few months, I kept on repeating the game, over and over again.
Crystal was my first game ever. Even at 27, I remember that, at 6, I thought my entire save file.....was on the batteries. So the very first time my GBC died, I was literally halfway through the Elite Four. And when I told my Mom, she changed the batteries, and I FREAKED out. For about 10-15 min, before she was finally able to at least get through to me long enough for "Just turn it back on!" And I was SO happy realizing the batteries didn't affect it lol
Used a Master Ball on an Abra in Granite Cave and saved the game many times afterwards. Teleport was just that frustrating for younger me. Another mistake I made was that I used to think Steel was supereffective against Electric types because they could act as lightningrods and conductors and such to disperse electricity. Every time I tried it, I would be thoroughly confused, and although I had suspicions in Gen 3, I didn't realize I was completely wrong until Gen 4.
When I was younger, I didn't understand that certain moves had stronger/weaker versions of themselves, and that you're supposed to replace the weaker versions with the stronger ones. E.g. Absorb --> Mega Drain --> Giga Drain, I had pokemon who knew all three rather than replacing Absorb with Mega Drain and so on. The worst was when I let a Claydol learn both Self Destruct and Explosion at the same time
i think that the reason that some people thought psychic was super effective against ghost is because of a glitch in generation one. In gen 1, the only types effective against psychic were ghost and bug, but psychic was immune to ghost because of a glitch. therefore, psychic became almost unstoppable and the fact that the strongest bug types hardly learned ANY bug type moves DID NOT help. That became the reason Sabrina was such a tough gym leader. AND since psychic was STILL strong in gen two even after the addition of the dark type and the fix in the glitch, Lugia was given the psychic type and NOT the water type. so at least they had a good reason to make Lugia psychic-flying and NOT water-flying.
When I was a kid I would only use blue Pokémon so my soul silver team consisted of Feraligatr, Poliwrath, regular Gyarados not the shiny one, articuno and lugia
You know how the Pokémon Colosseum story was hard? 6 year old me skimmed through the tutorial and thought that the Shadow Pokémon had to be gotten rid of ASAP. I didn’t realize you could catch them and knowing me, I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t want to steal the Pokémon because I would just say, “Stealing is wrong!”. I also think that I was anticipating the appearance of wild Pokémon, which was the reason why I didn’t put two and two together when I got to buy PokeBalls. Long story short, I beat the entire game with only Umbreon and Espeon, all the while thinking, “Wow! This game is really hard! I can’t wait to catch Pokémon!”
My first pokemon game was Crystal, and because the guy who shows you how to catch pokemon recalled his pokemon before throwing the ball, I was convinced that you had to do that before you were able to catch the pokemon. So I sat there, 6-7 years old, couldn't even read english, and tried to figure out how you recall your pokemon, only to give up, and basically play through the first part of the game with only my Totodile. It wasn't until my cousin showed me how to catch pokemon that I was able to do so
In my Fire Red version when I was a kid, I used all my money to buy Poke Balls and nothing else, no even potions. Luckily it payed off because that was the first time I ever found a shiny Pokemon (I didn't even know what a shiny Pokemon was at the time). It was a shiny Rattata.
4:52 ACTUALLY, the pikachu was reset to level 5 due to zekrom's lightning, which also sealed it's electric moves, since the anime doesn't follow linear level progression.
My biggest mistake was in my first ever game, Pokemon White.I was having trouble on the normal gym leader, so I caught a Timburr. I thought it was so cool that I stopped using my starter and only used Cool(What i named him). Fast forward to the elite 4, I only have fighting and normal moves(Dynamic Punch, Retaliate, Brick Break and Superpower i think). Always got stuck on the ghost elite 4, I actually only beat White late last year
My dumbest mistake was when i first played as a little tiny child. i didn't realize that the doormat was where the door was, like i didn't connect the dots, so i didn't know how to leave the house for the longest time.
