what's your thinking behind playing the d maj chord under that F# 7? Great video
Theres a whole theory behind playing triads on top of a dominant chord to get altered chords. It’s known as Upper Structure Triads. In this case i chose D major because it fit with the melody of the song well.

Thank you sir for this informative tutorial. I have a question though...I have always thought that playin minor 9th on 3 chord will always sound dissonant unlike on minor 6 or 2. Is it advisable to use minor 9th on the 3 chord?
That C# will definitely stick out. Sometimes it does work depending on what the melody is doing and if everyone else plays it.
Placement of the note helps to. Is it open or a closed chord. I like to place it in the middle. BUT what is going around the chord in melody and other instrumentation will effect how it is felt.
Great video bro, the passing chord of the fifth of Bm7 (f# altered) can you use it in major chord as well or it’s only minor chord?

You can use it for major as well. Its similar to how you can use F#7 to go to either Bm or B maj
