The S5 styling is gorgeous - better than the A/S4. Good engine plenty of power. I drove one recently. Brakes are very good, acceleration is brisk and Quattro is ideal in snow or slippery roads. I considered the BMW 430I and it’s a gorgeous car. The S5 has a better engine and it’s interior is laid out exceedingly well, its comfortable, roomy w/ good handling and road manners. This is the car to have.
I recently bought a S5 2023 and I will tell you first hand it is an incredible machine all around. It can do both luxury cruiser and sports car at the flip of a switch.
I have a 2019 Mythos Metallic black Prestige sportback. It was rated at 354 HP (I’ve had it APR tuned to 434). Mine has flat bottomed steering wheel. I love the MMI in mine with smaller infotainment screen (touch screens get sloppy fingerprints). It was fully loaded for $67,500. Had an $8000 Audi customer loyalty reduction! What a steal! 60,000 flawless miles on it! No rattles, no major issues. Best car I’ve ever owned.
Are u able to feel the difference after the APR tube? If so What looks for yo to be more remarcable when driving in each conduction mode? I just assessing the option to have the APR tube to my car. Thanks
@@FamilyToro If you drive normally you won’t feel much difference. That’s good since your gas mileage won’t change. If you drive aggressively, especially in “S” mode, it’s like the car has been brought up to another level. I’ve never had a problem with APR tune. It seems like an obvious thing to do, especially now that I have experienced it. I believe it was $1200 when I got it a few years ago. I don’t know the current price. I’m giving it a very strong recommendation!

Awesome and I have one in the chronos gray and with the red calipers and black out it's a looker.... Love it...
Just got the 2023 S3 prestige with damper control, like you said, big difference between comfort and dynamic mode over rough road, can’t believe S3 smooths out all those bumps so nicely (coming from GLA45 AMG, ride too stiff).
So pleased i just got to watch this video. I ordered the same colour with the same spec here in the UK. Have not seen the chronos grey on a s5 with red leather. I was a bit spectacle but now I'm happy to see what it would look like.
With the Black optic Plus package, shouldnt the lip spolier be black also? I just got an A5 loaner with the S-Line black optic and it has a black lip spoiler. very starnge thought?

I happen to be looking at purchasing/ordering an S5 sportback and the Audi configurator does not offer this color, just the other greys like Daytona and another one. Also, the configurator does not allow blacked out rings and badges. Are these options the dealer can make for me? I found your video doing research on the S5, thank you again!
Click on a color in the SECOND row, the chronos will then appear on the first row. The configurator is broken, I can’t get it to work right on my phone or my max but you can get it to pop up by clicking around the other paints.
Change the URL in the configurator to year 2023 instead of 2022 and you can see current color offerings - Looks like the full 2023 configurator isn't release yet though so it's missing features.
When I bought my '23 S5 I was in a quandary about this very issue...a relatively minor nitpick I know. I definitely wanted the polygon wheels and most of the blacked out elements so had to accept the blacked out rings, badges and exhaust tips that come with what Audi now calls black optics plus for 2023.. The chrome exhaust tips turn dark soon enough anyway so wasn't worried about that. Now that I have the car I must say the blacked out rings on the rear against the paint (mine is district green) look great - the blacked out rings against the blacked out front grill I am less enamored with although it does make the car more stealth. Same comment with the badges...the red in the front badge is very subtle without the chrome...These comments apply to the US market - there seems to be differences in other markets - for example our decklid spoiler remains body colored (which I like) but I think is black in some other countries...
I've had my '23 S5 for about a month now...the screen was (almost) a deal-breaker for me. When driving I have found it is not the problem I feared it might be. The S5 came the closest to being the car I want - looked at many other cars that all had major issues - whether styling, lack of availability, dealer incompetence, price gouging etc. If I would were King I'd mandate all cars integrate the damn infotainment screen in to the dash; I blame Elon for this :)
I wish Audi would move to a more sustainable seating surface the thought of sitting on animal skin of a calf is ehhh. Man made leather of today isnt the cheap crap of the 80s vinyl
Audi does offer sustainable seating in Europe to replace leather. In certain models you can also get suede/leatherette surfaces here in America, but still the Nappa leather is a very nice and expensive feeling material.

Highly recommend get APR stage one tune. Adds around 80-100 HP for around $500. Did it with my A5 manual. Takes it from a quick car to a FAST car.
034 or IE are much better. But agree an easy tune plus a couple bolt ons (intercooler, intake) turn this car into something very, very dangerous.

Huge difference between chronos gray and nardo/quantum/Daytona gray?
Chronos, nardo and quantum are the same idea. Kind of a flat appearing, battleship grey. Daytona is more of a classic very metallic grey.
Audi has discontinued the quantum grey and replaced it with the Daytona grey for the new generation A/S/RS models

There seems to be a few options not found on Audi’s online configurator, but your dealer will be able to help you out with that. Good luck!

I just ordered the A5 and it was 78000€. The S5 would be 70.000€ as a basic model. Your config would be around 90.000€ in Germany.