Same for my first Pokémon game! I had to give the game to my dad a moment so he could find the exit xd I mean, that wasn't even obvious, they could've added a door...
When I first played ORAS, I didn’t save whenever fighting Legendaries, and killed Groudon and other legendaries such as Mesprit (the only one I could remember), and I couldn’t beat the League because I was also under leveled. I only found out about legendaries not respawning after killing them when I was talking with people on the bus. Basically opened up my mind on how to correctly fight legendaries, and I did reset my save file and played through it again, but I won’t forget those mistakes I made
My worst mistake? Believing an old friend with a Action Replay. They got a hold of my game and thought to be helpful. He dropped in an 999 or so Cherish Balls and told me he 'unlocked' them for me. I loved the look of the Cherish Balls and didn't know they were exclusively for Events, so I kept them. Later on, I found a Shiny Absol and got really excited. I wanted it in the best ball I had... So I used a Cherish Ball... I now have a legitimate Shiny in a hacked ball. He's transferred all the way to Sword and Shield.
Back in Pokemon Y, there was a Registeel trade on the GTS for a Garchomp with the message saying, "HA plz." I thought they were mocking others like they were bragging about having a legendary Pokemon. So, I traded a Garchomp with the Sand Veil ability. Later, I realized that "HA" was short for "Hidden Ability" so now everytime I look at a Registeel, I just feel the big sad.
10:45 if you have problems with Whitney and hate her, just have a Bayleef with poison powder (but first a flaffy to paralyse the lum Berry) And then wait while attacking and it dies, thats why for me Whitney is easy, no problem like everyone says
I've probably talked about this before (I know I have in other places), but when I was playing Sapphire as a kid, I had no idea what shiny Pokemon were. I came across a yellow Swablu and thought it had just eaten a special color-changing berry, like those pink Pokemon in the Orange Islands arc of the anime. One of these days, I'm going to shiny hunt for Swablu in a main series game.
I’m currently playing through Platinum right now and when the Togepi egg you get from Cynthia hatched, I noticed that it had Hustle and not Serene Grace, so I had reset to see if I could get Serene Grace. Little had I realized that I hadn’t saved at all the entire game and I had to start from the beginning again. (I also had a Brave nature Grotle, which is probably the best nature for a Torterra)
My dumb mistake is in Pokémon is that I traded a random urshifu from Pokémon home for an articuno when it is very common in max raid battle but when I looked at it back it was hacked so that mistake was a blessing
Back when I was a kid, I was playing Pokémon Silver. We finished the Pokémon League in Kanto and I was just strolling along Johto. But then I encountered Entei. I called my brother what I saw and then proceeded to catching it. But then it ran away. We were so disappointed we just reset the Gameboy without saving. Then we realised that we could've track it with the Pokédex.

Back when I was a dumb kid playing Red, I thought I could get multiple master balls in the game. So I used mine on a goldeen. Now, whenever I see a goldeen come out of a master ball in Smash, it hurts a little inside.
So that's why you can get goldeen out of master balls in that game
Think of it as your Goldeen from all those years ago coming back to you.
I thought that back in my first game, white, and I though you could get more, and threw it at a Watchog, and now whenever I see a watchog I just have some personal PTSD
i used a master ball on a level 3 rookidee
At least you can get multiple master balls in sword and shield
When I was a kid playing yellow and crystal, I always thought stat reducing moves like growl, tail whip, screech, etc, were permanent until I visited a Pokemon center

My brother got pokemon red as a 5 year old. And since he hadn’t learned english yet he didn’t know you could capture pokemon and ended up killing everything with his (in the end) level 100 blastoise.
frick i forgot to check twitter and my biggest mistake has to be killing a shiny golbat when i didn't even know what shinies were
Here’s a couple of mistakes and both were during my Nuzlockes bc I'm currently a Nuzlocker:
1. (this was the only death I experienced in this game)
2. Check your Pokémon's movesets guys!
oh god i watched that egg lock earlier and i was in pain but laughing at how silver just ohko'ed itself after all the stuff
9:10 subnoodle was like "no rowlet you can't sit here this is OUR plug moment"
During a nuzlocke, I battled Cafe Master Richard in Hammerlocke right when I got there. I lost four Pokemon...
