This was played on New York Undercover season 1 episode 10. That show had the dopest music for a TV show. They pretty much captured 90’s hip hop on this show.
Think polyrhythms, strictly on beat was dated by this point , O.C. Came on the scene like a new era of jazz verses the old guard.
During the lockdown I started to randomly present Old School records on Facebook. Whenever I see that you listened to the same song I post your reaction instead of just the original video. :) Keep it going!
And I like to suggest:
Camp Lo - Luccini aka This is it
Cru - Just another case
Smoothe da Hustler - Broken Language
Ha, very cool!
Good to hear reactions about a track which is blowing my mind every time I heard it since almost 30 years .
It's a chorus scratches with Slick Rick. If you love those kinds of scratches chorus, DJ Premier is the best.
Anyway, I like your analyse, this jazz sample is so dope.
Peace.
OC made an early feat as a guest mc on the track Fudge Pudge by the group Organized Konfusion

O.C. spits offbeat. Classic underground 90s flow cadence