Imagine being that one guy who missed it because you thought you were supposed to battle him after reaching hammerlocke for your gym badge later in the story
And he screams as you kill all his pokemon
Gotta appreciate Pat sending out the chikorita love
I used a masterball on a solrock in pokemon Ruby
I mean, I think this is a joke and I am probably going to be mocked, but you can't catch Solrock in Sapphire
Why did I write sapphire, I meant ruby.
I caught an oddish with a master ball and i DO NOT regret it
Would you kill a shiny level 100 leafeon for 999M dollars?
@@walkingtowersyndrome Yes because there is barely any difference. If I were to see a shiny Leafeon, but not see the shiny effect, i wouldn't care and kill it and still shiny hunt for it.
*"You've made a dumb mistake by clicking on this video!"*
Me: .. *no u* ?
I beat Sword with a shiny magikarp. Now my title screen is just me and my golden fish boy.
This isn't a fail... This is a win
One of my biggest mistakes from when I first started playing diamond (and ruby) was I thought that the buffer that occurred while you were poisoned was a glitch and my game was broken whenever it happened and restarted every time that happened
Suffice to say, I have played up to Floroma town and Dewford city more times than I can count
I thought this exact thing when i played emerald
My dumbest mistake was that I did know much about stats, and when I was playing Silver for the first time, I had leer on Totodile, and it's animation looked as if it's a damaging laser-like move, but it always said that the opposing Pokemon's defense fell. I kept spamming it for a long time, until I realized that after I used it, my Scratch one-shotted the enemy. I was like WHOA! That is so cool!
10:49
"And I took that personally"
My dumbest mistake is between two things.
The first:
Catching zangoose in a masterball because I didn't have any other pokeballs left and it looked cool
The second (same save file btw) :
I restarted my game with an event meloetta in it.
I mean masterball is acceptable but event meloetta man that hurts
4:57 that remembered me a funny story
I was playing Pokémon Emerald with my cousin and all of her Pokémon fainted but not one, a lvl16 magikarp against the Norman's slaking, and you know what happened in the front of my eyes when i said her "This battle is over, you lost, just give up" but Magikarp's tackle did take the slaking out and i am to this day surprised of that magikarp that defeated a Norman's SLAKING WITH A LVL16 MAGIKARP, THATS INSANE!!!
Did something like this happened to you if one of your family or friends?
7:11 When i completed my team in Emerald (while my cousin of the mythical magikarp, was playing too) i had 3 fighting types:
Blaziken (because wasn't any fire types that i like to use
Breloom (because wynaut?)
Hariyama (because i had a hariyama on Pokémon Go that i really liked its strenght)
(This happened in August of 2019 because it wouldn't make any sense to be 2004)
The gen 5 starters are actually pretty good, at least in my opinion.
I personally liked gen 5 as a whole.
Snivy best Pokémon
@@snivygreen2216 you are a good person
@@ToSP. why? But thanks for the compliment. Your a good person too.
9:09 the poor Rowlet just falls and he doesn't even knows.
Damn I must of been extra dumb as a kid because I've made a lot of these mistakes 😂😂
Once I accidentally killed a Mewtwo in Ultra Sun, I had a save before it tho.
I used to think that GameFreak could look at me through the ds camera so I would sit there in front of the camera and prey for them to give me a good Pokémon encounter....
Lol
When Patterz said “ Some people don’t like Platinum” I gave him a death stare through the screen because I was shocked and he said “ Those people are wrong.” 😂
You know what my biggest mistake in pokemon is.:
TRADING AWAY MY SHINY HAUNTER AND NOT GETTING IT BACK
Was your trade partner's name Kevin Punt?
@@benjamincooper358 I dont remember because this was back in like 2018
My dumbest mistake was thinking that second seedbomb wouldn't kill the only wild shiny I encountered to this day in 9 years of playing, not knowing about highrolls and lowrolls
What about Accidentally pressing the game cartridge or doing something that makes the cartridge come out
Or worse, hitting it in such a way that the game freezes.
Was playin X once, played through like 2 gyms without saving. Decided to find out if taking out the sd card turned off the game
My biggest mistake was expecting anything good to be revealed in the recent Pokemon Presents
One of the mistakes I made was trying to heal with moonlight in a oras nuzlocke and the team aqua grunt had aqua jet on his Carvanha
It wasn"t a mistake more of a unexpected move
Pog gronk kills wolves now
when he was talking about pokemon games and the animie being strong, that reminded me of how DIRTY they did sudowoodo in the animie
9:08 Noooo Rowlet fell off a cliff!
The dumbest thing I ever did was train a Pikachu to level 100 in emerald completely baffled as to why it wouldn't evolve. It wasn't until a couple years later I realized I had to use a thunderstone but my 8yo self thought every pokemon evolved by level up.
I used master ball on a Metang me looking back it was. A shiny so ok
Fair
I got stuck on Crasher Wake's gym on SoulSilver for 5 years because I didn't know how to get past the waterfall
Crasher Wake?? On SoulSilver..?
Several years ago I traded my first ever shiny, a bunnelby, to my cousins friend for a garbodor, garbodor, of all the Pokémon, garbodor
Used a master ball on a booffalant (I think that is the correct spelling)
Dumbest Pokémon Mistake I made: When I was playing Pokémon Sun, I encountered a Shiny Yungoos but didn’t know it was a Shiny because its Shiny Animation was a Firework and not a Sparkle so then I accidentally made it faint
Thaddeus Chan noOO
Patterz: *talks about almost loosing a shiny Graveller to Explosion*
Me: *remembers loosing a shiny Graveller to Explosion in Pearl* Feelsbadman
Literally me, near the end of the last cave in Mt. Coronet before the Spear Pillar!
@Delphi same ;^;
I call that scenario the shiny boom
10:54 HOW DARE YOU SLANDER MY BOI OSHAWOTT
when I first played platinum, I never knew that you had to save.
For about 10-15 min, before she was finally able to at least get through to me long enough for "Just turn it back on!"
And I was SO happy realizing the batteries didn't affect it lol
10:45
Me a gen 5 lover who would do anything for a oshawott in real life: YOU WOT MATE
The worst was when I let a Claydol learn both Self Destruct and Explosion at the same time
When we were kids, my friend convinced me to wonder trade a shiny latias away
The dumbest mistake I've done is when I found a legendary one time tried to catch it but I didn't have ultra balls or a master ball :(
i think that the reason that some people thought psychic was super effective against ghost is because of a glitch in generation one.
Patterrz: the gen 5 starters are bad
Me: ... *what*
Patterrz: except serperior
Me: oh ok 👍
When I was a kid I would only use blue Pokémon so my soul silver team consisted of Feraligatr, Poliwrath, regular Gyarados not the shiny one, articuno and lugia
9:07 R.I.P Rowlet. You might be missed
Rowlet : 9:09 *slow motion * (insert sad music here)
You know how the Pokémon Colosseum story was hard?
If you say that rock is immune to electric, I will find you.
"Click the a button!"

You know, it’s not just ORAS that allows Potion Misclicks. It’s been doable since Gen 5, BW, I think.
10:45 if you have problems with Whitney and hate her, just have a Bayleef with poison powder (but first a flaffy to paralyse the lum Berry)
And then wait while attacking and it dies, thats why for me Whitney is easy, no problem like everyone says
